I purchased this after a family member’s WiFi had been improved in their house. After easily setting up the router, I went through the settings and picked how I want the router to handle daily operations. Since I now work fully remote, there is a Qos setting on the router that will prioritize certain applications or uses for the network. I have noticed my home’s coverage has expanded and that in case I need more coverage this router is compatible with mesh networks. Best purchase, highly recommend.

Best mid priced router for the dollar. Has good range, was easy set up, has better speeds with less drops than the tp link ac9 it replaces.

I have xfinity 1gb plan but would only get as high as 600mbps with their factory modem/router wifi 6 xb7, i bought this along with Netgear nighthawk cm1200 modem and my speeds have never been lower than 1gbps, its a gaming router so it also enhanced my gaming experience dropped my ping to 22 when I was getting 45-55 with xfinity modem/router (tested in blackout)...also the app for this router is very cool, its tricky setting it up at first not going to lie but once you get its easy to use

    Replacement for so-so router

I needed to replace a router that had a failing WAN port. This replacement was for a Linksys router. The router was only 3 years old when the WAN port started to fail. Also, I didn't like that the Linksys router had to be set up with an app. There was not the ability to use a browser until it was initially set up. Even then, the controls were limited. This router has much control and hopefully the quality will be excellent and the features will carry me 5 years into the future.

You're paying a premium for the fast speeds and widest coverage. Easy to set up and can handle multiple devices accessing it at the same time. Highly recommend it.

It gets hot under the collar

Have it supporting 40+ devices connected to a 1Gbps network and 1Gbps WAN connection. It gets hot, sometimes hot enough to overheat and degrade performance. Occasionally it locks up requiring a reboot. The GUI is very configurable and setup for most users is easy as pie. The USB3 port doesn't work anymore but I understand that is an ASUS problem. Enabling all the features within the unit means you can't hit 1Gbps speeds under load. Disabling all the features, got me as close as I was going to get about 987Mbps.

Bought this to replace an ASUS ac1900. The old router was also great, but I noticed some weak/dead spots in the house. This new router has better range and has eliminated those weak spots. It is about twice as big(physically), though, so keep that in mind if that's a concern. I've always liked the ASUS router software as well. I use it to set time limits on individual devices (think kids' devices), set maximum download speeds for individual devices, and to monitor what devices/apps are using the most internet traffic each month. Overall a great product/software combination.

This is my second ASUS Dual Band W-Fi Router and both are rocking my home with Wi-Fi!! The older model has been working flawlessly for over four years and so far the this upgraded AC3100 is meeting my needs. We are not power users - one TV, two computers, a pair of cell phones and an occasional tablet, but the signal is strong and flawless. If I buy a third home and need another router, it will be an ASUS. (p.s. -- and, it looks impressive, like a little piece of Sci-Fi on my shelf!!)

Fairly easy to setup router with a ton of features. I paired this with my Arris modem. No major issiues. The version of firmware that shipped needed updating. The update through the interface failed as nd had to put the router in rescue mode and update with firmware restore utility, but finally got it to update. The only other difficulty i had was that you cannot hide the SSID of the guest network through the GUI, but you can telnet ok nto the router and issue an nvram command to hide it. Othereise I'm verry happy with the purchase.

It works great. It has many options and great speed for a gaming family like mine, especially since we have gaming servers. My only complaint, and the reason for one less star, is that the routing tables take a short while to route accordingly. I set up port forwarding to one of my game servers, but was not even able to even ping it until about 30 minutes later. Now that it has been running for some time I don't have any problems with it.

This is by far the best router for the money! Unless you need more than 4 ethernet ports there is nothing this router cannot do. It is also a dream for gamers with it's multiple options for giving gaming packets priority and faster down/upload speeds. I have this in my mother's house where I need a fast connection and liked it so much I also purchased one to replace my home router. Also the coverage area is very good without an extender or mesh system in a 2000sq ft single family home.
