I dont know if they wanted to avoid creating a "dock" or maybe just didnt want more than one wire extending from the brick but this is a last resort purchase because id another brand or even off brand makes a dock or bring with enough power, choose it! -- the wires are consistently in the way, especially worse when using outside a designated area.

Great for traveling with the ROG Ally

I use this when im traveling and i bring my Asus Rog Ally with me. One thing to note is there are third party options that have a dock stand.

For the price of this product, Asus should include a top notch USB-C cable. Instead, a $25 (USB verified) cable I purchased somewhere else ended up working. This would not charge anything, including my ROG Ally, with the included USB-C cable. I ended up returning it and buying a much less expensive, and more powerful, charger from a different company. It allows for my Ally to boost up to 30W when plugged in and came with a longer USB C cable. I really don't know what Asus was thinking with this. It's more of a common problem than it should be based on what I've read online. It's a great concept held back by a terrible USB-C cable.

They forgot to mention it supports that if you are lucky. I have 49" Samsung Oled wide screen, which is well below 4k resolution but this adapter does not display the picture properly. I fact it can display very few resolutions and all of them are the standard 16:9 ratio. If you have a monitor different that 4k or 1080p it's a lottery. I installed graphics drivers, monitor software, updated firmware, nothing helped. My cheap 10 bucks usb-c hub/docks work fine with my laptop and are able to display image correctly, unlike this Asus junk. Tested with a Serbent, Lisen and Ugreen hubs.(problem with them is the USB-c Cable is build-in the hub and its too short for my needs, that's why i bought this Asus) Tried to contact Asus Technical Support about the issue, but they are useless. They don't understand English, emails are GhatGPT or whatever they use, generated. Basically they are designed to blow you off. I'd stay away from Asus in the future.

I think it’s supposed to connect the alloy to your tv. But I was not ever able to get it to work maybe it get it you can get it to work.

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It looks nice and charges well, unless you plug an external drive in, if you aren’t actively using the drive it cuts power to the device and will also cut power to the ally for about 5 seconds until it switches to just the ally. For me that’s an issue, some of the multiplayer games I play if you drop below a certain frame rate it kicks you from a match. The USB 2.0 speeds are crappy, while normally averaging about 30mbs. That same drive in my laptop will go up to 400mbs
