Stop complaining, it’s a good laptop for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first one I got didn’t recognize the gpu at all, only the integrated gpu. I tried to update bios and looked for information online to fix the issue, nothing worked. I returned it and reordered it. The second is completely fine and works so well. Yes, it has no MUX switch but then again you’re getting a gpu that’s in competition with a 3080 for half of the price. If you even try and get something comparable, have fun paying Atleast $3000. For the price this laptop is really good. Also, upgrading the ram isn’t that expensive and gives a 10-20% FPS boost in games.

Good laptop with minor
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, it's an ok Laptop. A bit heavy but what you get inside of this chunky boy is awesome. Full AMD laptop with some minor imperfection. The panel is aluminum and the body is full of hard plastic, The only about the panel is if you put it under the light, you will see the panel itself is not really perfect with some minor bend or deformity during the manufacturing process. It is a decent laptop with solid 8 out of 10

Great minus the temps
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The cpu can run a little hot but with some tweaking to the settings, this thing is a 1080p machine.

Excellent Performance, Not just for the money
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've experienced zero issues with the system. Yes turbo runs fine in some games, and poorly in others. The performance profiles are tied to a physical switch, so changing is easy. Also, for my system at least, a RAM upgrade to achieve increased performance is no longer a thing. Out of the box I received Micron DDR4-3200, R1x16 RAM from the factory with 22-22-22-52 timings. Gaming performance is excellent. I am running Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Wildlands and Cyberpunk 2077 with no discernable dips on an external 1440p monitor. Make sure you use a USB-C to DP 1.4 cable in order to get the best performance. External 1440p monitor with Displayport I'm seeing 11000+ Timespy scores running Turbo.

Let down.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Here's the dealio with this laptop. It's finicky. Very finicky. If you're the type of person who does not know how or does not want to deal with driver issues, software shenanigans, and registry edits then you might be better off looking for a RTX 3070. Assassin's Creed Valhalla does not run well on this machine. Especially not out of the box. Using the in game FPS limiter to around 75 FPS will return better results but still expect the computer to crash every 45 minutes or so. Other games are a bit better, but I'm still on edge while playing for the dreaded "driver timeout error." I've read pretty much every thread on reddit about this VERY prevalent issue which can typically be mitigated or addressed by turning the GPU clock speed down a bit. Unfortunately, tuning the GPU is not possible due to AMD locking their mobile cards. So other solutions have to be found such as FPS limiting - which is not a true solution as it also inserts some input lag and does not allow the full performance of the card. It is my understanding that the problem with this laptop is the overly generous boost clock of the GPU that cannot be sustained by the hardware. The GPU on this laptop will regularly hit 2575mhz and stay there because the cooling solution is so good. To put it in perspective, this cards listed boost by AMD is 2390mhz. However, with no way to adjust power delivery or voltage due to AMDs lock on their mobile cards, customers aren't able to either lower the clock or raise the voltage to ensure a more stable experience. It's a mess and unless AMD either decides to unlock their cards to voltage or clock speed control or adjust this cards top boost speed in the bios this situation will continue. Before everyone cries foul and user error, I've reinstalled Windows, cleaned drivers in safe mode with DDU, tried with all programs uninstalled, tried with all stock programs installed, made troubleshooting registry edits, tried different driver versions - there's only two for the 6800m, and tried tweaking to the best of my ability power limits to the GPU and CPU combined using Armory Crate to no avail. I have regular crashes in AC: Valhalla. No crashes (so far) in Doom Eternal, AC: Primal. One crash in Apex Legends. One crash in Torment: Tides of Numenera. Pros: Build quality Top tier hardware Decent screen Great speakers Beautiful RGB Best cooling I've had in a laptop. Cons: Serious stability issues Not a 1440p screen Keyboard a bit mushy Arnory Crate a must for nearly all features Limited bios Track pad is "creaky." (But accurate.)

TLDR: definitely worth the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simply an amazing laptop! ill try to keep this review straight to the point. the price to performance is unmatched. I've been looking for a gaming laptop for several months before buying this one and this is the best bang for buck I've seen. BATTERY: battery life is very good, about 7-8 hours of just regular workload and about 1.5-2 hours of gaming (i mainly play apex legends on medium-low settings to save power) THERMALS: sit around 68 degrees C on normal workload and around 87 degrees C on gaming. FRAMES: on warzone i get average 210fps (medium-low settings). on apex i cap it at 75 but its gone up as far as 250fps. this thing can handle max settings but it'll die within in about 1 hour. struggles with raytracing unless you turn down some settings.

Strix G15
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a all AMD setup and its awesome. Handles anything I got. Power brick is a bit on the large size but its a powerful machine so I understand. Screen is high quality. I like the feel of the keyboard. This will be my daily driver for a long time. I do recommend this product. I only wish other manufactures had this all AMD combo as well.

Great buy!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice panel and great gpu/cpu. I do recommend changing the ram for sme better timing ones for 15% + fps improvements. Solid feel, good build. Keys feel nice to the touch. All the ports in the back make for great setup if u have a monitor and many periferals. Wifi6 compatible is great. Great buy, as it competes with $2500 laptop at around $1700.

||Posted . Gaming on a new level now
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I play some off the beaten path games and the one I have been waiting for is finally here. Necromunda: Hired Gun. Yeah I play some odd games. it is like an RPG shooter meets War Hammer 40K. So I had been playing this game for about half a week after getting my G15 Advantage, then the game came out with "DSR." Was not really sure about this but it stands for dynamic super resolution. Turning it on and my frame rates went up by about 50%. I was already playing Hired Gun with all the video stuff turned on, and it was crazy fast, but DSR makes it even faster. The screen on this laptop is one of the best I have ever used and I am playing at frame rates over 200fps. The RGB is really cool and you can set it up a bunch of different ways with different colors and patterns. The touch pad is huge and works great but of course you need a mouse. The laptop feels really well built in your hand too.

Buy this now or be sorry later.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.ok. This laptop is beyond worth the price. The CPU is INSANE. I can mine Monero and still game at the same time. Mining Monero with all applications turned off and you can pull about 6000 hashes with HUGE PAGES enabled. This laptop is the biggest steal Ive seen. And ASUS is one of the best brands to ever do it. I am becoming a fan of AMD more and more after this laptop. I dont play high end games, D2 resurrected, Warcraft 3 reforged, WoW, Apex Legends and they all run on the highest settings....while I am mining Monero. Pretty Impressive. No too noisy unless you have it set in utlra performance mode...or if you mine Monero the fan will start to quick in. When I am just gaming you can hardly even hear the laptop running. I have no complaints about this machine at all. And for the price I couldnt pass it up. Biggest steal Ive seen.

Better return window to match mfr. warranty!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop is very attractive and mine seems to work well, however it does make a low buzzing noise when it's using the 6800M GPU. After doing some research I'm pretty sure it's just coil whine. I did take it to Best Buy but the Geek Squad was very unhelpful and borderline rude. I've decided to return it; ultimately it's not worth the risk that the GPU will fry after the 2 week return window is closed. I would have sent it to Asus under the manufacturer's warranty instead but I didn't want to lose the option to return it for a full refund. If I had kept it, some other minor complaints are that the fans are very loud but with headphones or the volume turned up that isn't a big issue. It also has accumulated a ton of fingerprints for just one week of light use. Like others have said, no MUX switch so for best performance you need to hook up to a monitor. Also no webcam which is annoying but not a deal breaker.

Posted .Dear Paige,
We do understand your concern about the fan noise.
It is normal for the fan to spin at full-throttle and generates noise louder than normal while the laptop is under heavy load like gaming, especially during the initial WINDOWS setup and WINDOWS Update installation. Also, the fan noise will be louder while antivirus software or malware are running continuously in the background. Please make sure the system was not compromised by viruses or malware by doing a full system scan using an internet security software or application.
When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle and noise will be louder than normal. It does decreases or normalizes once utilization goes down.

I love this thing
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super speedy. The stock hard drive configuration kind of sucks, but luckily the price of nvme drives has come down. It's been pretty reliable and it's not a battery pig. It's reasonably lightweight and performs well gaming for a laptop.

Good stuff! More AMD plz!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Price point is nice! Needs new ram, stock is slow and holds it back. No MUX chip meaning a performance hit but with external monitor that problem goes away, since the DP port is connected directly to the GFX card. With those two things, it preforms around a 3080 at a big time price difference. No HDMI 2.1… No Thunderbolt 4, USB-C port though. Bought two, had to return one because of dead pixel and high heat and some BSOD. The other one I got is perfect so far.
