This idea was to use as a common room tablet and double as the home theater remote control. After troubleshooting for hours, I got word back from Asus technical support via email that it just doesn't do that. So even though they have a Android 4.4 update bringing this tablet to current OS standards, ASUS has intentionally disabled parts of the OS and not documented it so the owner can know. In my case, users. You can only add one user or one user profile, Ever. So if you want to have multiple users, you get exactly two including the owner. Who knows how many other features of Android 4.4 they have intentionally turned off? These are going back as defective..

Tried to charge it and battery had a question mark and would not turn back on. So I exchanged it and charged it for 8 hours as required again. My son used it once and it died again! I go to charge it and it says the battery is at 94%. I unplug it and have to press power button several times before it will turn on. That is not acceptable. I will be taking it back for a refund. Very disappointed as this was a christmas gift for him. Will have to just wait and purchase a better tablet. You get what you pay for. Lesson learned.

I understand that you have problem charging your memo pad and I want to help with it. If you can please try to do a battery calibration manually by draining the battery completely without the AC adapter connected then charge it fully without the system being used or power on. All three tablets failed within a week or two of purchase. This was my son's tablet. Yet, my daughter has the same tablet and it has worked fine since August 2014. I found with the three tablets, the battery would drain and when connected to the charger the screen would render a question mark. Best Buy was perplexed as to why three tablets would fail in succession. One sales person told me ASUS is a great brand. Not so sure right now.

This tablet appears to have the same defects that the Asus google nexus had. Ive had this tablet for a month. It suffered freezing and crashing at least every other day. A few days ago i was holding it watching a movie and out of the blue the screen cracked and went black. The tablet was resting in my hand and it cracked. Please do not buy Asus this is insane
