Excellent quality Chromebook that runs super smooth and fast. Glad I got on sale makes it worth every penny. I love the color white and the light grey keyboard makes it very nice looking IMO. I would rather have had a back lighted key board over a touch screen anyway as I don't find a touch that useful in a small laptop but it does work well regardless.

So this is my first time experience with a Chromebook. I have heard different stories of people that had mixed reviews that loved and hated them. Well this is my experience and i actually loved it. Outer connections you have two USB port's and an HDMI for an external monitor. One nice touch is there is a shutter for the camera and it's orange in color so you can see that it is closed so if by chance your computer gets hacked you can see your camera is closed so people can not see you through the camera, very nice touch. Also has one USB type C . The looks are very pleasing to the eye, it's white in color with backlit keys. Once i turned on the system it simply goes to the star up process to get you up and running. It's an easy step by step follow the prompts' you do not have a google account set up you simply set one up and finish with the setup and you are up and running. It seemed very fast and responsive working around in the settings. When i was browsing the web using google chrome of course it was very snappy loading the websites. It runs smooth and i did a couple re-boots and it booted up very fast. For my first use of a google Chromebook i was very pleased.

For over a week, my experience with the ASUS 14" Chromebook Plus Laptop – Intel Core i5-1335U - 8GB Memory - 128GB SSD – Pearl White has been nothing short of exceptional. I’ve had many laptops over the years from many brands and each one has their own nuances about them. I have gaming laptops, 2-in-1’s, etc etc. I have probably the least amount of time with Chromebooks, but these are probably the most important in my household as both of my son’s use them for school. In this day and age I find it important to know how they use them and what capabilities they have so I can try to avert and online threats or issues when it comes to their usage. This laptop is by no means meant to compete with higher end platforms, but for schoolwork, browsing the internet and watching online videos, this is perfect. Not to big, not too small. The screen size of 14” makes it super portable and provides good battery life. My son’s are 4, 12 and 13 so they live in a world of YouTube and various online video games. This laptop is perfect for that. I also liked that I could actually use this device to log into their school email accounts to check their homework status and calendars. This model comes with a 128gb of storage and 8GB of ram and has an advertised battery life of about 10 hours. Im the type to keep my devices plugged in or charged above 70% so I havent accurately evaluated the battery life. This came with Google Docs and Sheets installed, which are the two primary work related apps that I use, so I didnt need to download any 3rd party software. It has USB-A and C ports along with HDMI and a headphone jack. That is all I really need for my use and I wouldnt want to make the laptop larger just to have more ports. If I need them, I have peripherals that would allow me to add more ports. The screen can be laid flat against your desktop or solid surface, but I honestly dont know why that is a feature. If it folded behind itself so that it could used as a tablet, i would understand, but this seems like an unnecessary feature to me. Pros: - Lightweight, portable - Ample ports - Battery life - Included workflow software - Easy setup and can be used for my kids school accounts Cons: - Folding screen that only lays flat. Cannot be used as a tablet for game play or reading - Keyboard is not backlit

If you’re looking for a multifunctional laptop on the go, then the ASUS 14" Chromebook Plus Laptop fits the bill. This laptop is very lightweight yet powerful as it’s powered by the Intel Core i5-1335U which features 10 cores up to 4.6GHz performance. This CPU is akin to the older i7-1250 mobile cpu. Erosion in terms of power and performance. The drawback to this is the limit on power draw so may notice some slowdowns during intense usages. It also comes with 8GB of LPDDR5 ram which is suitable for this platform as I was able to run all google programs and surf multiple windows at once. I didn’t notice any slowdown as it was snappy and fast. With these laptops( chromebooks) storage is usually on the lower end because most information is easily stored in your Google drive etc. this unit came with 128GB ssd, which was snappy for everything I had loaded onto it. I downloaded pictures from the vacation I used it on in the Caribbean. Other features this laptop has is WiFi 6 with Bluetooth. The Battery on this is a 50Wrs and lasted me 4 days on normal usage. The screen is bright and is Full HD. Gaming is minimal, but it does run some basic games from the store. Overall this product is built well and delivers on performance. It worked well on travels and will be using this when I get home to use on the couch and take on the go! Overall the Asus 14” Chromebook

[PROS] Multiple ports: In an effort to replace the common laptop, this Chromebook keeps in line with them by offering a similar amount of ports. This design choice makes me feel prepared for a multitude of situations which is what I want to be. I was able to successfully connect to an external display while I had a USB hub plugged into the device. On a personal note, I’m also happy that the headphone jack was not abandoned as it has become on a number of newer devices. Pleasant Battery Life: I found myself satisfied being able to get through a workday with this device. On average, I was able to get about 8-9 hours with medium usage. This is an all-work-day battery as opposed to an all-day battery. Snappy Performance: This is what extremely impressed me about this Chromebook. Despite entry level specs, I got consistent performance from CX34 all around. Since I knew this device was designed for standard usage, I decided see how the CX34 responded when several applications were used over the span of few hours. Fortunately,y no dips in performance were found. [CONS] Small storage space: Despite being a Chromebook Plus, this device lacks in storage capacity. In my opinion, this device should have more memory than my phone which has 512GB of storage. The 128GB storage is disappointing and leaves more to be desired. [MIXED BAG] Design Choice: There are elements that I appreciate about the design, and other features that I’m not fond of. The laptop is lightweight, and I love the color. Yet, the Chromebook is still very much plastic and feels/seems odd around the chassis such as the placement of the grills or the outer edge of the lid. [CONCLUSION] I would summarize this ASUS CX34 Chromebook Plus a “jack of all trades” that’s decent at some. As a power user, it’s a step down as it relates to storage size/type, processor, and RAM. However, I found it very competent for most of my day to day tasks which is what it’s designed for. I find the this device more suitable for my travel/on-the-go needs and medium-sized productivity duties.

I purchased this through open box and I got it for about $300 cheaper than a new one. I was a little Larry since it was an open box item brought it home opened it up. You would’ve never known it had been purchased previously. It is even faster than my desktop and I love it.!!!!

The first thing I checked on the Asus Chromebook Plus CR3402 is the audio. It stinks. If you listen to the human voice, dialogue, speech, etc., the low-resolution and "enhancement" make the audio equivalent to reading very blurry text. That is, I can make out the words, but it is a strain, tiresome and irritating. The Chromebook speakers are loud enough, but they are unclear. The audio sounds much clearer through my classic Sony pro headphones that do not enhance sound. However, I do not want to be encumbered by headphones. It's time for consumers to demand high-definition audio in all their digital devices and applications. If I keep this Asus CR3402, I'll have to shop for and purchase a decent speaker for it. Another chore and another expense. Audio is just as important as visual. Maybe more important. It is human dialogue that conveys the story or information in films & podcasts. If Asus would just install a good high-definition speaker, they could enjoy the increased profit related to the better equipment. Why do they give that opportunity away? It isn't just Asus. It is an industry-wide problem. For instance, every time I buy a new Chromebook (this is #3), the speakers are never as good as the one I had before. The Toshiba had excellent audio. The HP had adequate audio. This Asus has poor audio.

I just bought this and while it seems to function flawlessly the misinformation about it having a baklit keyboard is pretty dissapointing. The grey and white already dont make it the easiest on the eyes and not having a backlight is basically a deal breaker. It's a shame because other than that it seems like a really nice machine.
