I bought this for a family member. The DVD didn't work out of the box. Took it back to Best Buy and had the Geek Squad take a look at it. They wanted to send it back for repair so we'd be without the computer for at least 2 weeks. I wanted to just re-order it as this one was shipped to home. They were out of stock in store & warehouse so I just returned it. I guess you get what you pay for. This was a CHEAP one!

Except for the phantom typing, (the letter "c" appears when I'm not even close to the c key) and the cursor jumping to different locations when typing it works fine.

Computer was for son's school work and some play. Not bad but the battery life stinks. Keyboard keys a little weird.

We bought a new computer on October 31st and a very fine computer technician has been unable to work out the problems with it. We are using a borrowed laptop to carry on as best we can. We were told by the store that we had waited too long to get any service on the new computer from them. Dr. Jim O. Selby

Feels cheaply made -- it rattles, the keyboard feels chincy. I have had it for two months, and already it is dead. It will not turn on, no lights, not response at all. D.E.A.D. Fortunately it is still in warranty.

It's not a cheap item,I bought it for a month, used properly 5times, it runs very slow, takes couple minutes.

I bought the laptop because of its reasonable price and I only need it to be able to skype with my husband overseas. After more than 2 months of use the laptop just shut down. What a waste of money even it is cheap. Better buy a better laptop next time that can last longer than 2 months. I wouldn't recommend it!! Buy a better laptop don't waste your money!!!

I have to start by saying I never write reviews so the fact that I'm writing this one says a lot. I've come to learn that it's important to write reviews and honest once because people like me read these things and hold on to the reviews before buying products. That being said, I LOVE THIS LAPTOP! Going from a horrible Dell that cost a few hundred dollars back when I bought it ($500-$600) it definitely lasted me a really long time but that's because I'm a very patient person since the quality of that computer was garbage. I've never had an ASUS before but this laptop has definitely made me a fan. Its fast, its quiet, doesn't heat up at all, and its so light! The display is awesome and in my opinion the speakers are great. As a college student the price was definitely the draw. I got it on sale this weekend for only $197 and I was skeptical because I was wondering what quality laptop is barely $200 but I made the right choice because this thing is great. I will say, I have issues time to time with the scrolling on the mouse but its okay because I saved about $300 buying this laptop rather than another one (or even $1,000 since I briefly considered getting a Mac). I see a lot of people saying that this laptop appears cheap looking? I've seen quite a few laptops and honestly no one will know how cheap you got this one, it looks good just like any other thin, lightweight laptop. It's not a Mac so don't buy this expecting Mac speed or display, but it really is great for students or anyone just looking for a quick and easy buy. Good for the typical uploading pictures, internet surfing, tv/movie watching, skype, playing music, etc.

Having a problem with the Kaspersky security system. Not using computer because of it.

I purchased this laptop for my 5th graderon August 11th so that he could have his own laptop for educational and personal use. He opened the box and was so excited. Needless to say two days later the laptop would not charge. I had to return it the following day on August 14th. I should have known bettet. Very disappointed.....

Doesn't work well software is so slow can't concentrate doing my homework (Essay)

Looked good...but when I tried to have McAfee installed I was told that there were approx 157 errors on the computer, and the computer would have to be cleaned first....their cost $149.00. I returned the computer to Best Buy and got a store credit....will use it when I find a good deal on a computer that is NEW.

Not really happy with this laptop. Too many popups and runs very slow.

Never made it through setup. Returned the same day I purchased.

This computer stopped working after three weeks. Best Buy wouldn't fix it for free because we didn't buy any "Geek Squad" protection for it. Asus says they will only fix it if we pay the cost to ship it to them.

Completely dead after one month and it is slow with games

You get what you pay for. Plastic. Mouse is "off".

Best Buy staff was great but this computer is ghastly. Five weeks of light usage and it suddenly forgot it had an operating system. Replacement wouldn't boot at all. BB replaced with different brand this time. Would never buy ASUS again.

We had only used it about a solid week. We had left it off for about a day or so. Trying to turn it back on & we got 0 response from the laptop. We ended up returning the laptop & got a Toshiba.
