    Asus Customer Service is Terrible.

I got this laptop at a wonderful open-box deal. I was so excited, it was the exact one I was looking at on the floor and when I found that they had one available and open-box I was sold. Took it home. Sound didn't work. Did troubleshooting with windows, they couldn't figure it out. Called ASUS, instead of even trying to help me they told me to do a factory reset and to send it in. During the factory reset, my daughter turned it off, causing an additional issue. So I contacted them again and told them what had happened and they told me that I would of course still need to send it in, and now pay for shipping, which sure, fine. Asked the representative that I was speaking to at the time to note that in addition to the files being corrupted, there was still the original issue of the sound. The representative told me they noted that. Print out the form, reiterated BOTH problems on said form. Sent it in. Contacted ASUS briefly before it was mailed back to verify that BOTH problems had been resolved, and they said YES. Got it back. Sound STILL didn't work. Called them. Went through troubleshooting. Said there was no notes anywhere to indicate that the sound was an issue. Said I would have to send it back. I requested to have express shipping due to the inconvenience. Sat on hold for 30 minutes waiting to speak to a supervisor. Best that could be offered was 2-day. Was almost told I had to buy new packaging as the safety of the laptop couldn't be guaranteed with the same packaging, but upon a frustrated response they said as long as the packaging I originally had it in was in good condition it would be fine. Told me if there was any physical damage to the laptop that I had notified them about that the laptop would be returned unrepaired. I mentioned there was a small, nearly existent scratch on the top, as the small cosmetic issue allowed me a greater discount for the laptop. They said that wouldn't count. Now I'm sitting here contemplating returning this to best buy versus going through this process all over again with asus, as it has only been 10 days since purchase and at this point this whole experience has left a terrible taste in my mouth and heavy concerns that if even this repair were to go well, if I have any future issues how I can rely on ASUS to do right by me? I am so disgusted by this whole mess. Look at asus customer service ratings before deciding to purchase this product; it's an amazing 1-star overall everywhere I looked. Which is a terrible shame, because besides my issues, and the terrible customer service, this really is a really, really nice laptop.

This laptop has been an amazing purchase. Have had no issues and is lighting fast. Defiantly a fan of Asus. Geek squad has been amazing as well with helping with any issues that arise as well as setting it up for me.

    Not a Windows10 computer - Buy the Win8.1 version

Although it's a nice 2-1 laptop it does not have a clean Win10 installation. It requires activation when you start it up and the activation license is invalid. Best Buy and ASUS will advise you to reinstall Win8.1 and upgrade for free. Buy the cheaper Win8.1 version instead since you get a free upgrade either way.

Horrible computer BAD customer service with ASUS

This has been the worst computer I have ever owned. I took it into the Geek Squad, the person I spoke with said yes there is definitely something wrong. The recommendation I received was to go home and call ASUS. That is due to the 1 year warranty. That makes sense. I called Asus, I had to send it in. They supposedly fixed it. I had to call back in October, the guys only recommendation was to do a factory reset. He said make sure you do a back up. I let him know there is nothing on this computer because it will not run. So then I had to call them again yesterday. The only recommendation the guy had for me was to do another factory reset. Seriously, is this what I have to do on a monthly basis? Everyone that I have asked about this name brand always says that this is such a great computer. I read all the reviews and I am totally jealous. Because I have not had that experience. I am better off using my 8 year old Dell. Honestly, it has been horrible.

    Too many problems.

I read, researched and did a lot of considering before purchasing this Asus - 2-in-1 15.6" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive laptop. I read that Asus was one of the top brands on the market. I have had my laptop for 4 days and been on the phone to Asus 3 times. The last time for an hour and a half. Still no solution to my problem. Like always, they want to point the finger at someone else saying it's not the problem with their product. How many times have you heard that when dealing with tech support? The cursor would not show up on the screen. Then the numbers on the keyboard would work, but not the letters. (I guess that it is true, don't always believe what you read about a product.) I am still convinced that my Windows Vista desktop is faster than this 4th generation i7 windows 10 laptop. Now my biggest concern is how to get the info I transferred from Vista to WIN10 out of my laptop. I had it backed up to a Western Digital external hard drive, but it died as well too. Second one of those that died. The Vista desktop as been wiped clean so I can scrap it out. NO, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO A FRIEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Extremely poor performing laptop

I bought this laptop to replace an old Sony Vaio laptop. I did quite a bit of online research before my purchase. This laptop pales in comparison to a 7-year old Vaio. Very plastic, flimsy feel. It is difficult to get the cursor to stop floating out of place. The touchpad is almost useless. If you type quickly, the laptop stalls out and you're left with the infamous spinning wheel. It zooms in and out uncontrollably. I purchased the laptop primarily for word processing and I'm not certain it can do anything more complicated. Everything unrelated to the laptop is great - Windows 10, Outlook 365, and Best Buy Geek Squad. If I could return this, I'd purchase a Dell Inspiron.

    Asus poor laptops/computers

I have bought 2 high end Asus laptops in the range of $2000-$2500 (not from best buy) and both have failed with several major problems after 3-4 years. Support is ok but they overall did not fix the problem to original standard. It ended up to be somewhat of a workaround. Stick with trusty laptop brands. Asus is great as motherboard manufacture, thats it. Rest of their products are unreliable and advertised as higher performing, so you will pay much higher. I like to get what I pay for, quality and reliability.
