Wonderful mid grade gaming laptop
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop won’t be running brand new games at 120fps, but it easily runs slightly older games at max at 120fps, notably Portal 2 runs smoother than I’ve ever seen it run, especially for a game that has so much momentum. Idle sounds are a bit odd, with the fans emitting a very high pitched electrical whine when on “silent”, but it’s only noticeable when the room is quiet. The speakers are very bass heavy when on lower volumes, but at around 40% it balances very well.

Great laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop during quarantine, and it's been working well, my only complaint is its not great at handling cpu heavy programs like photoshop, it lags and gets slow. Other than that, I'm 100% in love.

Great labtop for most computing needs.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great labtop for anything other than super high end graphic needs. Battery life is crap at around 2 hours but I knew that getting into it. Memory will be easy to expand when that need arises till then I got a cheap WD 2TB for general storage needs. If you need anything more than this computer then a tower is your best bet. At that point you can buy your individual components then pay the geek squad 200 bocks to put it all together for you and boot it up.

Good Looks Don't Make Up For Processor Bottlenecks
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On paper, this thing looks great and the price seems like you're getting away with a steal - however, this was Asus' only AMD-based system from the 2019 refresh of the Zephyrus line and based upon my short experience owning it, there's a reason. The Good: Small and light. Design is subtle enough to double as a work machine if you want to use it for that purpose; abundance of ports; solid keyboard; decent trackpad. Really solid 1080P performance on most recent AAA games. The Meh: Panel is "IPS-class" meaning that it's not a true IPS. Color reproduction isn't great, and it isn't very bright. Down-firing speakers are bass-heavy and muddy sounding; fans are LOUD. The Inexcusable: The Ryzen 7 3750 in this system seems poorly suited to use as the CPU in a gaming thin-and-light. Depending on the load, the machine will often jump straight to temps in the 70s, and the processor will throttle itself down to 400 mhz; updating the BIOS to the most current version (302) remedies the problem on wall power, but the system will still start to throttle regardless of load once the battery dips below 50 percent. The Bottom Line: Even if this problem isn't on every system, it was on the first system I purchased AND the second system I replaced it with. I ended up going with the more reliable (and more expensive) ROG Zephyrus M with the RTX 2060 and the I7 9750 - which has been a MUCH more reliable system.

Great laptop for small-time gamers.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was seeking out another gaming laptop after purchasing the Star Wars Edition Gaming Laptop, I came across the Rog Zephyrus. The Rog has been the smoothest gaming laptop that I’ve ever own, I don’t play many hardcore games but it runs The Sims smoothly on ultra. No issues with overheating, my only issue was that it wasn’t that much of space on my SSD but with the right knowledge, it’s upgradable so it won’t be any issue for anyone!

It's okay
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Specs for this laptop were okay for the price. I gave it three stars because the build seems pretty cheap for $1200. I was also told to replace the wifi card because it's spotty. I tried replacing it myself but I accidentally stripped the screw for the wifi card so I wasn't able to do that. The wifi does seem to not have a strong connection compared to other devices. After 1 year, somethings going on with the battery and it stays at 0%. I've tried restarting and looked online for solutions but nothing has seemed to work so far.

Not a fan.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Screen edge bleed in all corners. Cannot handle basic operation without ramping up to turbo fan speeds. Gaming is not really plausible due to heat, throttling and eventual shut down. Fans are disgusting sounding. They just grind and wobble and are never quiet even on "silent". *The fan noise may be due to damage as this came with a dented box corner and 1 screw cannot be removed from the case. I imagine the plastic holding the metal insert has snapped. The touchpad is oddly close to the edge of the unit with an ever odder bevel in the center. It is nearly impossible to operate comfortably. The audio jack is a cluster ____. You have to disable fastboot in bios to be able to just, you know, plug in external speakers. Plugin headphones? You have to answer a dialog box. Plug your speakers back in? Answer another dialog box. Don't want to be inconvenienced? Buy new gear that accommodates the port better. The main body is sturdy and strong but the monitor panel is kind of flexible. The intel drive is fast and gave no issues. Overall I am disappointed and will return asap.
