Decent prebuilt value at $900, not perfect
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ASUS ROG G700 is a gaming desktop that immediately feels like a strong value the moment you start using it. For the price point it is usually sold at, the level of performance you get is genuinely impressive. It’s a good deal at $900. With the Intel Ultra 5 225F and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 paired with 16GB of memory and a 1TB SSD, everyday tasks feel effortless and gaming performance at 1080p and 1440p is smooth and consistent. When you compare this to what it would cost to source all of these parts and build a similar system yourself in today’s market, the prebuilt price feels very fair and in many cases ends up being the better deal once everything is tallied. The overall build quality is another good to great. The case feels solid, well finished, and measures close to 58L, which is large, and is thoughtfully laid out. The main panel is easily removable, making access simple when necessary. There is a reassuring sturdiness to the panels and the internal layout is clean and organized. The size of the chassis is especially appreciated because it leaves plenty of room for future upgrades, whether that is a larger graphics card, additional storage, or improved cooling. It feels like a system that was designed not just for today but also with long-term ownership in mind. That said, it’s a very “gamer” aesthetic, so if you don’t want that vibe maybe think first prior to buying. You could always move everything to a new case, however. There are a few drawbacks worth noting. The large PSU shroud takes up a noticeable amount of space inside the case, which slightly limits how flexible the lower portion of the system can be for expansion. ASUS also includes some proprietary software that you may not ever feel the need to use, especially if you prefer a cleaner system without extra background apps. Lastly, the keyboard and mouse that ship with the system are functional but very basic, and they do not match the quality of the computer itself. There is an additional M.2 slot on the MOBO, but ASUS didn’t include screws to add this in, which is an odd choice considering almost any other manufacturer does that. The GPU is good enough for all 1080p gaming and some 1440p gaming, but the 8GB VRAM is lackluster for future proofing. But of course, you probably understand that going in. It’s good for another 2 years but after that it may be time to upgrade. Overall, the ROG G700 delivers a good balance of performance, build quality, and upgrade potential for its price. It is an excellent option for anyone who wants strong gaming and productivity performance in a system that feels well constructed and ready to grow, as long as you are prepared to replace the included peripherals and accept a few internal layout compromises.

Excellent way to get into PC gaming and more!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Asus Rog G700 is the perfect pre-built machine to get into PC gaming without sacrificing anything. And if you want to you can upgrade it yo a beast of a machine. Getting into PC gaming has never been easier with Asus. They built a great "entry level" machine here that will be plenty for a new or seasoned gamer. Specs wise you'll get great 1080p performance which when played on a great monitor is hard to distinguish from 4k. Setup was as easy as can be with Windows 11. If you've set one up before it's still as simple as it can be. The machine itself is beautiful. The lighting and materials used look like a much more expensive PC. It's nice and quiet even when the fans are at full. I really like the lighting effects on this. Sometimes it can be a bit distracting but here it just looks like a light show. When it comes to performance I was pleasantly surprised that everything ran nice and smooth. No issues at all unless you try to push it passed the settings it's made for. And of course this does much more then gaming. It excels at all the other things you need in a PC. Videos, browsing, etc. are no problem. Even though it isn't necessary I'm looking forward to upgrading this into a bit more powerful specs. But for someone looking to get into PC gaming for an excellent priceook no further. The Asus G700 has you covered!

Nice low/mid price gaming computer.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked this computer up to liven up my office a bit. Occasionally my kids get bored while waiting on me and this little gaming computer has all the right spots checked. With an nvidia 5060, 1tb ssd, i5 processor, and 16gb of ram, it can game well. Wifi is good on this and runs well. The rog 27” curved monitor I have paired with this works well with this. The kids fire this up and play forza and fortnight quite easily. Load time is very good. The case footprint is average for a desktop. And the case itself solid build. Clear and the internal led’s look good. The airflow is very good also on this. It seems very well ventilated. Even with all these fans, this is pretty quiet. I do have some word processing and photo editing software on this and they all work well. I have hooked up cd drives to this and they all work well. Overall. I think this is a fair value, competative at this build level. I had the ROG monitor for over a year and had liked it’s performance, so when I saw this, I figured it would be good also, and it is. I do reccomend this. Well packed I the box when shipped. And trust me, the shipping company that dropped this off tested it in our area. Nothing was broken thank goodness but it is dusty. This is a good value.

Great Mid-Range Gaming PC
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Asus has been known for making performance and gaming PCs for a while and I usually look at the offerings from Asus first when I shop for a new desktop PC. This time I went with the middle range configuration of ASUS’s new 2025 ROG G700 series. I really think this PC was designed to balance affordability with solid gaming performance. Asus G700 also has the Ultra 7 and Ultra 9 models, however this model still packs enough power for modern gaming and creative workloads. I used this PC for various tasks from Outlook and Microsoft suit of apps to gaming and editing YouTube and family videos. Gaming titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Call of Duty, Fortnite ran beautifully at 60 - 120 FPS on high settings on my 1080p display. When I switched over to my Asus OLED monitor, at 1440p gaming some of my AAA games averaged 50 to 80 FPS on medium/high settings. When I pushed it to 4K gaming, I could definitely notice a difference: lighter gaming titles were playable all right, but demanding games I mentioned above required some tweaking and reduced settings. Unfortunately, the RTX 5060 is not designed for consistent 4K ultra gaming. I would say the graphics card in this PC is comparable to RTX 3060 Ti/4060 in performance, but optimized for efficiency. I am planning a few upgrades for this PC to make it more future proof. This PC supports DDR5 upgrades beyond the stock 16GB, so I will definitely be adding another 16 Gigs to it. Storage is also an easy upgrade as it uses M.2 NVMe PCIe slots, so you can swap or add larger SSDs. I also read that its RTX 5060 can be replaced with higher-tier GPUs like RTX 5070, 5080, and hopefully its space and power supply capacity won't limit those options. Also its CPU is socketed so theoretically it is upgradeable to Ultra 7 or Ultra 9. However, ASUS often uses proprietary motherboards, so compatibility depends on BIOS support, fingers crossed, it will be OK. I feel like this computer is a good example of ASUS balancing premium design with controlled upgradability, which I like and its gaming performance did not disappoint either. The ROG G700 Ultra 5 is a sweet spot for many mainstream gamers: very smooth 1080p, also capable of 1440p, and future-ready design at under $1K. Definitely recommend it to anyone who is on a budget.

Great System for Casual Gamers
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This ROG gaming desktop is a lower end ROG gamer from ASUS and is designed for casual gamers. You won't get and shouldn't expect high end competitive level performance. What you do get is decent mid-level gaming performance powered by the Intel Core Ultra 5 CPU and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060. The case is a full-size tower with customizable RGB lighting. The motherboard is ASUS B860M Max Gaming AX and components are upgradable. The sound card is just the standard Realtek audio. This is a great looking system when it's powered on and the case with the glass panel left side and three sphere front panel are lit up with the customizable RGB lighting and the keyboard and mouse are RGB color cycling! There're more than enough ports for any peripherals - 6 USB-A 5g; 4 USB-A 2.0; 1 USB-A 10g; 1 USB-C 5g; 1 USB-C 20g; 2.5g ethernet; 1 HDMI; 3 DisplayPort; plus, headphone and mic ports. The Wi-Fi is Wi-Fi 6 with an external antenna. A keyboard, mouse, and power cord are included. The keyboard is ten-key standard sized, RGB backlit with membrane switches. The keys are smooth and silent; they have a nice feel to them. The mouse also has RGB lighting. Both the keyboard and mouse are good quality but the Armory Crate version on this PC doesn't recognize either of them, so it's not possible to create macros or do any other customization on either of them. You'd have to upgrade to a specific ROG gaming keyboard and mouse listed as compatible with this system to be able to customize their functions through Armory Crate. To get the best performance possible from this system I recommend checking the graphics settings on high resource demanding games. For example, some games, like Call of Duty Modern Warfare Warzone, may have Ray Tracing enabled by default, which will max out the VRAM on the RTX 5060 and degrade performance. Other settings on games that put a heavy load on the CPU may max out the Intel Core 5 and also degrade performance. This ASUS G700TF will perform it's best when specific game settings are moderated on games that put a high demand on computer resources. Bottom line this is a great system for casual gamers who want good performance with good looks.

Quality Gaming PC for a reasonable price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The computer arrived in a large box that had the actual computer box inside, so it was well protected from shipping damage. First impression out of the box is that it's quite large. This is a tower case, so you need plenty of space for it. On initial boot, the fans are quite loud, but once the OS is loaded it quiets down significantly. There were no issues during Windows setup and it was a quick process. The computer is very fast and responsive. It loads applications quickly. We tested both Elden Ring and Call Of Duty, and both games were smooth and played well. The screen refresh rate was extremely smooth. Every game played showed 60+ FPS with reasonably high quality settings enabled. The video quality was outstanding. This was tested with the Alienware - AW2725D 27" QD-OLED QHD monitor at native resolution (2560 x 1440). It was also tested playing local video files as well as online streaming sources with excellent playback quality. Make sure you have the space for a full size tower unit, and this is an excellent choice for some pretty serious gaming. Pair it with a high quality gaming monitor for the best results.

Very capable gaming PC
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I think the ASUS ROG G700 Gaming Desktop is a very good value at this price point when considering the hardware. I think you get 90% of the function at 50% of the cost of a workhorse gaming PC. Physically, the PC is imposing. It has a very large case which is good in some ways but it certainly isn't space saving. The beauty of the case is the ease with which you can access the interior without tools and there is so much room to work with if you want to upgrade components later on. The RGB lighting is dynamic but not overbearing. There are 3 Display Ports, 2 HDMI ports, and 13(!) USB ports for all your peripherals. You'll be able to connect anything you want. The fans are also impressively quiet. Even during stress testing I could barely hear the fans and I never saw the CPU temps go above 75C. This is without overclocking. Speaking of, you will want to enable XMP in the BIOS settings to gain a little bit of power and performance. As mentioned, gaming frame rates, smoothness and lag are all pretty impressive if not top of the line by any means. I would say that the PC fights above its weight class in this regard. This is not billed as a performance productivity PC and that shows a little bit. Video and image editing is not as snappy as on my other desktop PC with hardware that is dedicated to that use case.
