Fantastic Chromebook of this Size!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It has been about three weeks since purchasing this, my first Chromebook. In that time I've had to travel and work from it each day. I had done research and at the time this was the best larger screen chromebook for the money (on sale, this is a steal). This laptop is speedy, easy to use, and works fine with multiple windows, streaming video, video calling, and even installing Steam and playing some games (done via a linux install). Battery life seems to last most of the day for me, while logged in with two accounts and an average of about 15 browser tabs open. Charging is quick. I have not used the full size HDMI out, but it's nice that it's there and I won't need any USB-C hub. It's on the slightly heavier side for a laptop these days, but that's entirely because of the 15.6" screen and that's the tradeoff with a bigger footprint computer. It feels sturdy. I've played with using the computer with tablet mode and it works fine. At nearly 5 pounds, I just don't see myself using it in tablet mode, as it's just a bit too large and heavy for that, although I can see the partial tablet mode if you needed to present something to others. Bottom line: hardware wise, if you're looking for a 15.6" screen laptop, I think this is the best you can get as of summer 2021. My only words of warning are specific to the Chrome operating system and not this particular model of laptop: my work email account is a Google Workspaces account, so my computer account is "managed" by my work admins. This means I don't have access to all the settings on my own computer. My personal account when logged into this same computer does not have these issues. This makes sense from an IT perspective, but I wasn't prepared that I wouldn't be able to do things like use a PIN login or use the helpful android phone / ChromeOS links that I can use via my personal google account, as my work account has these disabled. This is certainly not a negative, but something others may wish to be aware of, as I was not when getting my first Chromebook and I'm sure IT didn't care for all of my questions. =)

Open box is always a place to look for deals!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was a great little computer for the price. I bought an open box. However, I returned it because the person it was for didn't want the restrictions of a Chromebook with certain operating systems. Got a different ASUS instead. I have had ASUS for 7 years and find them excellent for the price.

An Excellent Chromebook!
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using Chromebooks since the CR-48 prototype in 2010. Since then, Chromebooks have been getting better in every way: better screens, better processors, better chassis, etc. This Chromebook is the peak of all the improvements made in the past 12 years (a 4K OLED screen notwithstanding). The addition of the number keypad is very convenient and the keyboard backlight is, for me, indespensable.

Good for browsing, youtube, email
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great budget laptop for elderly parents who just use it for browsing, watching YouTube and checking email. It’s quite speedy for a chrome book. Only drawback was requiring password everytime and once the screen remained black and the system had to be hard reset.

I paid $428
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recommend you spend near $400 when buying. The screen is my only minor complaint. It does not get very bright and is not the most colorful. IMO, this Chromebook is designed for office work/school work. I really like that it has a lot port options, 8 Gigs of ram, an SSD, and a touch-screen. Great product but not worth above $450 IMO

Chromebook for price of Windows laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First try was open-box certified, but the right speaker sound was muted. So returned and purchased New and all good so far. Keyboard is backlit, screen displays amazing detail, all good! For price, you may as well get Windows laptop, but I only need for web surfing and editing Google docs, so prefer the auto updates and not having to worry about the operating system.

Very nice product
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second Chromebook, I have been a PC user since windows 95. Im always looking for an alternative to the buggy Microsoft OS. The ASUS Chromebook seemed like a product worth trying. First off Im very impressed with the build quality of this device. It is a bit bigger than I am used to, but the almost 16 inch screen is great for working and watching videos. The unit is powered by an Intel Core 11th generation i3 processor with 8 gb of RAM and 128SSD storage. This is a very fast and powerful device. It powers through any work, web surfing or video watching. Battery life is so far very good. I have used this several times a day for over a week and im still on the first initial charge. My normal daily useage is about 1-2 hours so it has more than enough battery life for my needs. It also comes with Harman/kardon speakers which are ok. They are good enough for movies, podcasts and music if loud bold is not what you are looking for. My only complaint, which really is not the fault of the ASUS Chromebook is it is a bit heavy. But I'm used to carrying around an iPad or my Microsoft Surfacebook which are smaller and lighter. I would highly recommend this ASUS Chromebook for anyone looking for a speedy and powerful alternative to Apple or Microsoft OS.

Great Product
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great product and exactly what I needed. I am a heavy Google/Chrome user so having a Chromebook handles 99% of my needs. Even the other 1% I'm always able to find an alternative whether through an extension or other online resource. I would recommend this to anyone that can handle being without Window specific products. Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides and so much more should be able to cover many needs you may have.

Great quality, worth the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've only had this device for 2 weeks, but so far so good. Can't beat it for the price. Keyboard is solid, first laptop I genuinely do not need a third party Bluetooth keyboard. Bluetooth mouse is necessary for EVERY laptop so I cant hold that against it. If you do just use the mousepad there is no zoom in/zoom out feature on the mouse pad, thank goodness!
