    great laptop but with caveat

the reason i give this a 4 is because even though i have access to play store apps, far too many are not compatible with this chromebook. i have a smaller chromebook, which i bought 3 months prior to this one to try our chromebook, and i can use any app on playstore on it without problems. it shouldn't matter that this is larger and more powerful. there should be a standard with chromebooks that you can access and use all the apps in play store

Broke our old chromebook. This is the second replacement! May be even better than the first! Moves fast, hasnt froze, plenty of memory! We use for school and cpu games! My child says the picture quality is better too! We went from a 14in to this 15in,not a noticeable difference. I thought it might be too big but its not.

It’s a decent computer with great resolution and I love the keyboard material. However, chrome book isn’t very suitable for my cyber security courses and I waited to long to return and get one more suitable.

I really couldn't be happier with this Chromebook. It's really fast with the Core i3 and the Harmon speakers sound good too. I've been playing Stadia games on it with an Xbox controller and it's just as smooth as playing on my TV with the Stadia controller. Boots up instantly and launches Linux apps like Gimp just as fast. Highly Recommend!

    Great large Chromebook with numberpad

Overall I like this machine. At 15.6" it's really too big to take with me on the go (My 14" HP X360 Chromebook is my goto for that), but at home I appreciate the large screen for editing documents and spreadsheets. This is basically a stationary machine for home use. Unique to this machine is a delete key and numberpad both of which are uncommon for Chromebooks. I really like these features. The micro-sd slot is very difficult to use. it's hard to get the disk all the way into the slot, and it doesn't eject fully on its own. I have to use a small swiss army tweezers to manually pull the disk out. I also agree with other reviewers that the touch pad is very sensitive. Not broken at all, but it does respond to very light touches. Speed and build are impressive.

Bought this for my dad. Excellent screen for price. Sometimes freezes and has to be restarted to work - not sure if it’s the laptop or chromebook glitch. Happy with it. Nice build. 4.5/5

Perfect Chromebook for my needs. Large display with lit keyboard and number pad. Love the power USB C ports on either side for charging and able to charge my phone rapidly. The con that the display isnt bright enough is a non issue for my needs. For the sale price of $399 cant really ask for more

Take this review with a grain of salt. I bought the open-box satisfactory and excellent versions, and had to return because the battery was bad or the fan was too loud and sounded broken. Perhaps if this was new, it would be better. The OS is easy to use, the features are nice. I would have kept if the hardware on the open-box condition was working properly.

I'm still learning how to use my new Chromebook, but so far it's been great. I like that it has a large touch-screen, a key pad, and a place for my headset. I would have preferred a color other than white on the outside, but it hasn't gotten dirty yet so maybe it won't be an issue.

When I think of Chromebooks, I usually think of an underpowered, small, cheap laptop which barely qualifies as a PC. This is not one of those. The machine leverages a modern processor with the simplicity and speed that comes from Chrome OS. The screen is bright, sharp, and keeps up with fast video. You will not confuse this with the machines handed out by schools for student use. This has speed and stamina worthy of the price tag. My wife’s Windows laptop was on its last legs. The camera is glitchy and the system has been slowing down. It’s about 4 years old, so it’s not surprising. We looked at some Windows machines to replace it with and came across this Chromebook. It has similar specs as a decent Windows machine. It’s thin and light (for a 15” screen) and ultimately performs faster on the most common tasks. My wife is a teacher and her school has standardized on Google apps for all their classes. With the Chromebook, she gets instant boot times to the apps that she needs. It also connects to her phone, so all her notifications come up on her PC screen. What I like most about it is no support needed. The OS is more secure than Windows since each app runs in a separate memory space by design. We have no need to purchase Office licenses. Updates are handled automatically by the system. There was an initial update when I first set up the machine. After that, it’s been seamless. The camera delivers a sharp image, which is fairly wide angle. When using it with Zoom and Google Meet, folks on the other end have have complimented the sound quality and video. The Zoom interface for Chomebook is a little different than Windows, but it’s easy to get used to. The back lit keyboard is spacious and responsive. The lighting is understated which makes it usable in darker rooms without impacting those around. Those used to function keys in Windows apps like Excel will have a bit of an adjustment period. For everyone else, it’s a joy. The USB-A port is useful for older peripherals such as a wireless mouse or keyboard. The HDMI port drives 4K with no visible aliasing. Dual USB-c ports allow power on one side and a docking station or other accessories on the other side. Charging is fast and the battery lasts for about 5 hours of actual usage. Whenever you close the lid, it will hibernate to use no battery. When the lid is opened again, the machine boots to the state it was last open. The build quality is solid with little to no flexing, even held with one hand. Overall, I’m happy we decided to move to this Chromebook from Windows. I’m confident that it will be more reliable over time while still delivering the performance and flexibility we need.
