Customers express satisfaction with the ProArt P16 laptop's exceptional screen quality, overall performance, and the speed of its Ryzen AI 9 HX processor. The laptop also receives positive feedback for its good battery life, ample RAM, sleek design, and portability. While the refresh rate is seen as slightly low and the fan can be noisy under heavy use, the heat dissipation is also a minor concern.

Great machine that needs work on heat dissipation

The ASUS ProArt P16 is an impressive laptop for creatives and professionals, offering a sleek design, a vibrant display, and solid performance thanks to the RTX 4060 and 1TB SSD. The machine handles demanding tasks like video editing, 3D rendering, and graphic design with ease, making it a great choice for productivity. The keyboard is comfortable for long typing sessions, and the build quality feels premium. However, the biggest downside is its thermal performance—under heavy workloads, the laptop gets uncomfortably hot, with the underside and keyboard area becoming noticeably warm. While the fans do kick in to manage temperatures, they can get quite loud, which might be distracting in quiet environments. Despite this, the performance-to-price ratio is still strong, making it a solid option if you can tolerate the heat.
Heat dissipation is definitely the ProArt P16’s weakest point. Even during moderate workloads, the laptop tends to heat up quickly, and prolonged use may lead to thermal throttling, slightly reducing performance over time. The cooling system, while decent, struggles to keep up with the RTX 4060’s power under sustained loads, which is disappointing for a workstation-grade device. On the plus side, the display is fantastic—color-accurate and bright—perfect for creative work. Battery life is also reasonable for a machine of this caliber, though heavy tasks will drain it quickly. If ASUS had implemented a more robust cooling solution, this laptop would easily be a 5-star contender.
Despite its thermal limitations, the ProArt P16 remains a compelling choice for professionals who need a portable yet powerful workstation. The combination of the RTX 4060, fast storage, and a high-quality display makes it ideal for creative workflows. However, if you plan on pushing this laptop hard for extended periods, consider using a cooling pad or optimizing power settings to manage heat. The heat issue isn’t a dealbreaker, but it’s significant enough to dock a star from an otherwise excellent machine. For lighter workloads or shorter bursts of intensive tasks, it performs admirably. Overall, it’s a great laptop—just be prepared for some warmth under pressure.

A must-have laptop for content creators

Finally, a PC laptop made specifically for content creators and artists. For the longest time, it seemed like laptops were only made for either gamers, or casual/business users. Of course you were always able to custom build one, but that can get pricey compared to out of the box offerings. Being a content creator myself and working with a lot of graphics and videos, anytime I needed a new PC laptop, I'd end up looking at gaming rigs. I always said if you need a good computer, get what the gamers use as they always have the best. Only problem is that if you weren't also a hardcore gamer, you usually end up with more than you need while paying more than you want.
Now comes in this ASUS ProArt P16 to fill in that gap. It comes with plenty of power, all the features a content creator needs, a beautiful design, and all at a fair price.
Upon starting it up for the first time, you instantly notice how clear the display is. This is my first experience with an OLED screen and I am still in awe of how absolutely amazing the picture quality is. I actually also have a newer MacBook Pro with a Retina display, which is no slouch by any means, and let me just say that this ASUS OLED display is noticeably superior. Everything on this ProArt just pops, the color, the lights, the darks, the clarity. I even booted up an old 16 year old PC game and it even made that look almost like a completely different game.
As a creator though, it's not just about how good the picture quality is, it's also about having the capability to create and handle video at such a high standard. The majority of my videos are filmed in 4K, and that can be pretty taxing on a system, especially as you're trying to edit that video. Older laptops of mine would struggle to keep up, oftentimes delaying the process. This ProArt not only keeps up, it makes working with high resolution videos a breeze and enjoyable. The only delay I run into is when I get caught just gazing at my video instead of editing it because of how great it looks on this screen.
Needless to say, between the AMD Ryzen processor, the NVIDIA GPU, and 32GB RAM, you won't be left wanting for performance. That also means that it can handle the more mundane, everyday tasks so easily, that this computer won't even break a sweat. In fact, you won't even be able to tell if the computer is on because it's so quiet. It's nice having a laptop where the fan isn't going like a jet engine all the time, which also helps with battery life. So far, the battery has performed beautifully and is better than I would have expected.
Creating videos is more than just amazing visuals, it's also about audio. As much as I like using external speakers or headphones, when editing videos, I find it easier to use the laptop's speaker system, not just for convenience, but it removes any possible lag or out of sync audio. Expectations usually aren't too high for laptop speakers, and while you shouldn't expect home theater like sound, I will say that as far as laptops go, this ProArt P16 by far sounds the best of any laptop I've ever owned. I tested several different high quality audio tracks and the clarity is superb.
It's not just the hardware that makes this a machine for creators, but also the software that comes with it. Out of the box you get several creativity apps and my favorite part is the ProArt Creator Hub. The Hub is what it sounds like and it's put together beautifully. From here you can view stats on your PC, optimize performance, adjust settings, calibrate the colors, manage colors (another favorite piece of mine), or go to any of your creative apps like MuseTree and StoryCube. Not to mention the AI aspect. StoryCube has been a new favorite of mine too, especially with helping me manage my thousands of pictures I've been capturing and storing over the past couple decades.
When it comes to AI, I'll have to admit it takes a little getting used to. It's kind of like learning how to use a search engine for the first time. Whether it's Microsoft's CoPilot or the ASUS AI, you kind of need to learn the right way of asking things to get what you're looking for. With the ASUS AI though, you also get a Local AI, meaning you don't even need to be connected to the internet. I don't know about everyone else, but it's pretty common to lose internet service once in a while. It's nice to be able to stay productive while most other services and products nowadays rely so heavily on being connected. Getting back to the AI though, it's been really helpful to me. When it comes to getting creative, I tend to overthink things, that is when I can even get started with an idea to begin with. I think that's where the creative AI has been most helpful to me.
Finally, I want to talk a little bit about the exterior design. Having a great case design probably isn't a top priority as it's the performance of the machine that matters most. Even so, I've had good performing computers before that I just wasn't happy with because it wasn't appealing to look at or hold. Maybe I'm being a bit superficial, but having a beautiful design just makes me want to get on the computer more. This ProArt truly is a work of art. It's not just the looks or how sleek the finish is, but also the materials and feel of it. Being an automotive enthusiast, it just screams exotic car to me.
To wrap things up, all I have to say is, if you're a creator or any kind in need of a new PC laptop, this is the one you should get without any hesitation. I absolutely love this ProArt P16 and highly recommend it.

This is an all around high quality device. The build and performance are excellent. The display, keyboard, trackpad and speakers are all excellent as well.
The design is very clean and minimal. It's just over 4lbs and thin for a laptop with a graphics card inside. It really close or similar to a MacBook in terms of hardware.
You have the ability to go into "eco" mode which turns off the graphics card. In this mode the battery life is great!
I always install a fresh copy of Windows and install all updates before doing anything. I haven't had any stability issues.
The downsides are that the screen is 60hz and the black finish attracts fingerprints.
Overall the p16 is one of, if not, the best Windows laptops I've used.

I really like this ProArt laptop. It is really powerful with the 32GB of RAM and the Ryzen 9 HX 370. The performance is extremely solid and the 4060 GPU definitely enhances it. I am not a gamer so I really don't care about a GPU with extremely solid performance and my primary use is for ML and AI and this is planty powerful.
The laptop is a good combination of power and efficiency and have never felt it got hot.
Really like all the ports, keyboard required some getting use to but end up really liking it and would wanted the trackpad to be a bit smaller but no big deal as I have mostly disabled it. Speakers are solid for what you can expect from a laptop.
The biggest downside is the screen. For a 4k display it is dimmer than compared to others in the markets. I can make do with the lower refresh rate but how can you have the dimmer display in 2024 on a machine with so much futuristic specs. That is why this is a 4/5 laptop.

The only two downsides I could find to this laptop are (1) the 60Hz non-VRR screen and (2) the mechanical trackpad. The screen should be at least 100Hz in this price range as well as having a haptic trackpad. That would make this a five-star creator's laptop. The screen quality is still really good with a high ppi, gpu/cpu combo is fast, cooling is great, battery life is above average using this new HX cpu and the overall build quality is great. The all black coating does leave lots of fingerprints though.

This product does so much right.
It has very fast soldered memory (7500 mhz) feeding the 12 cores. The cores are 4 full Zen 5 cores, and 8 Zen 5c cores (more power efficient, still hyperthreaded).
The screen is truly beautiful! Oled and >4k resolution (3840x2400).
Installing Linux was straightforward (just disable secureboot in the uefi).
Lastly, the keyboard is the best I've ever used on a laptop! I work in tech and this makes a big difference.
I wish it had slightly better repairability, but you can at least upgrade the nvme on your own.

I bought the ASUS ProArt P16 for my son, and we are absolutely thrilled with it! Although it's not specifically designed as a gaming laptop, it performs better than his previous gaming rig. The combination of the AMD Ryzen 9 HX 370 and RTX 4060 delivers incredible speed and graphics. My son plays demanding games like Wukong, and the performance is stunning—smooth gameplay, no lag, and breathtaking visuals thanks to the 4K touch screen. Everything runs flawlessly, from gaming to multitasking, and the 32GB memory ensures nothing slows him down. The 1TB SSD is also a huge plus, providing ample storage space. The build quality is excellent, and the sleek Nano Black design gives it a premium feel. Highly recommend for anyone who needs a powerhouse laptop that goes beyond just gaming!

I WANTED to love this computer, but I ended up buying the G16 instead.
PROS:
Screen is AMAZING (even if it's only 60hz) the response time is really good, so the lower refresh rate didn't bother me too much. The speakers are also really good. Although I saw some reviewers online claiming they're still not as good as the G16? but I can't confirm this. Performance while plugged in is great. Battery life in ECO mode (with the DGPU turned off) is also amazing. 8+ hours of light tasks. Keyboard is great, no issue there.
CONS:
The finish catches fingerprints really easily and it ends up look SUPER greasy.
Battery life while using the DGPU is still pretty bad (although I feel like that's more NVIDIA'S fault) If you want excellent battery life and don't care about gaming, just get a macbook pro.
For some reason I couldn't get the laptop to full performance on battery. I don't know if this is a power delivery issue or just a BIOS/SOFTWARE limitation, but unless I was using the origianl 200 watt charger I could only get about 30%-40% GPU performance, even in TURBO mode.
I personally had major issues with NVIDIA'S NVENC encoder on this laptop. (not sure why) videos I was editing constantly glitched out with colors and blocking artifacts. Also, the 4060 is a little lackluster for video editing. I'd probably go with the 4070 as a minimum for 4k editing.
OVERALL:
This machine can be good.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing Creative Powerhouse for Professionals!
I’ve been using the ASUS ProArt P16 for a few weeks now, and it’s honestly one of the best investments I’ve made for my creative work. As a video editor and graphic designer, I needed a laptop that could handle 4K footage, complex design files, and heavy multitasking without a hitch — and this machine delivers exactly that.
The 4K touchscreen is stunning — colors are vivid and accurate, which is a must for color grading and photo editing. The display is also plenty bright, and the touch functionality makes navigating timelines and design interfaces surprisingly smooth.
Performance-wise, the Ryzen AI 9 and RTX 4060 combo absolutely flies through rendering and playback. I can scrub through high-resolution footage in Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve with zero lag. Plus, the 32GB RAM ensures I can keep multiple big projects open at once without any slowdown.
The build quality is solid and professional — not flashy, but very premium. The port selection is generous for creative work: HDMI, USB-C, SD card slot — all the essentials. The keyboard and trackpad feel great too, and the speakers are surprisingly clear and loud for laptop speakers.
Overall, the ProArt P16 is a dream machine for creative professionals who need reliability and power on the go. Highly recommended if you want desktop-level performance in a portable form factor!

It's been my primary laptop for 10 days. I like it. It has a great touchscreen with pen input (MS protocol). It's quiet and has excellent battery life. The build is MacBook Pro-like, and the speakers are good but not great like those on a MacBook. I use it with an Apple Studio Display via USB-C, which works well. However, I get video call sound disruption occasionally, which is likely due to a compatible driver issue. I use it for productivity work and online meetings. So far so good.

This has been a very solid laptop so far. Coming from a Lenovo Legion, there are a few things I miss (like the number pad on the keyboard) but the clarity of the screen, color accuracy, the weight of the laptop, the speed of photo processing in adobe, and the quickness of everyday workflows online make this a great laptop for everyday use! I believe it will be the work horse I was looking for in the Lenovo previously. It took me a little while to get used to the glossy screen which can be a pain in very bright rooms, but its easy to see past and when the vibrant colors POP in your photos with such clarity! Overall I am very happy with this purchase.

Beats MacBook M2 w/ Wacom for 2D Animation student

I'll check back to update this review in the fall of 2025. I bought this for my college student who is a 2D Animation student at SCAD. She had an Apple M2 and Wacom Cintiq 16 that were fine until all of a sudden, they stopped talking to each other. After replacing all the cables and connectors, we realized it was the Wacom Cintiq 16's connection which is strange. She could NOT get it to work, no matter how she tried ... with the Apple Macbook M2. We bought her this ASUS Pro Art P16 and wow. Everything is blazing way faster and more reliably than it was with the Apple. She figured out how to position the setup to keep the Wacom connected and recognized (still, suspect that the Wacom, not even a year old, is the culprit; also purchased at Best Buy - not the best support for the thing unless you buy their membership for $200 a year ... the Wacom is less than a year old). Still, she is SO HAPPY with this machine. It performs WAY faster, the colors better, than her Apple with the Cintiq. When she returns home from this school year, we will ask Wacom to honor the warranty on their device ... and then see how well the ASUS manages to keep up the good work.
The ONLY concern she has is how hot the thing runs after animating for very very very long periods of time. Next year is Capstone project year, so she will be truly putting the thing through all the paces. I WILL report back on how well it's working. I love that this is upgradeable with additional memory.

Very sleek, sexy, and especially efficient. Even in situations with only 5mps of wifi, is was working through premiere pro projects with large video files like a dream. Note that buying this laptop from this authorized reseller means you aren't eligible for an upgraded warranty from ASUS. You have to seek it out from the reseller. Happy creating!
