Truly a beast of a router.

Very disappointing!!! When you spend this kind of money on an Asus ROG top of the line router and then find out the forum sights are filled with posts about all of the problems people are experiencing with this router. Adjoined with the poor firmware updates that don't seem to fix anything. Not what I expected from Asus at all!!!

Apart from the security sharing with your security vendor this thing is absolutely a beast! Endless capabilities and set up parameters especially if you take advantage of the AI mesh mode. I have my Asus RT-AC5300 as the node/switch across the house and have it as a dedicated backhaul for super maximum WiFi coverage and there is absolutely zero dead spots in or even around my house. 5/5 stars for endless possibilities for a router. Top 5 of 2020 for sure.

After you do the latest software update then it runs amazing. Buy this router if you are very tech savvy and understand anything to do with networking it’s definitely not true the normal individual that is not educated in networking. I definitely recommend this router if you have more than 12 people living in the house all morning to use the Internet at the same time. And if you are looking to buy this router and make sure that you have a docs is 3.1 modem or you will not be able to utilize all of the speeds that this wireless router has to offer.

That confused me that it was only on particular devices. I could not figure it out so I went back to a single WAP. This one worked great so far. It was easy to setup and covers most of my house. It's also fast! I wish all my computers had 802.11 ac. I did have to install a range extender for an ethernet jack in one part of my house but that is not an advertised feature so I cannot fault this router for that. It is expensive but it worked for me and that's what is important to me.
