Open box ASUS ROG

There’s a 60% success rate with the USB-c having something connecting and it registering something like a charger(that came with it) and/or a docking station for monitors. Screen flickers when monitors are connected. I should have known about this one and it’s probably standard for gaming laptops but it gets pretty warm and battery life span is awful

If you are experiencing issues with the USB port, please verify if the USB cable, docking station and device are working properly. Update Windows and the chipset driver if outdated. Keeping Windows updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance. For the flickering issue, verify if the correct video cable is being used and is working properly. Update the video driver if not the current version.
It is normal for the laptop, with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer, to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially during gaming, WINDOWS Update and antivirus scan. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down. The battery will drain faster than normal while gaming or running system resource intensive application.

Overheats easily & restarts constantly. Unusable.

I bought it as a gift and because I gave it to them one month after purchase, I'm unable to return it. It overheats within 30 minutes of use, even when elevated to give the fans room to breathe. Because it overheats, the laptop immediately shuts off to protect itself, it restarts, and after I log back in to Windows, it immediately shuts off again because it's still overheating. They're not even playing games on it, just basic web browsing or watching a movie and according to the ASUS Armory Crate software, it will heat up to 70+ degrees before shutting down. When gaming, it shuts down even faster. My friend and I have never used a laptop that has had these kinds of issues, this is the first time I've seen a laptop with such terrible temperature issues. We RMA'd the laptop to ASUS (We had to pay for shipping, btw), and even after they claim they fixed it, it still overheats and shuts down. Same issue as before when we sent it in. Absolute waste of time and money.

Worst laptop ever!

The laptop has lot of issues. 1). The battery issue. When I unplug the charger it is shutting down straight. 2). The cursor and touchpad behavior is so irritating. It is automatically giving spaces and then it is automatically erasing a document or text. 3). It is really slow. I spent almost 900$ for this. Just after using for 5 months is it now like a basic 200$ laptop. i think BestBuy just sold me refurbished or used piece. I would have got a mackbook pro with this much of money. please don’t buy it and if you guys experienced any early issues then go and return it asap. For me, they are asking to send this laptop for repair which mightn take 2-5weeks but who will provide a spare laptop in this time.

great idea poor design.

Had to place so back was lifted up and it stopped shutting down but poor design. heat is also blown directly on screen and you feel it on hands when using.
