We found this as an open box deal on a whim and instantly replaced the computer we bought only a week before. I would completely recommend this computer to anyone if it weren't taken down at best buy! This laptop replaced my older laptop that was dying rapidly and it is so much better than I could have imagined. I can run programs on my computer so much better than I have in years and it feels great! !

I've had this laptop for about a month now and I'm happy with it so far. I did upgrade the memory to 8GB just to speed it up a little when doing memory intensive tasks, but other than that I'm very happy with it right out of the box.

This is my first time buying Asus and my experience had been really good, so far.

Decent lap top computer at a decent price. It has all the basic features I need.

I purchased this laptop for my Father. The only thing missing was more memory. I got 4GB more and installed it, making it 8GB total. I'm a big fan of Asus products for their quality and support. I really liked the fact the battery is removable and can be replaced. Most laptops now a days have the battery internal and can't replace it when it goes bad. My Dad loves the laptop! For the money, it was a great buy. I thought about buying one for myself, but want a smaller more portable one. Over all, a great buy.

The Asus X550LA seems to run fine. Only minor issue is that there is no mic input (as with many new laptops). The big issue really was Asus service. The 1-866* number they provide does not work. No one ever answers (day or night). So then there is the Chat from there website. It took well over an hour to get connected. Then you get responses in the chat that appear as though they are just automated to keep you humored. Finally when we get down to the issue of a failed Windows Up Date on a system right out of the box all I get is a response "it must of been a fluke". No assistance, no real help. The upgrade was a Microsoft Windows 8.1 problem, but come on ... this is right out of the box. I could not have been the first to report this issue.

Great computer. This is our second Asus. Will probably never buy another brand.
