Although 5.07 lbs is really not heavy, its just a little heavier than I expected. Other than that, this laptop is more than perfect for the things I use it for like: I do lots of online shopping & researching items before I buy. Listening to music, the speakers are decent I just wish they were on top near the keyboard but the little subwoofer is a nice addition, just wish it was wireless. Social media especially YouTube and lots of video editing so the 2TB HDD is great for storing all my videos. Its just a little slow at 5400 rpm, but the 512 SSD makes up for that. With 16 GB ram and the Nvidia 950M dedicated graphics card, video rendering is lightening fast! Battery life, its ok at about 4-5 hrs. I love the 4K touch screen display, the backlit keyboard, the folding design & the stylish hinges. Mine looks sleek in the sand blasted black, but I wish it was available in other colors. So I bought a skin & keyboard cover off eBay to personalize it a bit. I bought mine open box 1 month ago for a super great low price $9xx.xx. I haven't had any problems with this laptop so far & I just love it!

Sold my MacBook Pro and found this at the BB in Rogers, AR. The clerk helping me was very helpful and directed me to this machine. I am very pleased with the speed, storage capacity, 16GB memory, and the SSD and HDD drive. How I use it: - Graphic Design - Video editing - Web design/dev - Running a couple of small businesses Highlights: - Super fast - 4k display - 2TB HDD - 512GB SSD - Good sounding speakers - Plenty of connectivity including USB-C port - Quite fan even when the processor is pushed I recommend as this machine is a great value

The laptop description highlights all of the pros (memory, storage, ports, etc), so here are a few cons. When you first turn it on, the logo Lenovo is on the desktop instead asus. The Gtx 950 video card is an older and slower version. the hard drive is the slower version. the SSD Drive defaults to Drive C so be careful when installing software, iTunes, etc. as this drive will fill up fast. There is a high pitch sound like an airplane engine. Sometimes when installing software, if a progress window pops up, the height of the widow is squeezed so you can't read what is in the window. The mouse pad is slick as glass. Using slower components makes the laptop slower than what it should be. If you can get past these items, it is a great computer for the money.

I needed a laptop for college with moderately heavy duty specs as I am an engineering major. So far, this laptop has run great with no problems running or downloading the software required for my classes. It runs COMSOL, MatLab, LabView, and more like a champ. The only issue I've had is that one of the hinges is messed up enough so that I can't really use my laptop in tablet mode. It still opens and shuts but I'm not sure how it got tweaked because I have not bumped or dropped my laptop. Also, this happened right when classes started and it takes several weeks to repair so I have yet to get it fixed.

This is the best Laptop i had so far it works really nice when you fold it around and use a wireless mouse and keyboard it saves a lot of space on my desk. and it had a very good touch screen that helps from spreadsheets to having to find where your mouse pointer is on the screen (just click with your finger). lots of memory and processors are ok. i would like it to be a 32gb processor. But it works well.

I needed a laptop that's cabable of video editing without freezing or crashing during the process meantime includes UHD, 4K screen. The specifics of this Asus model include what's required for a great start since I didn't want to spend big $$$$ in a MacBook Pro. It perfectly worked. No freez or crashing. The only thing that could make this model the best is weight. It's a little heavy compared to other brands that might compete. I made a great pick by buying this model.

I just loved this laptop the 4K ultra screen is too good and I made it dual boot with windows 10 and Linux. Sound is also good and it looks like a premium laptop with respect to built and processing. I did lot of research and finally chose this one.

Fast and reliable but you will need to buy a USB-C to Ethernet adapter if you want to connect via Ethernet cable. I purchased the Cable Matters USB-C Multiport Adapter with 4K HDMI or VGA Video and Gigabit Ethernet Ethernet (Thunderbolt 3 Port Compatible).

After quite some search, I bought this and was pretty excited and happy about my purchase. Used my student's discount on top of other discounts and got everything within 1100. For the specs, this price was unbeatable. So pricewise, specs-wise five stars. If someone uses Windows only, I strongly recommend this product. For Linux users, the 4K resolution can be tricky. I work on remote machines via Fedora platform, and due to the high resolution on the local everything from the remote looks tiny, no matter how many times I tweaked the configuration. I had little success with Ubuntu OS but was less useful to me. I had this for two weeks. Speed, performance, disk space, SSD boot time, battery life, picture quality on screen everything were great. If this configuration comes in FHD, I will buy it again. Returned it for now. Sad that this configuration is rare to find with FHD.

As someone who is an average gamer and utilizes allot of heavy software such as autocad, revit, etc I needed a computer that would be able to keep up with my pace. Also, living off of a college student budget, I had to be realistic about my price range. I've done allot of research in hopes of finding that perfect laptop to replace my old Hp, and the only one with my desired specs, price and asthetic ended up being the Asus534. I was a little wary, the best buy reviews are pretty mixed when it comes to this laptop and there aren't allot of videos on youtube or other sites reviewing it either. That being said, I figured I would try to write a helpful review for someone else out there in the same situation. Pros: The screen is beautiful, though I have seen some reviews remarking it is not a true 4k screen, the image clarity is still gorgeous. It is fast and able to keep up while running multiple windows and programs. The start up time is around 7 seconds, much like others have uncovered. There is plenty of storage, however you will want to make sure your downloaded software is moved to the hard drive or it will automatically download to the 512 solid state drive, which fills up allot quicker. Despite there being only one small vent on the back, I personally I have not had any overheating issues. There is a sound to it but it is not unbearable. The tablet feature hasn't really been an issue but I only really keep it in the tent position when watching netflix. Cons: This is a laptop speaker, so I can't really say much for quality but my biggest issue is if you are listening to something while working, the sound will stop for a second every once a while. It's not enough to ruin the music but it is just enough for you to notice and become annoyed. The mouse is quick for the most part, but i have noticed that if you are using it for a while it starts to become sluggish and you feel like you have to drag it along. If you restart, it's fine. The buttons on the side are pretty stiff, which can be annoying when turning it on or adjusting the volume. The usb ports are also pretty stiff, to a point where you have to force your drive in almost, but I am hoping they'll loosen overtime. I haven't really used my subwoofer but I am not positive if it works. Lastly, there some of my programs where it's hard to use because the font and layout is so small. I am sure this is something I can adjust, but to those who aren't computer savy you may have difficulties fixing it. Also, finger prints are this computer's best friend. This really isn't a huge issue, and if you've read other reviews i'm sure you're aware. Overall, I am pretty happy with my purchase. There are very few perfect windows computers, which is something to keep in mind when looking for your new laptop. My biggest suggestion is too do as much research and ask as many questions as you can before dropping 1,400 dollars. I hope this was helpful!

Black Friday purchase. I spent the first week updating drivers and trying to figure out the whole 2-in-1 thing, and am just now getting comfortable with how everything works. The sub woofer needs to be plugged all the way in to work. Push hard. The flip-screen tablet mode seems to work about 75% of the time. The touch-pad is probably my biggest issue as it seems very sensitive, but not a deal breaker for me. The keyboard is smaller than what I'm used to, but I will get over that in time. Still can't figure out how to fast charge my Galaxy S6 in the fast charge port. The fast 7th generation processor and ample memory is great. The huge storage space, with included SSD is awesome. The bright UHD touchscreen display is really nice. Fairly light weight and good battery life. Have not played any games, or done any video editing yet, but I am confident it will work well. Pretty happy with my purchase.

I purchased this computer after returning an Alienware laptop due to its lack of many standard options. IMO this computer ended up being a lot better and even cheaper, (just no fancy lights). 512 GB SSD and then an addition 2TB of hard drive space! Plus 4GB dedicated graphics memory with UHD touch screen. All this with a numeric keypad, it was everything I needed with NO compromise. The only issue I had is the right click button on the mouse pad isn't working correctly. Everything else on this computer has worked flawlessly. It's fast, smooth, easy to use, light, convertible, everything you want your laptop to be. If you need a graphics card with dedicated memory and don't want to compromise speed, portability or versatility, then this the computer for you.

I love this laptop. It has great screen resolution which is perfect for detail editing hd photography and it can function fast with many programs running, which is ideal for me. It is also great for running games with high graphics. It does run hot after a few hours of gaming or program running though so I bought a laptop cooler for those days. Overall great and I love the touch screen addition. I would highly recommend it to those with serious intentions for their computer use. The only reason I give it 4 stars is that it doesn't have a cd drive, which many don't nowadays but it would have been a plus.

I bought this system for school and though I haven't started yet, I'm excited to! I didn't need a gamer level computer, but I did want to get something that would last and though that still remains to be seen, the storage on this system is amazing, it's reactive to both the keyboard and touchscreen, graphics are wonderful and for general all purpose use I couldn't be happier. (run on sentence submitted as evidence of joy!) Its light weight over all and easy to carry, but far more robust than my Asus ZenPad (as it should be!) Battery charge is sufficient (I dont do a TON of hours all at once) I have done some decent streaming and surfing with a plethora of tabs open and gone a few days between charges with it unplugged. If you're looking for a solid, all around general use device for someone that isn't needing it for gaming this would be high on the list.

I have using this laptop for a solid month and I have really grown familiar with it. I purchased it for 1,299.99 + tax. Firstly, the specs are pretty high-end: KabyLake i7-7500u, GTX 950M with 2GB GDDR5 RAM (915 MHz base core and 2506 MHz Mem Clock), 16GB DDR4-2133 RAM, and a 512GB SATA SSD/2TB HDD combo. The look of it is beautiful and unique, but the glossy Aluminum finish is really good at attracting fingerprints. Keyboard is great; the keys have a tactile and consistent feel. There is 3-level backlight and I like the placement of the up-down arrow keys. Wide range of ports and yes, the USB-C port supports Thunderbolt 3; I use this feature to connect it to my 144hz monitor. Battery life is okay with 3-4 hours of light use and screen at 50% brightness. All in all great buy. Suitable for gamers, content creators or those just wanting a high-end laptop. BONUS: Here are some gaming benchmarks I've done on this laptop (@1080p resolution): -GTA V Med Graphics: 50-70 FPS -Rocket League Med-High Graphics: ~100 FPS -CS:GO Medium Graphics: ~150 FPS -Overwatch Low-Medium Graphics: ~90 FPS

This is my third Asus Q534. (The first two were open box items that were defective making me question Best Buy's quality program.) I finally bought a new one because I was tired of returning them. This has a lot going for it for the price: a dual core, 7th gen I7 with 16gb of DDR4 memory and a fast 512gb SSD primary drive that cold starts in about 10 seconds. There is also a slow-ish 5400rpm 2TB hard drive providing massive storage. The tablet mode is handy but sometimes I have to manually disengage the keyboard when the tablet mode doesn't automatically engage when the screen is flipped. The 4K is the Achilles heel of the system. At this small size, 4K isn't noticably better than a standard HD screen but it uses a lot more battery. Since there are very few 4K broadcasts at this time, this displays in regular HD most of the time anyway. Asus' other version of this same PC has a standard HD screen, looks exactly the same and gets 90 MINUTES MORE BATTERY LIFE with the same processor. The battery life on this is dismal: 4-5 hours of web browsing. A processor-intensive program or game would drain he battery faster. Regarding the battery, it's not user-replaceable. I HATE this new trend of having internal batteries. On the plus side, Asus doesn't solder memory, hard drives and batteries to the motherboard like some manufacturers do. The power supply isn't a standard size, so you won't find an aftermarket replacement in regular stores. The case is strong aluminum but every fingerprint is noticeable on the flat black case and the glossy screen. The illuminated keyboard doesn't have the same tactile response as some competitors... I don't know if the travel distance is shorter, but it's spongey-feeling and imprecise. It does have a handy separate numerical key pad. There isn't an Ethernet port but it has three USBs, an HDMI and a thunderbolt. It comes with a silly corded external speaker. The internal Harmon Kardon speakers sound good. Asus has made quality components for other manufacturers or years, and I hope that their computers turn out to be reliable as well.

I Did alot of research and figured out exactly which components I wanted. This does not have it all. I wanted a quad core processor and upgradeable ram. To get that with the other features that this does have would have been over double. Boots up super fast. Back lit keyboard is great. Hit FN and f3 at the same time to turn on. Runs all my programs no problem. Such as Adobe lightroom and photoshop while watching netflix. Some of the filters in photoshop do have a slight wait time. Maybe a 10 seconds top. Not too bad 4k screen is awesome. that was a major dealbreaker for me when selecting a computer. I do alot of photography work so I definetely wanted that. Cons...trackpad is glitchy. Usually if you touch the screen it behaves itself after that. runs a little hot and loud if cpu usuage is high. But not a huge deal...I hope not anyway I am by no means a expert. Battery life is good. being upplugged on full brightness doing whatever you want it should last a few hours. you can change settings to last longer but I do not like to. touchscreen and tablet mode seem to work fineonmine. oh and audio is great for a laptop. not super loud but very full windows 10 doesnt suck like windows 8 did. I was worried about that. all in all very nice computer.

I got this laptop for college with the thought of doing some picture editing in the future. I have had the laptop for about two months now, and it has held up great with the in and out of my back pack every day. The only complaints I have is, it is a huge fingerprint magnet, the battery life is short (about 3-4 hours), and without the included sub the speakers are quiet. It runs fast, charges fast (within 2 hours), has a nice long charging cable, good graphics, and is fairly light weight. The included sub speaker helps the sound tremendously, but I find myself using headphones more often. Definitely a great buy!

So far this laptop has been amazing with a few minor annoyances but not worth docking a star. Let's get into it. Pros: beautiful 4K display - 4K videos over the AC wireless network streamed nicely - SSD is zippy, paired with a 2TB HDD, space is plentiful - 16gb ram which is overkill for my needs but I don't have to worry about upgrading later - thunderbolt USB C port - I like the design although the gap between the monitor and keyboard is different. Will take some getting used to. Cons: the keyboard seems a bit crowded, if your a muscle memory typer it can take some getting used to - the mouse pad feels glossy and slick like a smartphone screen, can make it odd to use sometimes - sound is great (not loud but clear) with the subwoofer, subpar without, but let's be honest, Bluetooth your $100-150 headphones to them and move on - Asus offers suggested apps upon first use, some useful, most not, but seemed optional. Other thoughts: it may be a bit heavy for some - battery life advertises at 5hr, my guess is disabling 4K res and only using the HDD for storage instead of programs, you could squeeze another 1 or 2 hours out if it but I haven't tested this. Conclusion - I got this at $1099 through early Black Friday deals for elite members and I'm very happy with my decision. If I can get 5 years out of it it'll be money well spent.
