Worst Router ever!.... Not only was this router expensive but it has been glitchy and problematic since I turned it on. I tried calling Asus during the day 2 times (regular hours 12pm and another day at 3PM) but instead of speaking to a customer service agent within th US, I was immediately transferred to India where I was met with "sorry sir, have your tried returning It?" I in-fact did try, but Best Buy had blocked me for returns due to exchanging 2 routers last year, so I was told by Best Buy: "sorry, but nothing we can do." I even bought the geek squad product replacement and was denied the ability to at-least exchange and hope a new one would work. I was told I also couldn't do a product replacement, even though I purchased the service. Aside from my terrible experience with Best Buy and Asus, this router is ugly looking, drops wifi signals everyday, and barely covers my parts of my home. Poor manufacturing and terrible customer service from Asus and Best Buy. I foresee me not shopping at Best Buy hardly ever in the future. And I'll never buy Asus again, that's for sure.

If your looking for a good router this is the one, my self I needed a router to cover the whole house, this router has imesh system but didn't need to use it, the router improved weak spots by about 40%.

Netgear broke down wifi was not working only ethernet. Went with the Asus because was worried about Netgear not patching several of their routers. So far so good.

Is really good the app is also great would be better if it was three instead of two but it's still really good a really good price I had the purchase to do over I would have purchase the same thing

This is a great router. It not only has very fast WiFi speeds, it also allowed me to play online games while streaming 4k at the same time. My previous router would not allow me to do this.

I wish we would have pulled the trigger and spent the money on this router sooner. I play a lot of games by streaming them to my laptop, the quality has been amazing!

Used this to replace my old router. This one has much greater range with good signal on all three floors of our home. We have had no issues at all with it.

Before we installed this router, it was difficult - and sometimes impossible - to get a signal throughout the house. Now we have a reliable signal 95% of the time. So glad we invested in this router.

This is a great router even as good as it is i still had a dead spot on the opposite side of my home. i got a second one for the meshing feature and it connected and fixed the issue right away

Easy Setup - No Issues so far. Replaced my older Linksys with this router. Good Wi-Fi with good speed through all of 2100 sq ft house. Yeah it's pricey but ya gotta have good Wi-Fi right?

First one worked for 2 days then would no longer broadcast 5ghz. I factory reset it both through the GUI and the button on the back. After exchanging the new one has been flawless

I bought this router as a replacement for a router than was unable to reliably penetrate three walls and reach a far bedroom. This ASUS router has done the job and has not had a problem since the purchase.

Got this to help stretch out wifi at our office. Where all other wifi routers i tried never reach our offices located in the back of our space. This router gives a signal and then some back there now. Good investment.

Swapped this out after a hack of our previous system. The hardware is solid and I appreciate the mesh abilities. The SW allows us to monitor kids and screen time.

for whatever reason my home eats wifi signals, still do not know why. This is the best wifi I have ever had so would recommend it Lots of options, but defaults works just fine, Buy it plug it in and use it

My home has many concrete walls, so propagating the wifi signal has been very tough. after many different routers without success, I resorted to hardwiring. Then I found the AC 3100, a great, and strong router.

I'd been impressed with my previous ASUS router which is why I purchased this one without reservation. It setup fairly easily and looks impressive but I found out quickly that unlike my previous experience this one was not going to go as well. I at first thought there might be something wrong with my ASUS nic so I starting running a series of tests. I noticed first that "Smart Connect" didn't work right. It would cause the network to stall which I think is probably related to the non functional 5g. Thankfully I had my old ASUS router to connect to which allowed me to finally narrow down the issue. I found that no matter what I did I could not connect to the new routers 5 g even though it was showing a very strong signal and I could connect to my old router that had weaker signal. I'm glad I figured this out in time so I can get this exchanged. I'll go with another one. If 5G works on the replacement and there aren't any other problems then I'll up this reviews stars. A lot of people probably have the same issue and don't even know it.

While no router is perfect the Asus family of routers offer second to none router interface that keeps improving over time. This is the same router as the RT-AC88U but with 4 ports rather than 8 ports!

This is a very good router and asus is pretty reputable I had it for 5 years now still pull strong signal never have lag in my gaming

I purchased this router because I thought that by spending over $250 for a router I'd get high speed wireless and good coverage. I did get both for about 5 hours then the 5 g disappeared. I called Asus customer support and held for 20 minutes. While I did that I reset the router. The 5 g came back up so I hung up with customer support. The 5 g then quit working overnight. I called customer support again. I waited about 20 minutes and someone picked up the phone. I described my problem and I was informed their computers were down and from my description a technician should probably look at the router. I said no problem when can you schedule someone. I was told "I can't our computers are down." I asked what did I have to do to schedule someone. I was told call back tomorrow. I emailed the customer support listed on their literature and read that the customer support usually responds in 24 hours. It's been over a week and no one has emailed or called. I returned the product to Best Buy.
