Many found the improved signal strength and WiFi 6 capabilities beneficial, while some noted the router's large size and high price point as drawbacks. Had this for about a month now and I love it. I was using an older netgear router and this one blows it away. I have 250 mb internet and I can now get all 250 mb over wifi compaired to maybe 100 mb before. It is large but I expected that when I read the dimensions. Setting it up was super easy and changing settings was just as easy. If your a gamer its perfect I have had no nat issues nor have I had any lag with around 12 other devices using the internet at the same time. Worth the upgrade.

    The Beast of Wireless Routers

The ASUS - ROG Rapture AX11000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6 Router is by far the beast of all wireless routers and worth the cash drop for the most serious of gamers and streamers alike... IF you are willing to spend the time getting everything set up and if you have a broadband signal that warrants this beast. When we finally go this router running, it was amazing... Fast, powerful, far-reaching signal that made my mesh-network look weak. Biggest issue I faced is that it took over an hour to finally get the internet signal to fire up. All the Wi-Fi signals and ethernet signals we on and live in less than 30-second, but the internet signal remained red continuously. It took much effort and tech support calls to finally get it running, but when it did it was awesome! PROS - RAW Wireless Power! - Zero signal lose or blind spots - Massive range - over 1/4 mile for us... Seriously! - Quick start up and signal broadcast - Gaming boost CONS - Huge footpring compared to other routers - Difficult set up for us (See above), may be easier for other Rating is only for the set up process (3-star). Once it was finally set up it was a 5-star!

One of the best Wi-Fi 6 routers

In the world of Wi-Fi 6e routers, the GT-AX11000 still has a lot to offer. It has very competitive speeds with even the newest routers and enough features to keep even the most tech savvy individuals satisfied. I haven’t had a single disconnect since buying the GT-AX11000 and all of my devices are able to get full signal in all corners of my house. I also appreciate the second 5ghz channel: it can serve as a dedicated link for wireless VR gaming or as a dedicated wireless backhaul for future upgrades with AIMesh. I have very little to complain about regarding this router. It is a little bit big, so it takes up a decent amount of space. It’s customizability and features could also be overwhelming to some. Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase and would recommend this product to anyone looking for a router that will last years.

This router is awesome! This router will give you the fastest wifi you’ve ever experienced and includes a easy setup with its app. You’ll have options for just about everything. Customize how individual devices can use the internet, limit them even, if you have children. Gamers will be able to tailor they’re setup and prioritize their gaming needs ahead of other inbound traffic. It also looks pretty awesome. I paired this router with another ASUS router to extend my coverage.. pretty hilarious. Not only was it as easy as just hitting a single button in the app, but this router by itself covers a large area. By adding the 2nd router to extend this coverage, I’m pretty sure I could provide wifi to half my block. Anyway, it’s pricey, but we’ll worth it. I’ve tried several different routers from the top companies and this one won. It’s everything you’ll ever need within today’s technology.

This router rules! Awesome performance and great wifi range. I installed Merlin's custom firmware and it works great. I did add a small USB fan sitting on top to blow some air into the case. It wasn't running especially hot, but with any electronics, keeping it cool should prolong its life. Lots of great functionality like guest networks, traffic analysis, and lots of settings to tweak for ultimate control over your local LAN. Highly recommended and worth the price!

Added this to a very large, 100 year old house, with walls made with metal wires and plaster. Finally the whole house gets constant steady connection. Used many different routers, this finally works. We have Comcast Gig connection. When connected via ethernet getting 940-960Mbps so happy. With wifi depending on 2g / 5g getting solid connection. The device does not get hot as I thought it would. and I turned off the led light on the top, but you can control that to your liking. It is big. so make sure you have space for it on your desk or wall. We paired this with the Motorola - 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem to get the best performance. Did not have any issue setting up. With the guide any one can do it, just make sure you have a computer with an ethernet port to make things easier. Wish it was cheaper, but having the best and only few Wifi 6 devices is what I paid for.

A huge improvement over my previous router. It is very consistent and has good range through my 2600 sq ft house. I no longer need a range extender, so that is a huge bonus!!! This thing is solid and has a lot of great features, especially for gaming, prioritizing, etc. We have multiple PS4s, iPads, phones, TVs, and computers connected with no issues. It handles everything we throw at it without a hiccup - online gaming, streaming, etc. simultaneously on multiple devices. It's definitely a little pricey, so I was a little hesitant at first, but after nearly two months of use I will say it is worth the price. Even better if you find it on sale. I highly suggest updating the the firmware right away. It addresses issues that other reviewers have complained about and added updated wifi security to offer WPA3.

This is a very nice router. It's robust with a unique look to it & it's much larger than I originally thought. The speeds that are available to achieve are insane & having Wifi 6 onboard adds another notch to it's belt. The app is outstanding. It gives the user full control over the router's many features from the comfort of your ipad or Android device. For it to be so large & only have 4 ports is a tad disappointing. Especially since the ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 shipped with 8 ports. Overall I really like this device but it loses a star for not being all it could be.

I've waited a while to write this review because I was having trouble deciding if I liked this router. I wish I had gone with say an Alien mesh vs this as my older Linksys EA9500 seemed to work better. Setup on the base level is stupid simple and maybe if I didn't have a large device # smarthome (50+ overall devices wireless and wired)it would have been fine, but it has been enough of a pain to get working properly that it is not worth the price of admission. I have been hoping that anyone has had the same experience as me feeling let down at first but made it work somehow so I can turn my opinion around. Pros: -well made, sturdy and beautiful (I like edgy styling) -high speed lan port -ai protection is a nice added layer of security -super high speeds for compatible devices -signal power at a distance is great Cons: -adaptive QOS dragged my speeds to a halt - no amount of deep dive tinkering made this work properly, deactivated. -aura RGB does not function as in the examples its just an on/off flashing, dimming color change led, just keep it one color. -constant smart home disconnect problems, namely with google homes and google wifi home theater. I had to modify a myriad of advanced settings and disable wifi 6 on my 2.4ghz completely to keep my googles and alexa and other housewide smart devices connected and visible on the network, no default settings worked well and the more i tinkered even if i mad no changes to the netweork the devices were on would cause the whole group to not like to respond. -only 4 ethernet ports: for this price 8 should be standard -ip reservations aren't the easiest to deal with compared to other routers I've owned.

This router has been rock solid so far. It's UI is good, and laid out well, but could be better. It's features are among the best in the industry. It's fast, reliable, and performs as expected. My only issue is that it does take a little while to boot up. I try to reboot my router monthly so I do feel the time that it takes come back up. It's also a little expensive compared to some other models but it's worth the price. It's at least a 4.5 star (can't give half stars) despite those couple of minor things that I pointed out.

I know this router has the new wifi6 standard. But I don’t have any devices that have WiFi6. I ran a speed test with my current phone and computer and I’m now getting just under 500 mbps. My old linksys AC5400 triband took a dive on me recently but even whet it was new I was only getting just over 300 mbps. If your on the fence don’t be this thing is really fast wasn’t expecting better speeds until I upgrade my stuff to WiFi6. So to see my speeds get better with my current equipment is a pleasant surprise. Worth the money if your looking for top notch speeds and reliability. Ohh and the interface was quick and easy to use. I was able to set this Router up in less than ten minutes.

So far very happy with purchase. Service in area was upgraded to fiber so wanted to upgrade router to take advantage of speeds. Followed basic boot up process in app and was on line without any issues. Reconnected Samsung TVs, Foscam cameras, Nest thermostat and Lutron light systems on first try without any problems. My son is at school so have not connected for gaming yet. After a few weeks I lost connection to Foscam cameras. They would not connect everything else was on line. I was able to reboot the router remotely using the app as I was away. The cameras and everything else came back on line immediately.

I live in a apartment with cement walls so i decided to go with this powerful router since all my other routers would give me weak signal all around my house. Sure enough this bad boy gave me full bars anywhere i went even outside my building and across the street. I get my full internet speed no matter where i go now, the router looks great on top of my gaming PC since i can change the colors of the light. I bought this router to replace a two year old Netgear from a warehouse store. The Netgear had gotten very slow, they had not delivered on their commitment to update to firmware to incorporate WPA3. This router has been much stabler, with no reboots required except when I have to cycle both it and the cable modem after a Cox internet outage. The wifi 6 seems to work well, but so far I have only one client to use it on. It did show about 30% faster than ac wifi when I did a quick test. Range on it seems good, similar to the Netgear it replaced, covering our 1.5 story 2700 sf house and its garage completely.

The coverage with this router was amazing. It handled out 1800sqft home with ease. The best thing about it was how strong of a single it provided throughout the house. Although I prefer to wire in my consoles this provided incredible speeds wirelessly. No latency with a ping that varied between 6-10ms on the 5ghz frequency. Highly recommend and proved that it's worth the price tag. The only complaint would be the massive size of this router. And when you position the antennas it takes up a lot of realestate... but for the performance... it was worth the pedestal I had to set it on ;-)

Freaking LOVED this router. However, it suffered from the bug that plagues AX. After 8 months we were having issues with connectivity or it throttling back so bad that there was only a trickle of wifi. At the end, we actually had speeds drop to KB...not good. If you want to manage your WiFi to the nth degree, this has the software to do it. We replaced with an Orbi unit that works, but gosh do I sincerely miss the amazing software on this ROG. The arms are pretty flimsy which isn't great when you live in a house with German Shepherds and I wasn't thrilled that you can't really wall mount this, but when it was working, it was THE BOMB. I so want to try another one, but ASUS needs to work out some of the bugs. It was worth the money when it was working well, but I honestly expect more than 8 months out of a router that cost around $500. Our house is an older one with some original lathe/plaster walls (no wire mesh), and when this was first put into service, it didn't matter. This thing was so powerful that I could sit in my car - across the street - and still stream our WiFi. Our house is about 2800SF, not including the basement, and we got service there as well. In the backyard. On the freaking roof. I lament the passing of this unit SO MUCH. If you are a novice, the software can be daunting. If you are a gamer and know your shiz, this is AWESOME. Was easily getting 400+MBps when first set up. Load was 25+/- devices. Love that you could give priority to devices. Worked well with the KillerGamingNetwork card on my MSI. Willing to wait a while and try again...if you can find one. Sold out often, but noted a lot of people are having this issue. Broadcom chipset and Intel....bah.
