Customers are saying
Customers appreciate the ROG Rapture GT-AX11000's extensive range, strong performance, and ease of setup. Many found the improved signal strength and WiFi 6 capabilities beneficial, while some noted the router's large size and high price point as drawbacks. A few users experienced issues with firmware and the number of Ethernet ports. Overall, the positive feedback on performance and range outweighs the negative comments regarding size and cost.

This looks and performs like a beast!!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can say I was very impressed by the behemoth. The Tri-Band setup is awesome. And I love dedicated gaming port. The customizable front button is sweet. My only problems (dislikes) is the size and number of ethernet ports.

2 years and 2.6 months to stop working
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchase 2022; now it’s 2025. I had issue with new modem from charter which cause loss of internet until pain in butt charter be like- not our product, not our problem. 4 hr later with foreign and US transfers- finally got internet. To 2/8/25 - get home to no internet. Did usual reset/ unplug both devices plug in. My previous WiFi network played ‘I’m gonna be here until you reset my house and then I’m gonna disappear from your life’. It’s been 24 hours no internet WiFi with no device in my house that can just hook up to modem yay lack of everything except cleaning. Happy I don’t have a roomba vacuum I guess or security network with threat I guess. Anywho; I follow all instruction online except LAN hookup. Tried the reset (one with tiny hold to put a pen in to reset). Ya suppose to flash and then reboot. I’ve spend multiple 3 -5 minutes holding with tweezer, pen, screw, and the mini electronic flat head and Phillips screw drivers. Nope no flashing, just a steady power light just no WiFi connection on router. Every time I reset modem too. I give up after 5 attempts since yesterday; walk away and hope to comeback to work magic to actually have working WiFi router. Nope. Zero. So again play contact ASUS- first foreign connection and then US. Can’t make it easy. And now it urgent issue where I only have 10 days before my 2 year warranty + i guess additional 90 days manufacture parts aka until 2/20/25. Feel sketchy. And so I’m gonna be without internet 10-14 days due to shipping time and weekends. The reset button that I’ve only discovered 11/2024 and pressed once in my ownership; is broken? I spent lots of time and research to have one that would last and be good for future; my previous on lasted 9 years before I was forced to upgrade and What I thought I was purchasing actually like everything else made down. Buy to break so companies have faster turn around time in customers buying their product. Ever hear, if you build it they will come. 1-2 amazing products customers become loyal. Sony use to be that way before they move buy to break. So then they had to venture into other area to make money on top of their bad products. Also I feel like warranties gotten shorter and shorter. Side note: the whole unplug /plug modem was very frequent but I thought was charter monopolizing butts with crap services. Guess now I know

The AX11000 is a Beast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll not bore you with lot of techno-speak. I purchased the Asus AX11000 when it first hit the market in late 2019. My intent was to beef up my already existing excellent Asus Ai Mesh using two Asus RT-AC5300's in my try-level home. Incorporating the GTX-AX11000 proved to be a disaster. The GTX-AX11000 proved to be very buggy and not play well in the 2.4GHz realm. I wound up returning it and buying a GT-AC5300 using it as the backbone of the AI Mesh (RT AC5300 x 2 and GT-AC5300 x 1). November, 2020 I decided to give the AX11000 another go after reading of recent updates applied to it's firmware. I was also anxious to test AX speed (aka Wi-Fi 6) as I have an Apple MacBook Pro M1 13 inch on order. Upon setting it up and before integrating it into my Ai Mesh I immediately checked for Signature and Firmware updates of which the latter had one available. Long story short the AX11000 is performing beautifully. It is the backbone of my Ai Mesh (RT AC5300 x 1, GT-AC5300 x 1 and AX11000 x 1). I retired one of the RT-AC5300's. As a side note..I recommend that you have a little more than basic networking skills as proper setup is a must for optimum performance. My ratings for Value (pricy) and Ease of Use (setup) reflect my honest opinions...Quality aside. My Excellent overall rating is given as I can think of no other router in it's class with better performance. To be honest the AX11000 is overkill as has been said by others and especially so if you have no clients capable of using the AX/Wi-Fi 6 spectrum. However, if you want the best and to future-proof your network (where price is no objection) then I highly recommend the Asus AX11000.

Best router Ive ever owned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router is amazing. I returned a Nighthawk x6S because it was slow , not getting gigabit speeds on xfinity gigabit internet. This router was super easy to setup , I did not have to tweak any settings for it offer full gigabit speeds instantly out of the box. Has every feature you could want , and then some. Now the kids can do their online school while the wife works from home , and I can still stream 4k movies or play online games at the same time without any hiccups whatsoever. It is definitely a little large and obnoxious looking but I wasn't looking for a decor statement from it.

IT IS DIFFICULT TO FIND A ROUTER THAT REALLY WORKS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A few weeks ago, I purchased an Asus GT-AX11000 and it crapped within 3 days. I brought it back without any difficulty to Best Buy. While looking too see if their was anything else to purchase. So, they happen to have a Netgear Rax 120. I brought that home for 7 days and it ran. But it did not perform as good the Netgear X10 R9000 that I had installed. After measuring the performance between the Netgear Rax120 and the Netgear x10 R9000, I had conclusive evidence and experience that the old Router old Router out performed the new router on quite on quite a few areas, especially laptop response time handling multiple devices. I brought the Rax 120 back to Best Buy because there was no compelling evidence that it could out perform the Netgear X10. So I ordered another Asus GT-AX11000. It has been here for a week now and all of the lights are still on. The laptops within 10 feet are receiving response time feeds of 480 to 540 mps on a 400 mps line from Spectrum. My streaming speed on ethernet connect to the router went up 25 megabits per second to 85 on a 100 mps ethernet port. It is handling 25 connected devices including five TV's that streaming on Roku devices, 2 desktops, and 3 laptops, Arlo and cameras, Ring doorbell and chimes, 2 phones, and 18 terrabytes of personal cloud storage that backsup all of work and personal photos and videos. If this thing does not Crap out, it will be the best router that I have ever purchased. Here is my big complaint. Buying a router is a hit or miss situation. You don't know if it is going to work because you may have just picked up a piece of crap manufactured in China or Viet Nam or somewhere other than the USA which really has not been quality tested and made with parts that have not been quality tested. And second, if that router does not perform even though it works over a period of time, you got your self a pig wearing lipstick. I feel like I got lucky with ASUS because it not only stayed working it really does out perform anything that I have seen yet. I am not a game and use all 3 bands for personal use within the home so it is just fine. Here is a suggestion for you folks: purchase your technical gear, i.e. routers at Best Buy and get their add on protection plan for 2 years or more. Do it! That way you won't put yourself into harms way and any hassle. That is why I buy all my technical stuff at Best Buy, they really care for their customers on this plan. You will not be sorry and you can rest assured that they will stand behind their products. Amazon will leave your butt hanging in the wind, Best Buy is your partner and wants to assure your success. If you are going to make a $350.00 purchase of a piece of technical equipment and want to eliminate all of the risk, purchase it from Best Buy with the Geek Squad extra insurance. You cannot go wrong.

Expensive, but you couldnt ask for more..
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, if you are considering this router, you already know how incredible it is; sure, there are no AX devices yet, but, if you are looking at a new/upgraded router, look no further.. I get 500-600mbs wifi speeds almost everywhere in my house, even outside in the yard I get 400megs..my wired spoed is 1gb, and I get that easily on wired connections. If there is a downside, its the small amount (4) of lan ports on a super high end router like this, but, you probably have a switch laying around somewhere, so just add it for more ports.. This is the top router out right now, and, if you have another asus router laying around, put it into a mesh config with this thing, and you are set for anything that comes into your house! This is the one to get, if you can afford it..

Powerhouse Router with Price to Match
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As others have pointed out in their reviews, this is a pricey router. However, the price can be justified if you are looking four a router with great throughput, configuration options, and design. Most home users looking to browse the web and streaming content will not need this level of device. It is marketed as a gaming router and definitely fits the bill for that need. If the needs of this type of router justify the cost for you, then it is definitely recommended.

Problems.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the lower end ac 1200 router, it definitely has better range. It also does 94mbps on 2.4ghz vs 20. The problem is when I set it up with the wizard and it changes the wifi none of my windows computers can see it. My phones can, which is weird. Anyways I didn't spend 500 bucks on a router to have to diagnose problems. For 600 I built a 8700k 5ghz 24gb ram 5 lan router, with pfsense, and it doubles as a game server. The appeal of this product for me was I figured it would work with 0 problems, it did not. Also it is not better range than 2 of my ac 1200 routers. 500 bucks is way to much for this with all the problems it has. You can build your own that is 100x faster and better for 500 bucks.

Great...when it works.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was great for 3 years...then started randomly dropping the WAN connection when there was nothing wrong with the connection itself. The issue has just gotten worse over time. Tried reboots, factory resets, etc multiple time...just temporary fixes...and a waste of time. Not sure if it's hardware or software related. Put my Asus AC5300 back in as my primary router and everything is running great again. Can't say that I recommend this router for the money. I have 8 year old routers that are more reliable...

Upgrade
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have just moved from a NETGEAR - Nighthawk X6 AC3200. After running tests that I ran from a clean reboot of the old system and compared them to the new system, the Asus Rog has equal 2.4 range it seems. The 5ghz does not. I have lost a bar almost immediately. This just not seem to be as strong as I was hoping a newer router would be. I will configure to tweak this to see if I can gain back my signal, but testing the boost feature on laptops to see if any game performance is there for this feature. Setup was via cell phone, so I did not like that much. First Firmware had to be downloaded since the router could not download it by itself. The rest of the setup was not bad and hooked up to my ATT box with ease. No real issues other than the Wifi not being that strong. With the antennas that can be moved, I will look to see if that is an option to consider.

Ugly, unless you're 15; top Tier; Buggy software
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for the ax support, the gaming backhaul and the "promise" of Asus Ai Mesh (so I bi=ought two of these). Setup was pretty easy, but the interface was inconsistent and not logical. YouTubers looking for ratings and free product gave this router high marks across the board--but that was not my experience. The ax support worked, but the distance was shorter than the Orbi and the xfinity xfi I eventually ended up with. The Ai mesh cost me about 10 hrs. of trying to get to work and because I bought the routers at Best Buy, Asus wouldn't give me support--I was directed back to BB--and there was nobody who could help. So I returned them. I'm bummed but I have to have a mesh system in my house, and the orbi is way overpriced. This router is BIG and outdated in appearance. Netgear can do better, esp. in the software--it has to work more easily.
