ASUS blows, avoid unless it’s a simple setup

The software is mediocre. The ASUS app barely does anything useful. Like old fashion routers at least All configuration must be done over the wired network. But you also are required (or at least there is no obvious way around it) to setup an account to access the router. The firmware has some issues with some legacy devices but the truly most awful thing is support and ASUS policies. Between the requirement to create an account, the constant request for information if you call support (They don’t even use it, you have to provide everything every time you call), and the useless support service, ASUS, as a whole seems like a hard pass unless you have a simple setup and you never had to call them. So again, excellent hardware, the software/firmware is meh, and their support is just terrible.

Couldn’t get any signal from the router. Even after multiple attempts of factory resetting and eventually gave up. Brought it back to the store since ASUS customer service was no help. Had GSP on router. Going back to Netgear Nighthawk.

This item had pretty high rating at the techy sites, and I thought it would serve me well, for years to come. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to work with, it’s complicated and in my case I had to reset it at least twice a day. I returned it. If you’re a super tech savvy user, it may be good for you.

don't waste your money

Started out great but started to drop connections, could not get it to easily reset and overall overpriced for the performance. returned this to Best Buy and bought another NetGear router.
