Good machine for the money. I purchased this for my daughter, she loves it. Works great for requirements.

A fair value for the money. Dose not come with system backup software, you will have to download it from Asus! Overal its not a bad system.

For your money I don't think you could really do better than this.

I bought this for my wife to pay her bills on-line and write letters. She also uses it to Skype as well. I works perfectly for what she wants to do. I have no complatints and she loves it.

Needed to give a laptop away without breaking the bank. Person needed to create resume, browse internet with free wifi, apply online for jobs and monitor email. Worked as intended, person is now employed and can still use this for entertinment and staying in touch. Great product!

I purchased 2 of these ASUS laptops at the same time. They were both inexpensive, but don't last long. One barely lasted 2 years. The screen remained black and would not display anything. The other one is still working, BUT either the battery or adaptor for charging the battery are not working. I have to keep it plugged in and then it still shuts down after about 20-30 minutes!

After the debacle that was my Toshiba Satellite PC that stopped working a year after purchase and neither Best Buy nor Toshiba would help with, I took a chance and purchased this Asus for a very good deal as a back up laptop to carry around when I don't want to use my Macbook. So far, the Asus is working well, I still hate Windows 8 and some of the functions are confusing, i.e. the webcam, certain pop-up ads. It is serving its purpose and would seem to be a good choice for either a young student, or as an inexpensive second laptop.

I don't do heavy duty computing like movies or games but rather do some Office but mostly web surfing and emails. This computer is a good value and has decent speed for my purposes.

The purchase of this laptop was an amazing deal. It's not the best laptop out there, but it is definitely worth more than the price.

Excellent buy. Fair speed but 8.1 is not intuitive or for beginners. Apps are annoying. For general use, excellent. For specific such as intensive downloading or gaming, just fair.
