Purchased this little powerhouse today and have been using it for about 5 hours. This is a very impressive piece of hardware. The fit/finish is outstanding (hello Apple). Everything works as it should and the speed is amazing. Better pick one up while they are on sale, I don't think you would be disappointed. One of the best high-end computers I have ever used.

    A Solid Laptop

PROS Design : In terms of design, it's amazing. The laptop is super thin, super light, and highly recommendable for everyday users for its portability. It looks and feels very secure. Performance : Fast. The specs on this laptop is incredible for its price. The touchscreen works great, the track pad feels very smooth to the touch. Content : The device comes with an ASUS stylus, and a multi usb hub. The stylus is nice. Comes with a pre-installed battery, and it connects to the laptop automatically which is really convenient. 2-in-1 : The laptop screen folds back flat to work as a tablet. The laptop automatically switches to tablet mode, giving you a real tablet-like experience. CONS Cooling Fan : Because of its slim design, the fan ASUS has put on here is sub par. It can get a little loud and whiny during heavy use, but on normal use it's pretty quiet. Battery Life : As it is with any other devices, the battery life is not what you expect. The advertised battery life is 11.5 hours but I am getting less than half of that. Lack of ports : Although you can't expect a ton of ports on such thinly designed computer, but it is still somewhat lacking. It only has 2 USB-C ports, once of which cannot be used while charging. VERDICT: If i could I would give it a 4.5 stars, cause it's very close to being perfect. For the price you can't get anything something like this with any other brands such as HP ($1600) or Apple ($1700 and up). I would highly recommend this products to students like myself, writers, or just to folks who use computers for daily tasks. However, for gamers and photoshop illustrators, the graphic card will probably not be able to handle the task load. But other than that, definitely go for the laptop!

This is hands down the best I've laptop ever had. I've owned multiple hps and use my boyfriend's lenovo all the time and there are too many complaints to list. I was scared to get a 2 in 1 because my recent hp is a 2 in 1 and its the worst laptop ive ever used in my life. my boyfriends lenovo is also a 2 in 1 and glitches so much. This laptop on the other hand is amazing. So light and portable, keypad is very comfortable, and its veryyyyyy fast. I have no complaints. I've been searching for the perfect laptop for two years and almost bought a mac because of all the amazing things I hear about them but I hate OS processors when it comes to computers (I love my iPhone). I love windows, I'm comfortable with windows and I didn't want to get used to an entire new processor.

Fast laptop but fan is quite loud

I have this laptop for about two weeks and for the most part it is a really good laptop for its price(it's fast, light, etc...) but the downside comes whenever I charge my laptop. The laptop heats up really quickly and the fan gets pretty loud whenever I plug in the charger, even when I'm not even doing anything on the laptop. This has been the biggest problem and I've been trying to avoid it by charging it with the laptop off. I am not sure if it's just my laptop but it kinda sucks that I can't really use it while charging in public because it's loud.

I'm coming from a 2017 Macbook Pro and prior to that, a Surface Pro w/ 8gb RAM i5. I was cross shopping between the HP spectre 360, Dell XPS, Envy, and a few others. I wanted under 14" display, high def, fast processor, SSD, and portability with a minimum of 8gb of RAM. Why did I leave the Macbook Pro? The OS was crippled when it came to work functions and power photo editing. Anyone that disagrees is either making concessions or doesn't actually know how to use maximize workflow with Windows. In addition, the hardware was the turtle in the race, slow and steady. Finally, the lack of a touch screen did me in (I don't care what anyone says, once you get used to having one, you don't want to go back). Regarding the Asus Q325UA, this is the best laptop I've used in quite some time, and the happiest I've been since having my original Surface Pro. I'm not sure where online stats are stating .55" thickness, I'm measuring under .5" at its thickest, and that is the very tip. This is the thinnest laptop I've seen next to the Dell XPS, and honestly, it is far more functional when considering that it uses a 8th gen i7 U series processor, not the dumbed down one they use and pass off as a i7 (essentially an amped up core M processor). The look is polished and zero gimmick (carbon fiber, odd angular designs, etc.). My only complaint on design is it attracts fingerprints on the outside. The screen is beautiful and has minimal bezels on three sides. The trackpad is the best I've used, I'm confused how they got it to glide that smoothly. It can almost be a touch oversensitive, but definitely a plus. The processing power is amazing with the 8th gen i7 and 16gb of RAM. It runs Photoshop and Lightroom and beyond fast. There is very little bloatware and they let you choose what it uploads at install. Very nice to not auto upload it. The keyboard is good for the thickness. Honestly, for the typical sale price which floats around $1100, I didn't find anything close in terms of processing power with the 8th gen i7, 16 GB RAM, 500+gb SSD, slim factor, etc.

I bought this laptop about 6 months ago and wanted to give some time before I gave it a review. This laptop is the best laptop I have ever owned. Pros: -Speedy 8th gen CPU -Thin and light form factor (2.4 lbs) -Quick to charge using USB type C (I can charge my laptop using both usb c ports. dont know why people say only one is used for charging) -512 SSD -16 GB RAM -Surfing the web, emails, and listening to music is a dream on this computer. -Can handle light gaming. I play games such as Portal, Stardew Valley and Kerbal Space Program without any problems. I opted for this machine because it is not my primary gaming machine (have a desktop) but it is nice to see that it can play some games especially on the go. -Bluetooth - can also hook up a wireless bluetooth SNES controller (8bitdo) and play emulated games on this laptop. Would highly recommend a bluetooth mouse also with the lack of USB 3.0 on the laptop itself. -Great laptop for air travel due to thin and light design and decent battery life. -USB dongle allows me to hook up USB 3.0 devices, and connect to external monitors/tvs using hdmi. Cons: -Battery life - I would say the battery life isn't bad but its not great either. I first tested the laptop from 100% to 0 with the brightness set at 50% the entire time. I was doing moderate internet browsing and watching youtube videos and twitch the whole time and managed 5.5 hours of battery. The next day I tested from 100% to 0 again, and set the brightness to 25% the entire time and virtually did not watch any youtube videos and twitch. Mostly did some light internet browsing and reading/writing emails, etc and was able to get 9.5 hours. I think this is pretty much to be expected. The harder you push the laptop the faster the battery will drain. -Touchpad - I didnt notice this when i first bought the laptop but recently I have noticed that when I am scrolling down webpages, the touchpad will just stop scrolling randomly. I will have to reset the webpage to reactivate the scroll gesture. This happened like once every 5-10 minutes and became very annoying but has since stopped. Besides these minor annoyances, this laptop is simply amazing. It does everything I could have hoped for and is just the perfect machine for my needs. I would highly recommend this laptop if you are a student and/or want a really fast, lightweight powerhouse that can handle light gaming and do productivity work like a breeze.

I've had this laptop for 5 years already and it has served me well in that time. It's only now that I'm starting to notice issues with the fan and overheating. Other than that, its speed of function remains the same. The battery saver settings really do help maintain the life of the battery. At this point, I'm able to get a good 2 hours of use on 80% battery charge. For reference, I used this laptop throught my college/university years for schoolwork as well as entertainment and social media. Afterwards, the usage dramatically decreased but the functionality has been impeccable. Even the pen has lasted BUT, I've only started using it for the last 2 years of ownership out of the 5...so don't take my word for it since it may not be the greatest guage. Overall, this was definitely not a regrettable purchase.

I'm always in the search for the best combo of travel device / office device as I'm in sales. I picked up this laptop in a Best Buy and couldn't get over how light it was for a 13.3. It has great inking with the included stylus and good battery life. My only gripe is that you have to use the Asus provided power adapter to charge....ASUS!!! why not let the USB-C port get charged up by my battery bank or Samsung phone charger? I would love the ability to travel with just one charger for all. Other than that, no negatives to really speak of. This is a GREAT laptop that I will keep for many years.

If you are planning for a thin and portable laptop with 8th gen i7, 16GB Ram and 512gb SSD then this one is the best value for money you can buy. Laptop is great, only complaint will be lack of the ports, it just comes with 2 type C ports, but an extender with type-c HDMI and USB port comes in the pack. 1/2 star was reduced for that. Buying this one from Best buy might not be the best decision because, ASUS provide 1 year free accidental coverage while buying it from them and some other stores, but not from best buy. Also the price varies way to much in best buy, when I bought the laptop it was 150$ cheaper than sticker price, after 15days it became 300$ cheaper than sticker price selling at 999$, but best buy will only provide 15day price match, especially if you buy using best buy credit card. The laptop is great, but the experience of buying from best buy is not so great!

    Almost perfect

This is almost a perfect laptop. It has great specs and a genuinely beautiful form factor. It's ridiculously light and thin and the keyboard still feels nice to type on. My only complaint is the battery life which is below average at best. I use the device for coding in programming classes and taking notes in other classes. I can manage 6-7 hours while using battery saver mode at 100 brightness. That's 6-7 hours of writing code and compiling and also using the pen for taking notes, but almost no video streaming and only light browsing. That battery life is ok but not really good considering this is a $1000+ machine. I've also not experienced any heat issues and while under load, the fans are quieter than I expected though not entirely silent. If your usage is similar to mine and you don't spend more than 6 hours away from the socket, this is a no brainier.

    Great So Far

I had a problem with the first one of these I bought. It was an open box unit and it arrived dead and without a charger. I was disappointed that BestBuy did not test the unit and make sure all the parts were there. This is the second time I have received an item that was DOA from BB. So why 5 stars? Because this review is about the product, not BB's lack of quality control. Anyway, I immediately took the dead unit to the nearest store and they did a direct exchange with another open box unit and we tested there at the counter. The replacement has been fantastic so far. It's a quick machine and I have not had any crashes or anything. I am also enjoying the stylus and have been using it with PhotoShop in tablet mode. This laptop is also extremely compact and lightweight, which is what I wanted. Very happy!

I have been owning this laptop for 1.5 months. I mostly use it for web browsing, watching videos, and light programming tasks. At full charge, it lasts for ~5hrs with medium brightness and volumn. The stylus is responsive. Flipping it to the tablet mode and back is easy and makes it a super convenient device. There is slight fan sound but it doesn't bother me. With 16gb memory and 8th gen i7 processor at $1100 price point is such a steal. Oh, it comes with a 3-port dongle for hdmi, usb, and usb-c. That saves you extra bucks. The only thing I would mind a little bit is the fingerprint sensor does not catch my finger sometimes and I have to reset it from time to time. Maybe it's for added security reason? Overall, I love this machine. I want to thank the sales associate for her honest recommendation!

Powerful but with limited SSD bottleneck.

I picked up an open-box one in local best buy store and thought I really got a nice deal. Pros: core i7 8th 8550u, very powerful. 16 GB LP DDR 3 memory. 512 GB SATA III SSD. Light, thin and easy to carry. Cons: 512 GB SATA III SSD is the bottlenet of the whole laptop, I don't underand why Asus use suck a Sandisk SATA III SSD, it's a trash totally. I tested it with crystalDiskMark, the read speed is about 450 MB/s, write is about 280 MB/s, which totally slow down the whole system. I compared with my yoga 730 laptop, which uses PCIe ssd, with 2.2 GB/s read, and 1.4 GB/ write, even with core i5 CPU, the whole benchmark score is highter than this Asus. I really hope Asus can just change the SSD type to PCIe, and then this laptop will be a superfast monster. Noisy fans if you turn on autoFan apps. Keyboard is kind of small that I need to get used to. I deceid to return this item, because of the whole performance does not meet my needs. But over all, I would recommend this to students and regualr business people if you don't really do photo editing or video editing. It's a pretty good deal overall. i

    Slow and Hardware issues

I purchased this product in July 2017. I has already been in for repairs twice, including most recently for replacement of the hard drive. The first time, I took it to Geek Squad. They got it to work but said it was likely a software issue and they wouldn’t be able to fix it unless I spent $150 for their protection. It happened again and was unusable. I called Asus. Their Customer Service was horrible. They diagnosed the hard drive problem and suggested that Best Buy was an authorized repair center;however Geek Squad had previously said they would not repair it. I had to send it back to Asus and it took 14 days for me to get it back. I use this laptop for work so i has lost productivity. I would not recommend any Asus product.

Prior to leaving on cruise in late November I bought it on sale at Best Buy near Ft. Lauderdale. While at hotel tried to start it up...Nothing...Over and over,...nothing. Brought it back next morning and exchanged it for another one. Departed on cruise that afternoon and gave the new one a shot. No Wi-Fi, only error message concerning unbootable device....Wi-Fi nowhere to be found...Tried everything...Upon returning from cruise brought it back...Maybe they got a bad batch but I gave it no chance for a strike 3. That was my first and last experience with ASUS.
