I have loved this computer. I havent had any problems that has been significant to complain about. The only thing I can agree with is the ac adapter. Its not the greatest design and i dont like how the cord is sensitive and not secured staying in its charging port. But yes I love for graphics and art.

It just seems like I either got a bad one or my expectations were too high. After reading the specs I was wowed by the price. I thought for sure this thing would have no issues with any task. Well I knew it couldn't handle high end gaming but I don't play AAA titles on max settings. But anyway, after a few months with this machine I have to say I am not at all pleased. My biggest gripe is that it just seems to lag and run slow in things like Windows Explorer, Chrome/Firefox/Edge. For example, in Windows explorer when I scroll it lags and you can see a trail (best way i can describe it) after the text in the bottom left of the window. Then it finally catches up and looks fine. Don't get me started on the scrolling in browsers. Pages load so slow, you have to wait for the entire page to load before scrolling at a normal speed. If you try before it loads it just freezes and stutters as it scrolls. I'm thinking about taking it back but I have done any testing to see if there is something causing the issues I have. Thank heavens I got the extended warranty.

ASUS HAS TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! The Motherboard failed in 65 days (just outside of my best buy warranty). There were blue screens, the fan would get really loud and wouldn't shut off without a hard reset. Clicking Noises. I had to go to Asus for service. They had me return the unit to a service center because they have no local techs. They determined it was a failed Motherboard so they replaced it. After they finished, they returned it back (a process that took nearly 4 weeks). I got the system back and within 5 days of having arrived the hard drive began making clicking noises!!! This is a service center that JUST BARELY REVIEWED THE PRODUCT! ASUS has no ability to make exceptions to help someone out. It's all about screwing you over. They will not reimburse for software that was lost during the process. So, I am $100 poorer and I have spent weeks working through issues only to find out that they want me to do it all over again. NEVER BUY ASUS PERIOD!

Powerful, solid build, responsive screen, and every feature I could want. Would buy another if I needed an additional one. Never owned an Asus before this one, but would buy one again.

I love this laptop. I did about seven months of research before I made the purchase. The value is tremendous. I just passed my 1 year mark with it and I'm still happy!

I am going to break down my review on different specs that the computer has and why i think its overrated and has outdated specs. SSD/HDD- I tested the SSD and its very slow. The writing speeds are just slow to today's standard. The 2TB is even more slow! Its a 5400RPM Hard drive! 1/5 Screen- The screen is AWFUL, sure its a 4k panel but it doesn't look like a 4k panel. Its super reflective, it has a yellowish tint to it and its not bright at all. Combine a reflective panel with a dim screen.... formula for one of the worst panel I've seen on a laptop this price range. 2/5 The Discrete video card is also outdated! This card has to be at least 2 years old. The new Generation from Nvidia is the GTX10 series. 3/5 The keyboard- I am not a big fan of this keyboard. You have to apply a lot of pressure to press the keys as you type. The key travel is also not good. The only nice thing is that it has a full number pad. The placement of the keyboard is awkward too. 3/5 Trackpad- I dont like it but i also dont dislike it either. Its ok, windows laptops are not known for having the best trackpads. Construction Material- The design is OK, its outdated. OMG look at those bezels! It definitely doesn't scream 2017. Again that screen! its awful! Its also a finger print magnet! 2/5 PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP. FOR THE PRICE THIS LAPTOP IS GOING FOR, YOU CAN BUY A BETTER MACHINE WITH A BETTER PANEL. IT'S REALLY OUTDATED, OVERPRICE AND OVERRATED! I AM RETURNING MINE AND NEVER BUYING AN ASUS AGAIN.

Fantastic laptop, better than any of my previous computers

I have purchased two Asus laptops from Best Buy including two Q534U models. and both had major hardwar failures requiring shipment to Asus for repair. They had my laptop for over 3 months, replaced it with a different models due to lack of parts, and two of the replacements they sent were defective and untested on arrival. The third replacement died less than a year later. It took months of daily phone calls, threats, harassing multiple departments, and threatening legal action just to get responses from Asus. Asus may as well be it’s own country with its own bureaucracy that takes an act of God to get anything done. You’ll have better luck getting a local road paved and traffic lights added than getting a successful repair or communication from Asus. Don’t waste your time, save yourself some stress and heartache, and avoid this brand. The laptop is amazing performance-wise until it breaks, and EVERY Asus laptop I have owned breaks within a year if not sooner, and that is where your major headache begins. Avoid this brand!

Good specs, but the poor battery life (lasting < 4 months even after following the suggested battery maintenance) really puts a damper on this laptop's benefits. I bought this specifically for traveling due to its light weight and small size, but unfortunately it's need for constant AC power renders it worthless for travel now. An online search shows battery issues appear to plague the ASUS brand with little acknowledgement from the company. The pros are not overwhelming, but it does have a very fast boot time. At this price, however, I expected a bit more speed for my $$. I am finding that overall processing speeds lag a bit when directly compared to my older Dell (8GB/i7). In hindsight, I wish I would have stuck with a Dell/Toshiba, but hopefully a new battery will help for a bit. **Final Note** Accessing the battery (or other internal components) require the entire base plate be unscrewed and removed. It requires a T5 TORX bit (T4 if you're careful), which the average user may not have sitting around.

I purchased this laptop over a year ago with Geeksquad warranty. While it is a nice laptop, it crashes randomly since I bought it. Geeksquad was unable to fix it, so I sent it to ASUS. It has been in service four times and never fixed. ASUS will not give me a replacement. Both HP and DELL have provided me much better support. A complete waste of $1300...

I got this to replace my OLD Asus G71. It took for everf to start and then it would lock up. Took it back and went a different route.
