Way too confusing in setting this up. If I could return it I would but it's passed the time to return. It hasn't helped at all and if anything has made my connection slower. I do believe that if i knew how to set it up correctly that it would have to help but I believe I don't have it set up right

After 3 days of use the 2.4ghz band stopped. Reboot brought it back but a week later it stopped completely. Working with ASUS support for over a week and now I have to rma for a new one. 5ghz still works and is very strong. Very poor quality for a new product. Hoping 2nd will work.

I bought this wireless router but within a week it was cutting in and out. I would get good download speed then it would slow to a crawl. I would then have to reboot the router for it to get back to proper speed. I ended up returning it for a linksys wrt3200acm. I have not had any issues with it.

Second one and I've owned it for exactly 25 days. Worked well up until I pushed the WPS to connect a printer. That feature never came on, but the router went black. Rebooted it 3 times. Each time it gets to the point where it's about to connect to the Internet, then goes black again, completely powering down. It's a brick.
I should add that I got this second one as a Geek Squad replacement because the first one that I had for about 18 months had an antenna suddenly pop off one day and that shorted out the signal of the other 3 antenna.

This router almost makes the grade with its touted content filtering manageability falling short. In addition, with the ability to turn off the internet for specific nodes (my kid’s game stations) it didn’t work. I had to do rate limiting instead.

The 2G band on this unit will fail within 6 months and then you'll get the distinct pleasure of doing an RMA with ASUS. Why is this product still being sold when there's a long history of problems with the 2G band? Check BB and Newegg and your eyes will be opened. This is the second time I've bought an ASUS product (motherboard about 7 years ago) and yep, this is the second product I had to RMA. ASUS and I are parting ways....forever!!!

I was really excited for this router but it was a giant let down. The GUI never showed all the devices that were connected even if it was wired. Some devices never showed up, ever. The wireless speeds on every laptop and iPad were 5-6Mbps. If you updated anything you couldn’t access the router anymore. I did a complete factory reset about 6 times during the month we owned it and it took hours of being unplugged to reset all the way after the reset. Talked ASUS and they were nice but couldn’t solve any of the issues. Returned to BestBuy.

2.4ghz radio failed

If I could give 0 stars for this router I would. The 2.4 ghz wireless failed within 5 days and the 5ghz stopped soon after. The wired connections still worked fine. The router itself worked but what good is a wireless router without wireless? Resets and firmware updates did nothing to bring the radio back. Before it failed completely, my 2.4 ghz devices would get disconnected constantly. Be very wary of the hardware in this router! Looks great on paper but in practical use it’s terrible. Love Asus products in general. Maybe I just got a bad one? I returned it and am going to try the Blue Cave instead.

Day 1: router works great
Day 2: frequent drops on 2.4 GHz. Internet runs at about 2mbps on 2.4 while 5ghz runs fine at over 500mbps
Day 3: factory reset router, update firmware. Situation didn't resolve. 2.4ghz dropping more often than before.
Day 4: 2.4 GHz completely unusable. Can't connect at all. Access Asus router to determine problem. Router is broadcasting 2.4ghz on channel 0 (illogical) and is stuck there. Can't manually select channel because auto channel select is only option. Assuming 2.4 GHz radio has died.
Returning.
