So far so good!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked up this laptop yesterday. For a gaming laptop, its thin and light for sure. Having the additional m.2 slot for an additional nvme drive was a big bonus. I haven't seen that in any laptops in this price range! I added in a 512GB nvme that I had from my previous laptop and it worked immediately!

Love it!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I should start out by saying I’ve never had a gaming laptop, always been just an Xbox gamer but I decided to dip my toes into computer gaming and this is a great laptop for it! For the games I play it has worked perfect. I’ve played world of tanks/warships, insurgency sandstorm, Minecraft, and various other games.

Very noisy
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mine has A Very annoying Coil whine, waiting to see if it goes away with time. I also Had a fan problem, it was a loud rattling sound but as soon as I turned down the fans it disappeared. I still feel there’s a little rattle, debating wether to try to get an exchange(as I just got it 2 days ago) because the noise did scare me. Besides that it’s good value for price gaming experience is very good.

Poor Gaming Laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so surprised at the poor performance on this laptop. I have a desktop with a Ryzen 5 and a Radeon 5700 XT graphics card. I bought this laptop to game while traveling and downtime at work. Now I didn’t expect it to give me the same results as my desktop but a Ryzen 7 cpu with a 1660 ti graphics card I expected somewhat of smooth gaming at the least. I mainly play Overwatch and Call of Duty Modern Warfare. Now I do understand those are intense games but still. I updated the drivers. Overwatch was very choppy and laggy meanwhile call of duty was just a joke. Also the screen would flicker from time to time and the laptop also gets very hot while the fan is sort of loud. I was trying to be cost effective and purchase this but you pay for what you get. Seems like I’m going to have to spend the extra money and maybe get a Razer laptop. I am returning this laptop after one day of use.

Posted .Dear Jamaal,
I'm sorry to hear that you had various performance issues with this laptop. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control, testing and inspections. What you've experienced was not intentional or representative of our brand. Good gaming laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super, this is my first ever gaming laptop, in a reasonable price for a starter I believe it's a great deal. It's fast enough to play games, capture videos and sound is good enough to enjoy playing games. Nice colors and the battery lasts for a reasonable amount of time.

Good Gaming Laptop!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to replace a thin and light laptop with something that had more video power. After a lot of research, I chose this Zephyrus. It is fast, has no problem running any program I put on it, and looks great! This is my first gaming laptop, and I am very satisfied with its performance!

Great Gaming Laptop for the Price Paid
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I got this laptop on sale and it's my first real gaming laptop. It's very fast, and handle lots of data very quickly. I am using games that I mod heavily and it plays it like it was born too. Plus, it's very easily to upgrade and add another SSD and RAM into the back as well. Great laptop.

Great all around laptop for young student
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this as a graduation gift for my son and he loves it. Battery life is pretty good, seems to last about 6-7 hours. It's very thin and light. It's good for gaming and school work. The screen could be brighter but does the job. I got it on sale and think it's pretty good value.

Great laptop for gamers
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall very good quality laptop. ASUS is an A+ brand for gamers overall but, this laptop has one problem that I have found. I’m upgrading my WiFi card for about $20 on amazon because the WiFi card that comes with this has serious driver issues. I’ve got gigabit internet and this WiFi card for some reason only pulls about 30 mbps when it should easily pull 500-600 no problems. All my other devices in the same area pull 350-600 which is my phone and my Xbox one.

Nothing but problems
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this laptop being so far away from home during this pandemic, I thought with the specs it had it would be able to perform to an acceptable level so I could at least play some games. First thing I notice hitting start is the fans sound like they are about to take off, I hear them loud and tin sounding even through my headset. If it was just that I would be fine, but during gaming the screen is very nice and when things are loaded in they look really nice! The issue is frame drops constantly, there will be times where a 10 year old game will get 5fps. New games too! It seems like it did not matter the game it would always stutter. Cherry on top is right after my Best Buy return timeframe finished, I left my laptop on for a 2 hours while I ate food and spent time on the phone with my family. I come back and it is off and won’t respond to any inputs. Tried it I hold the power button and nothing. It’s dead after just a few weeks. Maybe I got something faulty with all these issues, but I’d love a fast fix and will adjust my review accordingly.

Great mid-level gaming laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned a number of gaming laptops over the years and have always wanted an ASUS gaming laptop and I have to say, that in most respects this does not disappoint. Initially, the packaging is quite nice, when you open the box, the laptop is lifted and presented to you like a gift. It's well laid out and not full of extraneous literature, really consisting of just the power cable and a couple of warranty cards. The power cable is disappointingly a standard barrel plug instead of a USB-C power cable as so many are anymore which would have been nice, but it could be that this laptop has different enough voltage/current requirements that they couldn't make a USB-C connection with enough compatibility. That said, the laptop does have 1x USB-C 3.1 Gen2 (thunderbolt 3) port if you need the bandwidth for external graphics or a port replicator or external SSD. The build of the laptop is what I'd consider midrange as well. The top of the laptop is metal, but all other portions are plastic. The ROG logo lights up red when the laptop is powered on and this color is not configurable, likewise the keyboard has a white backlight that is not configurable. This is slightly confusing as the laptop comes with the Asus Aura SYNC software but none of the lighting in the laptop can be changed, it simply allows you to control other Asus Aura SYNC devices from it. Seems pointless to me. In terms of bootup and initial usage, it has a pretty cool Asus ROG logo on-screen during boot however there is a sound that plays when it shows. I have not determined yet if there is a way to mute that sound, though I have to imagine there is. Once booted it was the standard Windows 10 setup process. The laptop itself has very very little in the way of bloatware installed, just a couple of Asus utilities, although the DropBox popup to sign up is a little annoying. As far as the capabilities are concerned it's a very capable laptop. When comparing to my previous gaming laptop which has an Intel i7-4710MQ and Geforce 970M, this soundly beats it. The Ryzen 7 3750H is a more powerful processor by about 5-10% (bearing in mind that the Ryzen 7 3750H is designed to compete with the midrange 7th and 8th gen Intel i5 processors) in 3DMark TimeSpy. The GTX 1660TI is dramatically more powerful than the 970M by a magnitude of as much as 70% in 3DMark Timespy. In playing Overwatch and Shadow of the Tomb Raider I had no issues running the games at max settings. The laptop has an installed 512GB Intel 660p PCI-E NVME SSD which is quick, but I feel undersized for the price of the laptop.especially since the Intel 660p NVME SSD is an extremely entry-level NVME drive, they could have easily selected the 1TB or 2TB, particularly since this is aimed at the gaming market and at 512GB you will run out of space very quickly since AAA Tier 1 games can easily push 50GB installed. The only other gripe I have aside from the few things I mentioned is that the Ryzen 7 3750H nomenclature is a bit misleading. Which while I understand that isn't Asus' fault, it's still confusing considering the first gen (en) Ryzen desktop chips are 1xxx, 2nd gen (Zen+) are numbered 2xxx, and 3rd gen (Zen2) chips are supposed to be labeled 3xxx, however this 3750H is a second gen (Zen+) part. Not real happy with AMD going that route with the naming of this line. All in all I very much enjoy the laptop, it's quick, quiet and more than capable to play most games at max settings. I can say I would easily recommend this to someone looking to get a very quick gaming laptop without spending an arm and a leg. Pros: Very capable in gaming, solid gaming graphics Solid mid-level processor performance 16GB of ram is excellent at this level 120Hz monitor Cons: Smallish NVME SSD Unconfigurable backlighting Mostly plastic construction

Great laptop and beginner gaming machine
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been a great laptop. I use it for a little bit of gaming and for graduate school. It has been great in both capacities except that it doesn't have a 10 key. But, I knew that when i purchased the laptop. It has performed great and have had 0 issues so far.
