Openbox warranty coverage is inconsistent

When I called ASUS, I realized that there was only one month of warranty left, whereas according to Best Buy, the warranty is for 1 year from the date of purchase. As per ASUS support, ASUS only provides 3 months warranty for any Openbox item. This is the primary reason for this low rating.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. It is correct there there is a 90 days/3 months warranty period from ASUS on open box purchases. If the device is new there is at least a 1 year warranty. Since this device was purchased through Best Buy you could also get it serviced through them since they are an authorized service provider for ASUS laptops sold through them. The machine was great other than that, and it would freeze up on new web pages I hadn't been to quite often. Ended up returning it. Once they fix it, great deal.
