Great Router for Home/SB Wi-Fi
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We replaced our old 802.11g router with the Asus RT-N66R. What an amazing improvement! Now the wi-fi connection to the internet is as fast as the hard-wired ones. No more "buffering..." messages. Watching a smart TV is effortless. Can't say enough good about this box.

May put other brands to shame
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced an old Netgear not that long ago with a Cisco Linksys e1000. Not a high end router but I'm only paying for a 12MB connection so I thought it would get the job done. Wrong..... I had interference from baby monitors, inconsistent signal strength and poor range from day one. Eventually, the signal strength got so bad it was similar to dial up speeds and would drop signals often. Not only am I an Asus fan but this dual band N router had great reviews on multiple web sites so I decided to see if you "get what you pay for". The Asus is pretty amazing piece of hardware, GREAT signal strength available on dual bands ( strength is speed on wireless )! Easy to set up and it has 3 adjustable antennas so even though it's in the corner of a 2k sq ft house it broadcasts all the way across no problem. The other feature is Asus AI Radar, which determines the most frequently accessed areas and intensifies signal strength to those locations. Great wireless router, expensive but I got what I paid for.

Excellent wireless router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As Comcast has been rolling out their higher speed networks they have been sending users newer DOCSIS 3.0 compliant modems. I received a SMC D3GNV combination modem and wireless router. The modem is fine, providing high speed internet to computers wired directly to the modem. The wireless, on the other hand, is pathetic. Wireless speeds for computers more than 20 feet away remind me of the old “dial-up” days—if you can connect at all. To solve the problem I went looking for an 802.11 N compliant wireless router to hook to the SMC modem. After reading numerous user reviews on various websites I settled on the ASUS RT-N66R. Note that this is identical to the ASUS RT-N66U. Only Best Buy sells the “R” version—that way they don’t have to worry about price matching. Installation of the ASUS router was very straight forward and I am now getting wireless download speeds of 30-33 Mbps and upload speeds of 5-6 Mbps. Ping tests are now A or A+. For anyone concerned about setting up a wireless network with this router just search YouTube for ASUS RT-N66U (remember, this is the same as Best Buy’s RT-N66R). There are several videos from ASUS covering everything from basic setup to what all the special features are. One last point for Comcast customers using the SMC D3GNV modem. It is recommended that you contact Comcast and have them put the modem in “bridge” mode. That shuts off the modem’s wireless signal. I have not done that and have seen no conflicts between the ASUS router and the SMC modem. If I do I will have the Comcast modem bridged.

recommend for multiple devices
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had an old router, probably about 2-3 years old. We connect about 5 devices at any given time. Our place is pretty cozy but it would still cause some lag when I would play online on multiplayer mode. This was extremely frustrating and we asked around and this seemed to be a good fit for us. Of course there was a more powerful router but along came the price as well. I definitely didn't mind the price on this router and have had no issues since we purchased it. It's a good router for a decent amount of money. I would recommend investing in this product if you connect a couple of devices and or play online.

GREAT ROUTER! BEATS ALL THE OTHERS!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Router replaced Apple Airport Extreme and it by far outperforms that router. Range is EXCELLENT on this router, and the ease of setup and use will exceed expectations too.

Good router but range could be better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router was a replacement for another Asus router that was damaged in a lightening strike. This is a good router and is easy to install and configure. My only complaint is that the distance the router broadcasts seems smaller than my previous router.

I am getting a slow connection speed.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first added this modem in my cart, it was not available in my local store, I was going to have it shipped. The next day, it was available in store. When I brought it home, the electric cord was not tied, tie was laying in box. The books inside were open. Best Buy sold me a return item. I am not happy about that.
