I wasn't totally sold on this, but my fiancée insisted we get a nice router to replace our $30 clunker that was giving me fits. I've been very satisfied with this since we bought it (~2 months ago). There was a minor problem connecting when I had it broadcasting on 2.4 and 5 Ghz with the same SSID, but that was remedied by changing the SSID for the 5 Ghz one. It may not be the best router for you, but it's been the best for me. Treat yourself!

Picked this up after my old router died after 5 years (I know that's long). I have no complaints on this router. Range is create and we have little to no connectivity issues. Pretty good router.

Replaced an aging router to meet new heavy demands from wi fi gadgets. Easily covers entire house ,no fade outs. Enclosed CD will basically install it, even for this non techie senior citizen. Power with a punch, so far I am pleased with my purchase.

It was very easy to set up, just plugged it in and everything connected, can't get much easier than that. I have a small house but it reaches all three floors good, goes about 100 feet outdoors.

I say seems to be doing great because of the number of internet issues I have had because of my internet provider. They want to blame the wireless router every time. The issue is supposedly fixed and the router is doing it's job. I haven't had any issues with the router. It was easy to hook up and set up.

    Nice dual-band router/access-point

Purchased two of these for access-point duty in my home. Wi-Fi access-points are not all that popular, so it is nice that this can be easily configurable for that functionality. Asus seems to keep relatively frequent firmware updates available for it, and mine are running the current 3.0.0.4.374.979 release. The 5GHz radios makes for nice clean connection if you have a crowded 2.4GHz environment - be it from microwave-ovens, neighbors, cordless-phones, etc. - and you have the devices to use it. Mine host two tablets, four phones, two gaming devices, and a laptop - and there is bandwidth to spare across the two 40MHz bonded-channels that each is configured to use. The only issues I've seen so far are that the automatic channel selection doesn't do a very good job. Left to automatic-mode, both of my access-points chose the same channel to operate, even though they are less than 100' apart.. Not a big deal since I did a survey and configured them manually anyway. Also, the WPS button does nothing in the access-point mode. Not sure if it is supposed to work as an access-point feature or not since the manual makes no reference to it in that mode. It does work if you have it configured as a router. I did experiment with the additional functionality that utilizes the USB ports on the device. Yup, they will download a torrent, allow an FTP connection, expose a Samba share, and provide NAS capability. I even played around with the Android app that allows you to monitor torrent activity on the device, and it's a bit quirky - but it works. I don't use any of those features currently, but thought I'd see if they worked. There is also guest-network capability for each band, and it works just fine - isolating those connections from your internal network. The device supports gigabit Ethernet for LAN and WAN connections. Since I don't have any of the new AC Wi-Fi clients, nor do I have any devices that can use the Asus TurboQAM capabilities of the step-up RT-AC68 model, I saved about $80 per unit by getting these, and can routinely get 200-350 Mbps real-world connections on my laptop and 50-65 Mbps connections on my phones and tablets using the 5GHz channels. Here in the 'burbs, the 2.4GHz band is saturated -- with 15+ SSIDs showing up in my home. No 5GHz signals were detected during my site-survey, so throughput is solid and consistent on this band. They run a little warm, but not hot, and you can selectively turn off the status-lights with a switch if you wish. Overall very pleased with the performance.
