The performance per $$ is hard to beat, however you will need to upgrade the ram and SSD to get the most out of it. Upgrade is simple but expect to spend another $400. Once upgraded it runs well but I have been getting random restarts when playing MS flight sim - not sure if it’s overheating or not. On oculus it shows it not VR ready and sometimes requires a few restarts to be able to use VR. The cpu runs extremely hot even under light load which I don’t know if it’s normal. Avg 85 c in daily use and 95 c temps when gaming.
The build is plastic feeling, lots of screen flex and feels cheap but if you are in it for performance and gaming this might be the best budget gaming laptop available.

This laptop has been a major upgrade even from my desktops Vega64 card. There have been some issues, which if you do a quick search on reddit; you'll find a detailed post on how to fix most of these issues. The main problem seems to be the random reboots. The cause of which is the graphics driver. It's recommended to NOT update the graphics driver from what comes installed on the laptop from the factory. There are also issues with the laptop going to sleep properly. Hopefully this will be fixed in a later update.
I haven't experienced any of the GPU issues that others have described that are related to the poor application of the liquid metal compound. So far so good.

Pros: fastest CPU and GPU combo for the money.
Very bright 1080p screen with good viewing angles and minimal backlight bleed.
Reasonable temps for such high end components.
Cons: No mux, Slow ram, tiny/cheap ssd, HDMI is wired to the igpu. No USBC connectivity if you're using an external monitor.
This is literally a brand new GPU so there's only one driver out so far. Which isn't really a con but expect performance to increase when new updates are released.

Amazing value you will not be able to find a better performing laptop for a cheaper price. Only issues are the storage space and the AMD drivers. You will NOT be able to play older generation games (mid 2000's titles) due to AMD's lack of empathy for older titles. It will not matter how far you roll back the drivers the games will not work and even if you do manage to get the older tiles to work using previous generation drivers it will screw with your ability to play current gen and VR titles. So overall Hardware 9.8/10 AMD drivers 7.5/10.

I haven't got to game on this so far other than some rather low demanding games so far. But it's worked very well.
Cooling on this is so much better than my old HP that died within 2 yrs due to poor thermal controls. HP would be hot with a browser open.
Very satisfied with my limited us so for. Seams to stay cool even after hours of use.
I did have some issues with wifi connections after restarting a couple times.
Best screen I've had on any of my 4 laptops I've owned.
I will update this once i've pushed it harder but seems like a great laptop so far.

Powerfull machine with bad temps

I bought this laptop two months ago, overall is an excellent laptop, but the only bad thing is the temps of this laptop, in all the games that I play, the CPU easily reach more than 93 °C using no more than 40%, so it makes me think that the liquid metal of the CPU was not well installed.

The specs that come on this laptop are top notch, however, there are some minor flaws that hold back it's true potential.
The gpu inside this laptop on paper is spectacular, with a few caveats holding it back.
When not using it routed directly through the DP 1.4 you are not getting the the full power, due being routed through the igu which saps some preformance.
Also the ram included with this laptop is also bottle neck that will hold back the true potential of this laptop. Get x8 vs x16 3200mhz and your off to the races.
Fixing these 2 flaws with the machine will net you about 20/30% gaming preformance uplift.

Was great for the first year, but now i have had to factory reset multiple times and still have a driver error and the gpu is in power saving. Super disappointed cos its a great machine just out of warranty. When it works its hard to top this laptop, i put 32gb of ram and a extra 2tb of storage in it and it is a beast for anything but gaming now.

A few great features and a few down. First of all this is a gaming laptop no question. Graphics card is fast but really not a lot of support out there for this as many graphics hungry programs are not compatible so it lags and becomes useless, bad experience specially using SOLIDWORKS so if you plan to use this computer for engineering software... think again because you're going to waste $1.6k the power supply is heavier than a concrete brick and bulky, the cooling fan will wake up a mummy. The bios settings are easy to navigate and update. Overall a super fast computer but not enough driver support and noisy.

I had purchased this at a steep discount making it the most powerful GPU in the price range. They ended up putting the qhd version with better processor on sale so I swapped them out. Three things that I would complain about would be the crappy RAM, unfixable MediaTec wifi card that will fail for anyone who updates the drivers, and the lack of a MUX switch. The wifi card and ram are replaceable at a reasonable price. I look forward to seeing the next version of Advantage Edition over the next few years.

Amazing Laptop! - 2buckGeo

This laptop is AMAZING. You don't believe me? Check out my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrCr817_orI
(2buckgeo is youtube name). This laptop rivals the 2080Ti in performance, it beats the G14/G15 Zephyrus 3060/3070 models. The 5900HX will run any program FAST, and the boot time is FAST. This 5900HX feels faster than my 5800X on my desktop. CPU Temps are what you would expect and are GREAT. They vary between 65C to 88C depending on game. GPU temps are GREAT, they never go above 77C and vary from low 60s to high 70s. Screen is a great size. My only advise is to update the stock ram and add a second nVME drive. You are solid. THIS PC IS 9/10.
The laptop has RGB keyboard single zone with different effects (breathing, static, etc).

It's a really good value considering what it's packing. It has quite a bit questionable QA issues, but overall for the price is really good. Yes it has no MUX switch, but people really are making a bigger deal about this than what it is, if you got one of the first units check the RAM and upgrade if it's the crappy one, the new wave has been shipping with faster RAM. The FPS using an external monitor is obviously a little better than the internal screen, but it really isn't a huge deal breaker. This laptop still beats any other laptop in this price range and competes with the $2-3k laptop price range and even beats some of those. That being said, just inspect it when you get it, make sure it's running as it should, immediately run a stress test to check the GPU/CPU temps, if they're really bad return, probably means you got one with a crappy paste job as others have shown here. I returned mine because the enter key didn't work, go figure, got another one and it's perfect. Again, people, for the price it can't be beat, especially considering you can't even get a decent GPU at this price point.

Runs great outta the box and plays games better than my desktop. Never had a good laptop experience untill now. The rgb adds a nice touch and completes the look of the laptop. Performance is top notch ide say with a decent amount of battery life. Battery is great for a gaming laptop but dont expect to be playing games like battlefield much while unplugged. Btw the 300hz screen is crazy and further compliments the whole experience of a premium gaming laptop.

So I had been considering getting myself a new actual “gaming laptop” for quite some time. I was checking deal sites almost daily, hoping something would pop up that would be worth it. And then the day came when this laptop was on sale! After reading some comments other people posted, I was amazed at how many positive things everyone had to say about it.
Did some more research, and discovered that many sites claimed this laptop to be one of the best of 2021. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity and was even happier to learn they had them in stock near me.
And let me just say, this laptop is AMAZING! I seriously couldn’t have asked for a better performing, sleeker looking, and/or mind blowing specs then this has! It handles every single game I throw at it with ease, and can even play all the VR games that my quest can use thru it. It’s incredibly quiet for being such a beefy beast.
The only negative I’ve discovered was the size of the ssd. But that was easily fixed by purchasing an external 1 tb ssd. I plan to upgrade the memory soon(since every where I have read recommends doing so), but even without that it’s still extraordinary!
Highly highly recommend this to anyone in the market for something that is portable and can perform on par with many of the high-tier desktops of today.

Asus Advantage laptop have not had any problems with this at all . I read the reviews and watched the you tube video's before purchasing , so I was a little worried about GPU failure I did upgrade ram to 32gb and added a 1tb SSD do yourself a favor and use the ifixit tool kit works great. Battery life seems good, I think it's a good value

This laptop is amazing and at it's price point it can not be beat. For work I have a Surface Studio with an i7 and a rtx2000 and the G15 outperforms it in every aspect. My son has a Ryzen 3600xt and a rtx3060ti desktop PC and in gaming the G15 beats it hands down. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for an affordable laptop.
