I bought this as a birthday gift to replace the Chromebook she got for Christmas. After 9 months, the Chromebook still works but it's all but useless for her. It doesn't download her games, can't get MS Office installed, etc. This Asus X551 has everything she wanted. The 15" screen and full keyboard w/10-key pad are great, without making it too heavy for her to pop in her backpack. She's not a power user - spends maybe 3-5 hours a day using it with no "heavy" programs and it's perfect for doing everyday things - homework, email, social media, a few downloadable (hidden object, etc) games, watching movies. We've had no problems with battery life.

Both computers have windows 8. They are great to work with and could be compared to the higher priced ones. Also the help I had when buying them was great. I have had to problems.

I bought this for my mom, who has never owned a computer before. It was easy to set up for her. She likes the options that Windows provides and the size of the laptop. It has taken her a little time to get used to the keyboard of the laptop, but she is getting the hang of it. She also likes that she is able to use it in conjunction with her card-making and scrapbooking.

We purchased 5 units as a Scholarship Award to young men and women competing as Law Enforcement Explorers from as far away as Washington State and agencies from all over California. The price was right and the unit will be excellent for use by the young student in a collage setting.

For the price you can't go wrong with this pc. It has all I need.

This is a very nice laptop. I needed a cheap-ish laptop for going off to college and this is exactly that. I was skeptical at first because it was soo cheap I thought it would be slow - It's Not. The one complaint I would say I have is that the keyboard feels cheap. But what can u ask for when the rest of the laptop is perfect and the price was aswell.

I originally bought this item for work, but my husband has taken it over. He uses it daily for his online games. It hasn't given him any problems. Its a good product to own.

I am a college student who has a pastime for gaming. The computer is very good for school work, but if you are looking for something to run advanced games, this laptop is not for you. The keys are comfortable, display is ok, but the camera is not the highlight of this device.

I bought this laptop to use to pay bills, emails and do online shopping. So far I have been very pleased with the performance.

I got two of these (one for me, one for teenage son) and I mainly check email and use it for social networking. My son uses it for Minecraft and things like that. We love these laptops. It is such a great value for the price and we used them to replace our Compaq's that broke way too soon. Would definitely recommend.
