    Great Router

I had a nice Wi-Fi mesh setup, but the second ASUS router was not performing at the same level as the AX-11000, so it was time for an upgrade. I installed the ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro, and the setup was fast and easy. My office speeds improved from about 650 Mbps down / 450 Mbps up to 950 Mbps down / 875 Mbps up. Just an FYI: complete the GT-BE98 Pro setup first. Let it do its thing, set it as the primary router, and allow it to update the firmware, etc. Second, if you are going to use another ASUS router for AiMesh, make sure that router’s firmware is also updated. After that, perform a factory reset on the secondary router, then add it to the GT-BE98 Pro AiMesh system. Overall, it took about 30 minutes from start to finish. Lastly, make sure you secure your system as much as possible. If you do not know what a setting does, do not just leave it turned on or off without understanding it. Do your research and make sure each setting fits the type of applications and devices you are actually using.

I have had this router for several months now and it seems to be working well. I haven't had any issues with it and it was pretty plug and play to get things working. I haven't tried wifi 7 because i don't have anything that really supports that and all my pc's are hardwired, but mobile devices and laptops are on wifi 6 and work great. The app that you download for setting up the device is nice as well. I game a lot and it has been great to have. I was disappointed that my older router had more Lan ports than this one, so that was one thing i didn't love about it, I also don't know if I would say the cost was justified for what you get but hopefully this will last me for many years because I don't upgrade things very often so hoping it stands the technology times for a few years. I was told that routers generally last about 2 years but my last router was a TP-Link that was 8 years old and worked great so hoping this one follows in that footstep.

Maybe the best WIFI 7 router overall

This is probably the best router overall I have owned so far. It has everything I want and need as far as features present on a router. It's fast. The WIFI coverage is exceptional. I only have this less than a month but so far not experienced any single problem. The only negative is the price. A little expensive but if you can afford it I would recommend this. I am not a hardcore gamer but the features on this alone is worth it.

The ASUS GT-BE98 Pro Is Not Just For Gamers

I'm not a gamer but there are reasons why I chose to invest in the GT-BE98 Pro. I use it as the hub for my ASUS AiMesh network with two RT-BE96U's as satellites. A big plus are the four (4) 2.5GB LAN ports which allows me to connect to the RT-BE96U's 2.5GB WAN ports via Ethernet backhaul and realize the best Wi-Fi coverage possible. Rock solid performance throughout my tri-level home. I have 3GB incoming internet via Google Fiber with Wi-Fi speeds upload and download at 1GB+. At anytime I may have 63 clients which includes 31 Sonos components all on Wi-Fi. If you own Sonos wireless speakers you know they are very chatty and can push a router to its limits. Dual 6Ghz bands allows you to use one as a wireless backhaul leaving 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz and a 6Ghz band available for your clients. I have Apple products that use the 6Ghz bands. Many customization features for those with the requisite knowledge/skills. The price point IMO makes it a non-starter for those with limited networking skills as there are better ASUS Plug n' Play router choices available. If you're a tech geek and want to future proof your purchase then the GT-BE98 Pro should be on your short list.

One of the top tiers home router you can get within its market of the bracket in the hierarchy NFS. Handling devices of over 18 in a small apartment it gets live. I can’t express how much of an improvement this was over my XR500 from netgear. Matching this with my fios internet I pay 119 monthly for 2GB speed. This is immaculate & you can imagine its 6A Ethernet cable to ensure speeds are on par. Those Xbox games you wanan download but has over 79 GB? Get it within 20 mins or less . The choice is yours when it comes to dealing with lag or insufficient range. Although the range may be limited as sometimes my parents room is deemed “far” from the router, my streaming from prime video tends to be choppy or my phone would have low signal, might need some networking tweak if that one room in your household has always been far away from the router. I suggest deploying a WAP or so?

It provides great coverage and extra features like device speed detection and web filtering. You can also turn off the extra lights, which was my first step, the dead spider look is cooler without the lights. The only downside is the user interface is a little strange, the mobile app and web interface have different organization methods and even different features.

I upgraded from a Wi-Fi 6 setup and the difference is huge. My ping dropped in multiplayer games, downloads are blazing fast, and I can stream 4K while gaming with zero buffering. The quad-band setup manages multiple devices with ease, and the gaming prioritization features actually work. If you’re building a high-end setup, this router is a must.

Crazy expensive but maybe worth it. Gaming, streaming all work great. I was unsure about 6g, but found out I have a few devices support it. Really cool to easily see every device on every frequency on the router from the phone app. Also was clear that my ISP was having issues after installing this beast.

It was time for an upgrade, my Asus 3100 router was old and so was the cable plant in my home. I changed by Cat 5 to Cat 6 cable and upgraded to the GT-BE98. This router is a beast! It has endless configuration options, including two separate 6ghz radios. I wired my gaming PC directly to the router so I minimized any bottlenecks. Signal range was about the same as my old 3100. I don’t have many devices that use Wi-Fi 7, only our new iPhone 17s. Once I upgraded my FIOS connection to 2GBPS, my speed tests (done from the router) went from 630MBPS to 2350MGPS! HUGE improvement. If you want to maximize your options, this is the router to buy. It is expensive, but can be configured for endless scenarios and is as future proof as I could find.

Upgraded to this from my old Asus RT-AC5300 that I got back when 5GHz was still pretty new. It's a worthy upgrade, and my partner and I are looking forward to utilizing the 6GHz more for VR. One thing I was a little disappointed with was the fact that you can't link the dual 6GHz bands together like my old one can for 5GHz. It's very chonky, so make sure you have the space!

It’s ok it seems to work seemlessly with my devices I had an ax 11000 worked great wit an ASUS 92 as a mesh. Now I have this be98 as my main unit and ax 10000 and ASUS 92 as mesh nodes. One router on every floor. No dead zones outdoor wireless cameras work beautifully my son PS 5 says it’s faster. I have 1g internet not much improvement in way of speed but the coverage is phenomenal. After a few firmware updates it’ll be fine. Oh out of the box the router had to be reset. ASUS walked me through it and setting up mesh on the phone. Very good tech support.

This router is exactly what I payed for and more! I didn’t think that the jump would be that great, but it boosted my 1 gbps speed from getting an average of 660 to it averaging 995 now! Well worth the upgrade and I will keep this thing for years now compared to paying a subscription for my router! Definitely recommend.

This thing is a beast and the factory packaging is excessive. It took longer to unwrap all the packaging than to set my network up. Once you’re plugged in setup is easy through the app or web interface and very user friendly. The router itself is a beast and the lighting is kind of obnoxious but that’s ok because that’s the target audience and besides, you can turn it off. I simply care that it performs and it truly does. I had an Eero 6 Pro 3 base station setup before this which worked great in my 2600 sq ft single story house. I just upgraded to AT&T 2 Gig internet and this router is exactly what I needed as most routers on the market will not cut it. Wired tests were phenomenal: 2300/2300 Mbps download/upload on Cat 6 cable and 940/940 on Cat 5E through a gigabit switch. I don’t have any Wifi 7 devices so I tested with my Wifi 6E iPhone and I got the following in order of closest to furthest distance from the router: Office at front of house(router location) 1230/1400 Living room (adjacent to office) 1000/600 Family room 580/190 Garage (adjacent to office) 1120/850 Guest bedroom 640/260 Bedroom 1 720/280 Bedroom 2 480/150 Master Bedroom 520/160 Master bathroom (furthest room to router) 50/10 Standing next to the router it will use the 6GHz band which is great but the range is minimal. Standing at the furthest room in the house it drops to 2.4 GHz where the signal will be great but the actual throughput on this band is kind of mediocre but still usable. There’s always room to expand as it can mesh with other Asus routers so that’s a plus. I highly recommend this router if you’re getting more than 1 gig from your ISP: this and Cat 6 cables are the ticket for the ultimate home network.

I'm very impressed with this! I couldn't believe how much better my network performance increased by switching to this. It's been lightening fast and reliable. I haven't had any problems at all. I replaced the Fidium router with this Asus Router. I gained speed and lost ping time. I get well over 1 Mbs of WiFi 7 speed to my Samsung S25, and my hardwire ethernet connections are also much faster.

BOOOOOOOOOY this thing is sweet! I have a wife that works from home plus kids. I can group all their devices and monitor up and down speeds. The app has functions so that you can prioritize which devices you want to have better speed. Made me a little nervous when installing my own VPN but it was just resetting itself. Definitely do a little research and follow the instructions along with the app. Great buy and can't wait to add on more for a mesh wifi system

Very good range in a two story town home. The walls and ceiling still provided a bit of a challenge for upstairs as I had to place it down stairs, but provided much stronger signal than the included ISP Gateway from Comcast. While it did its part very well I decided to return this and switch to the Orbi mesh system. For those not running mesh or on a one story residence I’d highly recommend this. The antennas are not subtle in appearance however
