Great Way to Familiarize Yourself with Android
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a fantastic Android Tablet for the money. It's powerful enough to be useful and the 7" screen provides excellent graphics and contrast. This Asus Tablet is small enough to carry around, big enough to use effectively in most circumstances and the battery life is surprisingly good. Light weight, easy to use and equipped with pretty good speakers, this is an ideal low-cost tablet for regular use and perfect for travel. If you're looking for a great camera, this isn't the tablet for you, but it's adequate. I'm listening to music as I write this review and am awed by the quality of the speaker system given the price. I also found it to be an excellent way to research and test apps before placing them on my far more expensive Android phone. Definitely a great Product for the Price!

great tablet!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a galaxy tab 2 before I got this one. I was in the Best Buy store for an hour trying to find a good tablet. I picked this one! I love it! It is so fast! The screen has such great quality! I look the variety of apps you can get! It is great for multitasking. I like that it has a reading setting in the drop down menu. It makes reading on my tablet much more comfortable. I love that it has 16 gb instead of 8 because I can add more apps and pdf files on it. It is very light and easy to carry. The only downside is trying to find a case and screen protector for it. I found those on amazon for a good price though. I just wish there was more of a variety of cases. I love this tablet so much! It is perfect!

Great!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For my purpose, I found this tablet a big improvement over my previous Nexus which was more than 2 years old and quite old. So far, the Asus definitely has higher display resolution, faster operations and a little lighter. So for the great discount on Best Buy, this is a great tablet for the money. I even like its unique design. Highly recommended!

A Very Good Bang For The Buck 7" Tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought this Asus Memo ME572C tablet less than a week ago. This is the fourth tablet I am on. The very first tablet I purchased was the 7” Acer Iconia A100 tablet and it eventually broke. The other 2 tablets were a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 inch (sold it because it was slow) and a 10” Lenovo Ideatab S6000 (still have) Here are the Pros and Cons of the Asus Memo tablet I have found after using it for a few days and how it compares to my other tablets. Pros *$150 sale price at Best Buy is a very good bang for the buck 7” tablet. *Very good specs for a 7" tablet that offers Quad core Atom Z3560 clocked at 1.83ghz cpu with 2GB DDR3 ram and 16GB of internal storage. *Bright IPS display with good contrast and viewing angles. Very little if any brightness loss when the tablet is tilted. My Acer Iconia A100 tablet had a TN (twisted nematic) display which suffered from poor viewing angles. *Display has 1920 x 1200 resolution. Most 7" tablets have either 1024 x 600 or 1280 x 800 resolution with only 1GB of Ram *Youtube app allows selecting 1080P video quality due to the Asus Memo 1920 x 1200 resolution. *Very good color accuracy on the display. Whites look white and no yellowish/blueish tint. *Each speaker is placed separately on each side to give a stereophonic sound. My old Acer Iconia A100 and Tab 2 tablet has both speakers located on one side. Lenovo 10” tablet has stereo speakers but, they’re located on the back. *Thin and light compared to my old Acer Iconia A100 which is .52" thick and 470grams in weight. The Asus Memo is only .3" thick and 269grams in weight. My Lenovo Ideatab is heavy weighing in at 560grams. *Very good battery life. Compared to my old 7" Tab 2, it has just as good (if not better) battery life and definitely a lot better battery life than the older Acer Aspire A100 that only lasted for 4-5 hours. *Micro sd slot with support for Micro SDXC cards. I popped in my Sandisk 64GB Micro SDXC card and it recognized it. Cons *An issue with the Wifi connection that happened once (so far). It disconnected and turning on/off Wifi on the tablet didn't fix the problem. A reboot of the tablet resolved the issue *Slight backlight bleeding on one edge near the front facing camera. Nothing bad but, you'll notice it on a completely black screen. Some models might be a little more noticeable than others. *Hole in the headphone jack was not made so well. The headphone jack doesn't insert that easily and smoothly. You'll need to be careful and not force it. *Speakers are located on the sides than in the front. Your hands will have a tendency to block the speaker if you hold the edges in landscape. *The length of the tablet (7.9 inches) is longer than your average 7" tablet. It will be a tighter fit in some 7" tablet pouches. Its rectangular corners makes it harder to zip in a 7” pouch. *No led flash and no HDMI port. My old Acer tablet has an led flash and HDMI port. *No cover on the Micro SD slot to keep the dust/dirt out. After using this Asus Memo ME572C tablet for several days, I am overall happy with it. What I like most about it is the 1920 x 1200 IPS display. It makes watching full HD videos and browsing websites more enjoyable. Despite the cons I listed down, it’s nothing major where it detracts from it being a very good tablet. It’s not perfect in every area but, there isn’t much 7” tablets that has comparable specs/features to this Asus Memo 7” tablet

Good for the price, watch out for screen defects!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the tablet, great form factor, feather light, quality build, speedy processor, good battery life, great display, IF you get one without defects. Took me 3 exchanges to finally get one that didn't have dead/stuck pixels and EVERY one I have had has light bleed along the edges of the screen. I'm learning to live with the light bleed because I feel it's a common issue and probably not easy to get a perfect one. ASUS needs to get better quality control, I know this is a budget tablet but it doesn't mean you should skimp on quality. With that said, it's a great tablet. It's basically what the Nexus 7 would've been if they kept making it. Before this I've owned Tab Pro 8.4, Nexus 7 2013, Tab S 8.4, Lenovo S8-50 and Tab 4 10.1, the Asus Me572 is a worthy contender. And I love the new software update I got today with the dual apps. I definitely recommend the ME572. Let's hope for lollipop!

Five star tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased from BestBuy 2 weeks ago and I'm very happy with it. Very light and powerful tablet. Very fast (1.83mhz vs 1.5 Nexus 7 processor ) and 2mb RAM let me run multiple programs without crashing. Also it has nice HD screen and very long battery life. Would buy it again if needed.

First impression of K007
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review."K007" is the actual model no. of this Taiwanese made product, although Asus sells it as the "ME572C". I just picked one up for Xmas at Best Buy. It could have just as easily been offered by Sharper Image stores because it's a real stunner; certainly more elegant looking than all other so-called "budget" tablets. The specs on this beauty are stellar as well starting with its full 64 bit, quad-core CPU, Intel's Atom Z3560 that clocks at a whooping 1.83GHz running in 2GB of internal LPDDR3 RAM. That's a full gigabyte more than most other tablets in this price range. No doubt, this is why it has a true Hi-Def display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200. That is 2.3 million pixels on a 7" diagonal LCD. This results in absolutely pristine color graphics, the sharpest possible text and videos as good as any 1080p HDTV. Except with only a 7" diagonal display, you would have to look through a powerful magnifying glass to see them. Of course, like most others, it comes with 16GB of additional memory for storage of which about 10GB is free to download music, videos and numerous apps from the Google stores. It also has a plug-in port for a microSD card to increase the storage capacity significantly. Best Buy sells a 32GB microSD for only $30 should the extra storage space ever be needed. The most often heard criticism of this tablet is its rather wide opposing blackouts around the screen, especially the at the top and bottom when viewed vertically. However, the entire front surface area is covered in one continuous piece of glass from outer edge to edge, so these areas are not really noticeable and certainly blend in to the LCD such that when this tablet is turned off, it looks a lot bigger than a 7" tablet. Which brings me to say, the K007 is as light as a feather; just 9.6 ounces. The back plate, although plastic, is stylishly textured, but if there is any shortcoming to this tablet, Asus does not include a protective case. That will be the very first post-Xmas accessory on my shopping list, and it would probably be a good idea to pick up an extended protection plan from Best Buy, but that does not cover "breakage" from dropping any mobile device. The Li-ion battery is nearly 4000 mAh, which is more than enough for lengthy periods of purely mobile operation. I haven't had a chance yet to explore the software. The Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat operating system is fairly current. It comes with several dozen apps; more than I'll ever use, but many will come in handy as well as dozens more I will eventually download from the Google store. All in all I am very favorably impressed with the over quality and expected performance of this tablet. For only $179, it promised to be an extremely good value!

Worth every penny and then some
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very pleased with this tablet. I shopped and shopped, but nowhere can you find better specs, especially screen or processo. Intel's quad-core atom processor along with 2gb ram give this tablet the power to handle just about anything you throw at it. It also has a quick boost feature which allows you to swiftly restore your cpu back to full form by closing apps and processes that are still running in the background that you don't need. The weight and dimensioms make this tablet ideal for people on the go or on vacation. The camera could be better and ASUS does have a lot of extra apps (some very useful and some completely worthless), but these are minor things especially considering the price. I could see spending well over $250 for something this high quality, but because I got it for only $160 I give it 5 stars.

The "Perfect Budget" Tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a $180 tablet that Asus competitively put out on shelves, competitors like Samsung are crazy to sell their budget line up of Tab 4 series to compete with this device. This Asus Memo Pad 7 is elegant, sturdily built, and performs like a premium tablet while having a top notch screen. The new screen coating they have truly does shine as well, and makes the tablets highly visible even in sunlight; not to mention it already having a gorgeous full 1080p display. It is extremely light, and perhaps the lightest tablet out on the market right now, and does not flex or creak. Simply put it this way, if you were expecting a Nexus 7 for 2014, look no further. I believe this tablet would have been Asus's vision for this years Nexus 7, and for whatever reason they were able to knock out every budget tablet with a $180 price tag and being able to maintain quality and performance that easily holds up to premium tablets out on the market. The new Moorefield Atom processor is no slouch despite benchmark scores. These processors were made to run full Windows operating environments, and in an ARM environment like Android it simply beats out many out there. Now the cons, simply this. Asus packs the Memo Pad 7 with bloatware that users cannot delete. This is expected, but is more of a nitpicking issue that most will take notice immediately. The other con would be the 64bit chipset this tablet is using. It performs flawlessly, but for graphically intensive games it is not optimized yet. When running graphical benchmarks, the tablet scored and passed with flying colors. When playing graphically intensive games like Dead Trigger and even lower end games like Shadow Fight 2, you'll experience slowdowns. I think it's due to the fact that the support for 64bit is still limited, and future updates especially through Android 5.0 L will resolve these issues in due time. I claim this tablet as the Perfect Tablet, even if you do have the budget to buy 10 Ipads. This tablet brings a fresh feel to Android that is elegant yet familiar, and it especially plays it safe for those on a budget. With the holiday season just around the corner, you owe it to yourself to buy what will be considered as one of the greatest tablets ever built in my opinion.

essentially a "3rd gen Nexus 7" sans AOSP, plus SD
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.it's very tough to give out 5-star reviews on tablets/phones. they're all very nice, but usually lack one or two very critical features which would otherwise make them worthy. if the ME572 had come with the faster Z3580 Atom, AOSP, and shorter top/bottom bezels, it would simply be perfect. as it is, the Z3560 performs flawlessly, and the excessive top/bottom bezels do not affect comfort/usability in any way. though, I have no intentions of carrying it around outside the house. I have a sizable phone for that. regardless, I can't, in good conscience, take off a full star for coming up a bit short of perfection. I could easily take off for the non-AOSP-like rom, but this is only really an issue for a limited set of people. and even then, it's just not the end of the world. pros: • thin/light • I can palm this quite comfortably (to be fair, I have pretty large hands# • not excessively warm/hot #my Lenovo S8-50 and new Z3 phone get much hotter# • microSD • excellent USB/file-transfer performance #30mbps vs unusable in S8-50# • better scaling #the S8-50 is closer to 1:1, and everything is fairly small, and some apps get confused and render poorly# • zero issues playing app-embedded youtube #Shield can't do it# • price cons: • excessive top/bottom bezels #unless you want to carry it in a pocket, this is mostly cosmetic, and at that, not really an issue# • Zen launcher/rom/bloat #you can disable most non-Zen apps, but there's a lot of Zen apps, recommend you install Nova launcher# • corners come to somewhat of a point #not sharp enough for any kind of concern, I'd just prefer rounded corners on this device #I'm being really nit-picky here# • only 16gb internal storage #closer to 10gb you can actually use# - it's very difficult to find a tablet in this price range with more, though #IIRC, they do intend to make a 32gb/LTE version of this device# the ME572 is only about 1/4in both shorter/narrower than the Lenovo S8-50. surprisingly, that 1/4in made all the difference in the world for me palming it. YMMV. I've only had the ME572 over the weekend, and there's no question, I'll be handing down the S8-50 at my earliest convenience. the S8-50 is by no means a bad tablet. I just prefer the ME572 that much more. of course, I wouldn't have any issue if someone could make an 8in tablet just as narrow as the ME572, with similar scaling. for all I know, the reason my Z3 and the S8-50 get so warm #only playing games, though# is because they may be using heat-sinks which bleed heat closer to the shell. I honestly can't say whether the Z3560 runs cooler or not. but, if observed warmth is something on your radar, you'll definitely prefer the ME572. I simply wanted to add, I don't understand the lack of good 7in tablets this fall. a year ago, google began selling the 2nd gen Nexus 7, and AFAIK, it was extremely popular. I understand them selling the Nexus 9, to compete head-to-head with the ipad. that would be a very profitable market for them. but how they decided not to update one of the most popular tablets ever made, I can't imagine. at least Asus has seen fit to not only ship a 1920x1200/2gb tablet with an updated CPU, they even added a microSD, and priced it very competitively. overall, the tablet has a very nice feel to it. it doesn't feel cheaply made. at this price, I wouldn't expect it to survive much of a drop #short of a $1,000+ "ruggedized" tablet, I wouldn't expect that of any device). but kudos to Asus for doing an exceptional job of at least making it feel like it's not junk.

Perfect Tablet!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this tablet about two months ago and I am incredibly pleased with it! Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I intended on getting a nexus 7 but found out it has been discontinued. I didn't really want a Samsung product so I saw this tablet. Crisp clear video. Fast! Thin lightweight. Love it! Basically a 3rd generation nexus 7! Best buy did not stock a screen saver so I did have get a universal one from another store and cut to it to size. Love it! Highly recommend!
