I highly recommend this computer for anyone. I use it for pleasure and work. It is easy to use. Light to carry. Actual battery life is min. 4 hours to as many 5.5 hrs. I have been cured of the HP bug.

I bought this for my 17 year old brother and he loves it. It works just as well as my $800 HP computer and sometimes, even better. Asus has really stepped up their technology. I am in the process of purchasing two more for my daughters.

Overall, this laptop is pretty good. The problem is that its graphics card is not that great, so multitasking makes the computer lag really badly. Just opening multiple tabs makes the laptop slow. Truthfully, I think windows 8 has too many unnecessary functions and apps. I hate that you have to make a Microsoft account in order to use this.

Good laptop to use at home but would not recommend for a business environment. Mouse pad on laptop is very touchy, it will switch to other websites if your thumb happens to lay on the pad for a few seconds. Do not like Windows 8!

I bought this computer for my mother to combat isolation issues for her and to connect her to the world. It was easy for me to set it up for her and teach her how to use it to do searches and e-mail, basic beginner functions. Now I don't have to worry about her trying to venture out this winter to try to get to library or store for a newspaper. Look forward to teaching her more. Great product for everyday use. Look forward to playing around with it more myself. Grankids can play with it now when visiting so not so bored LOL.

This laptop is great value and I'm still using it since i got it. It's worth it's price and very useful for a student or anyone who just needs a functional and portable computer.

This Asus laptop does everything I need. Great on wifi internet. Watch a lot of Netflix and You Tube. Play my favorite online games.

Bought this for my son who is only 9 and getting more and more school projects requiring internet usage. He was very specific that he also wanted something with the capability to play minecraft! Lol! After researching lots of devices i came across this little beauty only to find that it had everything i needed and more! And the price is right!! Would absolutely recommend. I gave it 4 stars because it doesnt come with any recovery discs and we had difficulty getting it to hook up to our wireless router; ended up having to reconfigure router and therefore all other PCs/devices in our house. Other than that we love this notebook!

The laptop is pretty fast. The screen quality is decent. I recommend this laptop.

It's fast and affordable compared to my old laptops. This is my third laptop and it out preforms both of them. If your looking for a nice lightweight computer for school or surfing the web then this laptop is perfect. Just make sure you set it up to your liking. It's not a powerful computer but it is an excellent laptop.

My technical knowledge is about average, and trying a new laptop is rather scary to me. I am so relieved that my technical life has been simplified. The speed and ease of use has freed up literally hours that I use for other tasks and leisure. It's also relieved stress and anxiety I hope it lasts for a long time. .

A got this laptop for $198 and it has all the features I need. It's fast, quiet and the screen size is just right. I only wished it has more USB ports. But for this price, I can't really complain much.

Great product for younger children. It is fast and easy to use. The cost makes it an easy choice for parents that know kids can be careless with their devices.

We bought all of the items as early Christmas presents. The laptop was the best option for computers taking into consideration the price, convenience of shopping on line and free delivery. Didn't need to go sit outside in the cold on Thanksgiving for the possibility of getting a cheap laptop. A little research and comparison helped make the experience just right as buyers. My daughter who received the laptop, loves it and stated that it is extremely easy to use but the only knock we could think of was that it would have been nice to have the anti-virus already installed.

A bare bones PC for sure, but for $229 the memory and capabilities were much better than a similarly priced tablet. Decent screen, processor speed and plenty of memory and windows 8.1 works mostly well,but....... My first unit crashed after 5 days of use and refused to boot up; I returned it to the store and received an immediate exchange. My second unit has worked flawlessly for a month. Despite the problem with the first unit, I recommend the unit and BB.

Purchased for 10 year old daughter as a birthday present. Good value for the price. Although she has an iPad, I wanted a relatively competent laptop so she could type documents and learn keyboarding. So far so good, fast enough for her games.

I bought this laptop to keep at our family home in another State to keep up on bill paying, email, etc. I had been bringing my own personal laptop back and forth on the plane. So far, this Asus has been excellent and I am very happy with my purchase.

What I like: the price; screen size; full keyboard; lightweight; fair battery life (about 2 hours with full brightness); HDMI output. What I don't like: Trackpad does not work very well (sometimes very sensitive, other times not at all - this is annoying but can be overcome with a mouse); Windows 8 (some of the fancy transitions between, for example, the desktop and start menu, seemed slow. I replaced windows with a version of Linux Mint); Keyboard keys seem a bit loud (especially noticeable when in a quiet room). Overall: Good laptop for office related activities (word processing/spreadsheets). Don't expect to do any gaming with this, but surfing the internet/watching videos/taking notes/etc. will do just fine. I don't expect this laptop to last more than 2-3 years.

Excellent quality for the price. I was a little put off by the fact that it is loaded with Windows 8, but you can change that when you get the laptop. Even so, Windows 8 isn't that bad, it was just a matter of my preference. Great tool for the economically conscious student starting out .
