I dunno, Asus...

They are attractively priced, attractively designed and are just about the quietest, coolest running laptops on the market. Only problem is, we can't keep them. Mine, purchased a few years ago, absolutely bricked after 3 months. So when I went to buy a computer for my son I did a lot of research and found that the top spots were almost always Apple and Asus. For close to a quarter of the price, I went with the Asus. Now, a month later, I got an email today saying it's on it's way back from Geek Central after it quit turning on at all last week. Yeah, props to BB for the quick turnaround, but ideally, if it felt it HAD to break down I would like to have been closer to the end of the manufacturer's warranty (one year) before it did.

Windows 8 SUCKS!

The laptop is ok for the price and the hdmi doesn't work but its worth the money. If I knew how bad windows 8 was I would have purchased another product.
