I like this router very much. Lots of features, easy to use interface with access from my phone. The only downside I've experienced is sometimes when I'm in a hurry, because it doesn't require a lot of handholding, a few of the controls aren't intuitively obvious.

I upgrade my ASUS router to WiFi 6 with a RT-AX88U and repeater (RP-AC1900) was not compatible with my upgraded router. I decided to switch my RP-AC1900 with the RT-AX88U and my ASUS mesh system is now a complete WiFi 6 mesh. The WiFi coverage is my stronger and faster overall.

I was using an RT-AC66U as my router combined with an RT-AC68U as an AP (the newer device supports most of the WiFi and is in a better location). The AC66U has hit end of life and was no longer receiving security updates. It also didn't work with Asus's AiMesh system. Now the RT-AC68U is the router, and the new AX86U is my primary WiFi Node. Getting it setup as an AiMesh node is not what you might expect. You bring it next to your main AiMesh router and then it "finds" it and configures. Once it configures, you manage both devices from a single web page. That includes firmware upgrades. It does make managing my network easier. What I haven't tested was to see whether physically walking from the AC68U to the AX86U is seamless in watching a video or being on a conference call. That was an issue with my previous setup (AC66U/AC68U). Overall, I'm pleased. I paid full price, but I regard making sure that I have a router that is fully supported and receiving updates an important part of a secure home system.

Very fast and stable. I have many wireless connections in the house and haven’t had any trouble at all. Coming from a net gear nighthawk router that gave me trouble all the time. Speed test on net gear was 80mbps and with this I’m 200+. Very satisfied. Would highly recommend without hesitation!

Great router. The range is good and the app is useful. Kind of expensive though.

This is the best router I have ever purchased. I also purchased a new cable modem at the same time. Before my internet used to go down 1 to 2 times per day for a couple minutes each time. Now my internet has not gone down since I purchased this equipment which is over a month ago.

This router is great i noticed immediately upon connecting all the devices that the speeds are excellent without any lag while on phone or using laptops and even gaming this is a great router and would highly recommend it for anyone lokking for a better option and great price for it also.

I purchased this to extend wifi around my house. I setup the RT-AX86U as an AI mesh node (using the same SSID). My primary router is RT-AX88U. The setup was fairly simple and seems to work fine. As I move around the house, my iPhone has no issue roaming between the primary and the node.

I upgraded my router from the last gen ASUS AC2900 and meshed the 2 together coupled with 2 more Asus Blue Cave routers and my house has coverage everywhere, that is the best part. You can mesh compatible Asus routers together so you don't have to get rid of your old equipment.

Replaces a 3 year old router, mainly for the link aggregation feature from my modem to the router. The user interface is easy to use and full of features. I also found my coverage improved with higher transfer rates in places in my house that were marginal before.

Great Router! I've had zero issues with it. I bought this router because my budget router from before was not working well in other apartment rooms. This router has no signal problems, and the software is simple to use while having some advanced features.

I recently upgraded to 800 mbps plan and my old modem router combo wasn't enough for that speed. So, I got a netgear modem and this router. Man this has great speeds and is consistent in connection. I mostly use this for gaming and I get great ping with almost no packet loss

I bought this to replace my old router. This one works great, Has a lot of add on`s. I am not a gamer. But if you are. It will handle it. If you need a new router. I do not think you will go wrong with this one. I read all the specs before I bought it. So far working very well.

This router was easy to setup, provides great wifi throughout my (small) house, and has plenty of hardwire connections for things like smart tv's, gaming consoles, or desktop pc's. The webpage based interface to change settings is also easy to navigate and use.

I replaced a 3 year old, tri-band router with the RTA86U. My old router frustrated me because I couldn't login into the router directly. You had to login through the vendor's cloud first. Normally not a problem, but when you are having network problems, that doesn't work. Finally I'd had enough. After extensive research I ordered the RTAX86U. It is a highly rated router that allows direct router logins. I was a little concerned about bandwidth going from a tri-band router to a dual-band. There were no bandwidth issues (3 story townhouse). The RTAX performs on par with my older router - which was pretty fast. Right after I got it I started having network/provider issues. I could login in directly to the router and watch the cable modem throughput drop periodically. It was godsend during troubleshooting. The network techs seemed impressed too.

This router was recommended by the ASUS community and it is fast. I had an older ASUS that was slow in the WiFi department. This thing is lightning fast and I do like the app on the phone to control it. Very nice interface to monitor everything.

So far so good! We moved into a bigger home and got this to upgrade coverage and security, so far it's been great. We don't have any dead spots in our home and a Roku ultra that used to need to be wired to get clear picture is working great over wifi.

This wifi hasn't given me any issues for the past few weeks I have used it. Coverage is better than the rental xfinity provides. We have it in the first floor and now I get clear and fast signal on the third floor of a town home. I love this thing

Setup was easy, follow the instructions and use the app and all in all took about 20 minutes. Speeds are where they need to be now that ive rreplaced mine after 5 years. Highly recommend

Excellent router. Covers the whole house with around 40 devices connected to it and it does it well. The software is intuitive and it offers a myriad of options to tinker with. I would highly recommend this router to anyone gaming or not.
