I have like 15 Device at home and they gave me lag even tho i was the only one connected via Ethernet and other devices using 5Ghz band or less. I had previous 2 ROG routers which were good but not as good at this. This Router is very fast on Wi-Fi 7 and the MLO is an amazing addition , game first works perfectly even better than previous ROG High end routers and the security features of router are amazing ! I had a laptop from 2017 that was infected with viruses and never knew about it until this router connected to it and analyzed the health of connected devices , fantastic! Highly recommended !

I had an 8-year-old ASUS router, which wasn’t really up to modern standards. I went ahead and got the best router available. The ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro. It looked like a perfect router with plenty of ways to configure it. The onboard OS offers plenty of options to tailor your home network. So I decided to start pretty much vanilla with just the default settings on a basic home network. The problem was that things couldn’t get a reliable connection. This isn’t my first rodeo, as I have been in the computer design business since the 1980s. I went through every step I’d learned before, and still things refused to connect. I like a challenge, so I went in search of other remedies. I came up empty, so I called ASUS Tech support. Several calls later, I took it back to Best Buy and exchanged it for a new router. I got the new one home, and it was even worse than the first. It took between three and ten minutes to connect to the internet, and then you had a very poor connection. Connecting the internet to the 10G port (Default) enabled LAN but disabled Internet. Connecting to 5G allowed internet, but no LAN. It would take my computer a minimum of 5 minutes to connect to the internet when connected via an Ethernet cable.
I called support and was escalated to Tier-2 support, who would contact me within two business days! I called three business days later and was escalated once more, but still no calls. I called and asked to be transferred to tier two support. I was transferred, and they had me email them the router config file. I will be contacted within two business days. Here we are more than two weeks later with no calls from tech support. I did get an email from them with questions, and I answered them, and still no calls. I need a router to be functional out of the box. The two I bought may be from a bad batch. ASUS has done nothing to keep me as a customer.
Before you ask, yes, the internet is completely functional on just the modem and on other routers.
We sincerely apologize for the deeply frustrating and unacceptable experience you've had with two ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro routers and our support process. Your detailed account, especially given your extensive expertise, clearly indicates a systemic issue with the product's core functionality and our customer service follow-through, not user error. This is certainly not the quality or support we aim to provide for a high-end device. To help us thoroughly investigate this, please ensure your router's firmware is updated to the absolute latest version. If the connectivity issues persist, we urge you to immediately send feedback via the router's WEBGUI at the time the problem occurs. This will capture crucial diagnostic data for our engineers. For direct assistance and to discuss this further, please contact me at [email protected]. Kindly include a link to this post so I can reference your detailed feedback and work towards a resolution.
Thank you for choosing ASUS!

This router is expensive, but super fast and very configurable. I actually don't even use all of the features, just using it as an access point for now, but will eventually add some more to replace my current mesh configuration.

I debated buying this router for a long time and watched countless online reviews before finally deciding to purchase it. Nearly everything I saw was overwhelmingly positive, with only a few mentions of 2.4 GHz signal drop issues. I’m not sure if I ran into the same problem, but my connections kept dropping, and the Wi-Fi signal on my phone consistently fell by one or two bars. This was noticeably worse compared to my other tri-band Wi-Fi 7 router.
I updated the firmware and explored nearly every feature to try to optimize performance, but the issues persisted. It’s possible that my unit was defective, but for now, I’ve decided to return it and go back to my previous tri-band Wi-Fi 7 router
We do understand your disappointment with the product and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing weak wireless signal. To resolve the weak signal, place the router in the center of the area you want to cover, avoid placing the router near metal objects, electronic devices or direct sunlight, position the router on a flat, hard surface and halfway between the floor and ceiling. Additionally, dense building materials, such as gypsum, concrete walls and planks can affect Wi-Fi signal penetration. Also, we recommend updating router's firmware if it is running with an older version. Firmware is available for download at: https://rog.asus.com/networking/rog-rapture-gt-be98-pro/helpdesk_bios/. Furthermore, legacy devices may not work properly with WIFI-7, check updates for these devices. Also, try to disable "Smart Connect" and try connecting these devices manually to either 2.4GHz or 5GHz.
Should you need further assistance with the product, please email me at [email protected] and I would be more than happy to help. Or you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent from the link: https://www.asus.com/us/support/article/1135/.
Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

Expensive and placement matters but it’s feature packed and fast!

Expanded features makes this router not for the novice.
Make sure it's placed in the right location, it's powerful, but still doesn't travel through walls that well.

Absolutely incredible product! I have 5 gig internet speeds with fiber optic from Visionary! This was able to boost it past that and give me extremely stable WiFi! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
