    This is a decent gaming laptop - I really like the choice of graphics card, as well as the SSD. The AMD Ryzen 7 surprised me with quite excellent performance in more demanding PC games like Madden 19, Battlefield V, and Battlefront 2 (the new one). The fan does get loud when playing a graphically intensive game, but that is what you expect with a gaming laptop. I rate this as a decent laptop primarily due to the screen - it seems a little washed out to me - I really wish they could have put a higher quality screen in this unit. Additionally, the battery life is not very good, but when gaming, you should have it plugged in to a charger anyway. Aside from gaming, performance for standard things (email, web, social media) is fantastic, as should be expected. All in all, a good gaming laptop. I would recommend it over similarly priced (or cheaper) competition.

    Loved this laptop for the first month. Shortly after the 30 day mark, the battery completely died. It’s unable to take a charge. I was on the phone with ASUS customer support for an hour, no fix could be made. It’s currently a really heavy paperweight, as I wait to hear back from Best Buy.

    So let me start by saying I have owned 2 different asus gaming laptops, and just about every component they manufacture for desktops. Ive been a fan of Asus for years and have always preferred them over other brands. But this laptop is a joke. Ive tried everything to get it to run smooth but it does nothing but lag in every game I play even at the lowest possible graphics settings. I cant play world of warcraft, squad, player unknowns battle grounds or anything without the CPU overheating and the frame rates dropping. Ive already exchanged it once because of a cooling fan making a god awful loud grinding noise. The day I get the new one home it does the exact same thing. Im very disappointed, on paper this is well geared and good looking machine. Looks like I will be returning this to get my money back.

    I've testing this computer for the last few days and I'm surprisingly extremely disappointed it the performance of this laptop. I've ran a few of my games that I play on a daily bases and they run quite poorly. One game I tried was 7 Days to Die at medium settings and I was getting 35-40 FPS which isn't too bad, but it could be better. Another game that I tested it on was VRChat and it was beyond poor cause I would go from 90 FPS to 20 FPS out of nowhere and it would do that constantly even when I was in a world all by myself. I will admit the second game does have fps issues at times even on my main gaming rig, but not this bad. I will sadly be returning this laptop and possibly be waiting until another one of the ASUS models comes out that will have better specs than this one and hopefully this next one will be better.

    It's absolutely horrible. So for one example, overwatch at 1080 low as possible settings and frame rate capped at 60 fps. This thing will run fine for all of about a minute then drop to 7 fps then jump to 60 then drop to 7 over and over again. Makes games completely unplayable. This is with the computer settings on turbo and the fans set to 100%. All drivers and software are up to date. I'll be returning it tomorrow.

    fast, great design, bad speaker!!!!!! okay keyboard!!! however, when it comes to gaming, I tried to do whatever I can to fix the drop in fps from 150 fps to 20 fps , ghosting in games but failed!!

    Got this for my son. The fan was constantly running and was very loud. He said it was over heating and would ruin the system if he kept using it. So we had it for 7 days and took it back. He couldn’t find another at Best Buy that he really liked. This was the first time I returned something and didn’t just replace it with something else from the same store. Love Best Buy but this product wasn’t good.

    I purchased 2 and had to return both. When you game on them for more than an hour the fans start to sound like jet airplanes. If you keep going then the computer freezes up and you have to restart it.

    I was not impressed with this Asus laptop although i feel it was not Asus fault more the AMD Ryzen 7 with 1660 max Q was the problem as i love all ASUS products. This laptop was just slow comparered to my i7s with the 1660 GPU.

    works, but runs hot and jitters in games

    It works, but in most games it seems to have jitters. tried updating various drivers, flashing the bios, reloading a clean OS. temps pushing 85-90c range cpu People on forums seem to have it be a manufacturing issue with ~some~ of them.

    I'm really disappointed with this laptop. For some unknown reason it keeps deleting some of my applications and I have to constantly reinstall then which prevents me from doing the things I want to do with it. I have checked for solutions made sure I have enough storage and even bought an external drive to be on the safe side. None of it seems to work. I have had to delete and restart my computer 3 times now and I am tired of it. I don't think I can return it now so I'm stuck with a 1400 useless piece of junk. Steer clear of this item

    This laptop itself is fine, but make sure you buy it brand new. My brother has a brand new one he got about 2 years ago and he has had no problems with it. However, I bought it used at Best Buy and the laptop came completely broken. It started up and I set up my windows, but then it wouldn't load anything and eventually just stopped working. It is to the point that it is unsellable by Best Buy. They should have never sold this product in the first place if it was so broken. Overall, if you decide to buy this laptop buy it brand new, never used from Best Buy.

    I purchased this laptop a few months ago and just now got to have time to be able to use it. Let me start off by saying , I 100% regret buying this laptop, do not buy this model, I should've know better and purchased an Intel model, but now its too late to exchange and I'm stuck with a laptop that CANNOT RUN A SINGLE GAME without constant STUTTERS. I've tried EVERYTHING from upgrading the BIOS to driver updates/downgrades, and nothing seems to fix this issue. This might be my last Asus purchase Tbh. Coming from a long time supporter who uses ASUS in a lot of Pc builds.

    CPU throttling runs at .39GHz

    I would give this 0 stars if I could. I bought this laptop as Open Box - Excellent. First time use was extremely slow. I tried resetting the operating system but the CPU speed would drop down to .39GHz within minutes of booting up. I tried some troubleshooting but gave up after a few hours. This seems to be a problem with ASUS and how it’s hardware runs with the AMD chip but the fact that Best Buy would accept this as a return and try to resell it is extremely frustrating. This has really eroded my confidence in products purchased from Best Buy.
