This laptop is a decent everyday laptop and a good gaming laptop. Its thermal design is not good as the bottom plate has only a few ventilation holes. Screen is matt and ok for normal use. Brightness is also not that good as it only goes up to 250 nits. Overall a steal for the price.

You get a 2060 video card, SSD and 3200HZ Memories on a easy to upgrade machine with an extra SSD slot, for just $1000! you won't find a better deal, trust me. The cons are the battery and the screen refresh rate that to be honest, I don't even care because I use an external monitor and I'm always working from home.

Originally Best Buy's listing of this laptop stated that it was 144Hz, I got this laptop, and discovered it was the 60Hz panel. Best Buy has corrected the listing, but this correction happened after I took delivery of the laptop.. Another disappointment on Best Buy's part was that they failed to disclose that this laptop has the smaller 48Wh battery compared to the 90Wh on the other ASUS A15 models. At best with the 48Wh battery you are lucky to get 1 hour of gaming with the power hungry RTX 2060. I've noticed this laptop also has a wonky touchpad that sometimes doesn't register input, and the ASUS software on this laptop is a pain on top of that, with ASUS's "Armoury Crate" application failing to recognize the laptop resulting in me being unable to change the RGB lighting on the laptop's keyboard. The speakers on this laptop are bellow average, with very little bass, and don't get that loud as well. The 60Hz panel equipped on this laptop also fails to get bright at all. One other caveat I have noticed is the 512GB SSD ASUS uses is a slower Kingston SSD in which the model name I have found for it is "OM8PCP3512F-AB", I have not been able to find that much information on the drive, but I did run a CrystalDiskMark on it and got a read speed of 660.80 MB/s, and a write speed of 979.85 MB/s. I do have to say though the Ryzen 7 4800H is a beast, with performance from what I've seen nearing a i9 9980HK, and the RTX 2060 is more then enough power for a 1080P 60HZ panel.

Bought this for my wife as an anniversary present. She is not a gamer, but I wanted a laptop that was going to have a bit more longevity than the laptops she normally chooses. She has been very impressed with the speed and level of customizing she is able to do with the keyboard LEDs.

I just bought it. So far the laptop runs at a fast speed and smoothly. The keyboard lights are amazing and I love the WASD highlights. The laptop itself is quite portable and not very heavy. The design is pretty cool and different from other laptops.

Everything is just as I expected. I love the keyboard, I have bigger hands and it is really easy to type on this keyboard. Also love how fast my downloads have now become because of the faster processor.

the screen is very dim. I believe its 220 nits. I dont mind it being 1080p 60hz for the price but it would be even better if it was brighter. It is a lot thinner than anticipated and much thinner than the dell g5 se 4800h which is comparable to this spec.

My son wanted a gaming laptop and after lengthy research, we landed on this Asus. Added 8gb RAM with ease and he absolutely loves it. Very well built quality construction in terms of rugged and the screen resolution and audio are amazing!

I was a little skeptical buying this laptop because of a few bad YT reviews but I took a chance anyway and I am happy I did! No issues with heat what so ever. I am a moderate gaming and I also do a little photo editing and this little machine chews though it without breaking a sweat

Only had this for a month or so, but it is good so far. Stays cool, graphics look good, and runs smoothly. It did freeze once, but haven't been able to replicate it, so I guess computers gonna computer. I dropped a PS4 controller on the lid and it dented because it's metal.

Amazing laptop for the price, I use mine in a cheap laptop cooler but my temps are never above 83C and cinebench R20 was about 4200, CPU runs at 4.3Ghz consistently and it can run raytracing Minecraft although about 30Fps but still fun to play for the visuals.

Be aware, as other reviews have mentioned, the screen refresh rate is 60 HZ, not 144 HZ like was originally listed. It doesn't even make much sense to have a RTX 2060 with a 60 HZ refresh rate, so i assumed when the picture for the laptop originally had "144 hz" in the corner, that just made logical sense. I even happen to have a screen shot of the original listing advertising the 144 hz spec to prove it. However i have been unable to get in contact with Best Buy or Asus to figure out why this occurred. Besides the blatant false advertising the computer is pretty nice so far. I will update the review with more details if i decide to keep it or if Best Buy/Asus actually lets me get a hold of them to figure out why this occurred.

Love the laptop, works great on my sons games and my video editing program. No lag issues in editing but I’m going to upgrade memory as I’m going to use multiple camera options as software highly recommends. Very clear monitor and nicely built. Asus great job.

This thing has been upgraded and is going strong after 2 years. i use it as a music workstation with gaming. I play diablo 2 resurrected on my 4k tv with a usb c to hdmi adapter at around 120 fps. awesome machine

Laptop works great and can run all games I play at good speeds, but the built-in screen is yellowed an dull compared to most others. The computer is perfect when hooked up to a monitor, and is acceptable when use by itself.

Best choice I've made regarding laptops lately. Games run great, no crashes so far, the display is stunning and the overall performance of this laptop is as good as they are promising it.

Works great for on a budget good quality and features dont need anything over 60hz if your playing single player games i dont game over 60hz so screen fits my needs plus i have an external monitor so i can use that if i chose to want over 60hz.

I don’t know much about computers but my teen son has had this for 2 years and he games on it everyday and it still runs great. He loves this laptop.

Excellent for my needs. I am not a big gamer but often run simultaneous programs for my work, including streaming Zoom. I do play some steam games , and this computer has no problem with my gaming or multitasking!
