I have two desktops wired into ASUS RT-N66R. We also regularly use two tablets and two laptops. The RT-N66R is in the basement office and we have good connectivity on the second floor of the house with the provided antennas. With two or three devices running at once the router operates well. (Note: we are on Hughes Net Gn4 satellite internet service). As I understand the RT-N66R is the "retail" version of the "U" version available from ASUS. I relied on Michael Brown's (PC World) article mostly for my final purchase decision.

Very easy to set up and use. Quick to configure and many bells and whistles. I will say that at the default settings it struggles to get across and to the upstairs from my office in my house - which is about 2200 sqft. Doesn't help that there are several wireless signals around our home that maybe causing interference as well. After bumping up the signal strength it was better, but I still choose to use my old router as an access point on that end of the house, now my wife is happy (and I'm happy, because she is happy).

My wife and I experienced poor WIFI coverage with our Apple router. When she was on WIFI I could not access it with my laptop. Or she could not get WIFI with her smart phone. Another problem was that we could not get WIFI in parts or our brick house. The replacement of the new ASUS router has worked better than expected. All our technical equipment works well on WIFI and further away - even outside on our patio. We love it.

It may be expensive but the hardware is worth it. Solid build and the out of box firmware has lots of features and great logging. There are also several great 3rd party firmware builds that will let it do even more.

Works like it should. Has a cpu in it to help process, making it quicker. I like the QOS (quality of service), where I can limit the bandwidth to certain areas. That way I wouldn't lag while playing online games.

Needed router for new cable set up wanted speed and as long range aspossable . Spent a little more than I planned but it works well.

This is the router I would recommend to anyone. It's great for users of all tech levels. For someone wanting a basic router, it has many more features than you'll ever need. If you can read a quickstart guide, you can have this router up with a basic config in less than 10 minutes (unless a firmware upgrade is needed). The configuration web gui is great as well. Easy to navigate and quite responsive.

Was very easy to set up and the range is great. I also watch the video on you tube with JJ from Asus, to help with the set up.

I am enjoying my new router. It was easy to upgrad and easy to set up out of sight out of mind. My xbox runs faster now as well as all other devices in my apartment which are connected to my network. Only issue is that I don't have a strong signal in my living room. I was informed by the sales associate that it may be an issue for one living in an apartment with multiple walls and obstructions so I wasn't surprised. The signal on my last router didn't even reach the living room so this is still great.

I love this purchase!! It has great range and I can't explain how much faster out internet is! I highly recommend this product!

Used this to replace a functioning 6 year old router. Imediat improvment in connection stability and network speed. Set-up instructions were spase and did not address WEP devices - that was trial an error.

This is the second router of this brand and model that I've setup. It's a fast router. Easy to setup and use. Gigabit, 5g.

It has doubled my speed extended my range and is great for multiple floors. I would never go back to the Cable Co. wifi router.

After a number of failures of other brand wireless routers, I stepped up to this Asus model. Setup was a snap and I no longer need to use a range extender. My home is over 2,000 sq ft and all on one floor. I have great coverage in all rooms, as well as our patio and front lawn. We run multiple gaming consoles and have been very pleased with this routers capacity to handle to heavy loads.

I bought this router to replace an old one,but was directed to this model by my daughter . She has had this same model for over a year,it works beautifully. The real attraction was the fact that the set up and install was easy enough for me to do ,even though I am not real tech savvy! When I can do an install without calling my children or grandchildren for help ,I have found a great product!!

I originally purchase a different router by a so called more popular brand that cost twice the amount of money. I had to return the item twice. I settled on this at half the $$ and it's working fine!

I was having a large amount of trouble with wireless in the environment I had to deal with. I could not get a decent signal, or the routers I used would lock up, or so many various issues, with various routers. I got this as yet another attempt to solve the problem... and solve it, it did! The internet connection is solid for all devices, it hasn't locked up, and there has been zero complaints about the wireless situation. Even the speed has been exemplary. Cannot recommend it enough, it's that good.

Easy set up and good range. Solved my issue with not reaching into the basement. Signal is strong anywhere in the house.

Bought this because I needed a stand alone network system to work within a small space of room for various devices. It was easy to set-up. Have had it for a month now and has been highly operational.
