Overall it’s a quality Chromebook. Only part it’s lacking is the speakers, it’s VERY quiet. But I guess you get what you pay for.

Over the years I’ve grown accustomed to using a multitude of higher end flagship laptops to where I’ve always dismissed chromebooks and the more budget tier of laptops. However, after using this Chromebook from Asus for my child I’m extremely impressed with how far chromebooks have come. Asus has checked nearly all the boxes here from a budget perspective in a laptop for general everyday use. First right out of the box Asus has shipped out a product that has that premium feel to it even though the price may be deceiving. The bezels are much more minimal than expected. Then the feel of the keys and responsiveness of the trackpad were right on par with many higher end laptops you may find. The portability component is great as it is extremely lightweight and minimalistic from a size perspective. Then the connectivity hits all the boxes again as it has your most commonly used USB-A, USB-C, and HDMI ports so it again leaves nothing to be desired there. Naturally at the price point and with the superior aesthetics I envisioned that the performance was where they cut costs. I was again wrong here though as the Chrome Operating System has come a long way! The bootup time was right there with laptops 5x its price and the seamlessness of accessing various applications was buttery smooth. Watching movies presented no issues and again for a full HD resolution screen I came away impressed again. Even the battery life makes it through a full days use. Overall, Asus has done an absolute fantastic job with everything they’ve packed in here at this price point as it is a near perfect laptop if you need something simple for everyday tasks. Think of it as a super-fast web browser with a keyboard. It's perfect for things like checking email, surfing the internet, watching YouTube, or working on documents/spreadsheets in Google Docs and Sheets. The portability and battery life again make it perfect for everyday use. So for children or those just looking for a basic laptop that don’t require it to perform intensive tasks like video editing or gaming I would highly recommend this laptop!
