This notebook has been performing very well. Build quality is very good. Outside of lid is metal, which gives it good rigidity. Lid can be opened without having to hold the base of the notebook down. Sound quality of the build in speakers is surprisingly good. Best I've ever heard on a notebook. Everyday computing is solid and fast. Gaming performance is better then I expected, Important to note is that in order to safe battery, the notebook will use the processors integrated graphics rather then dedicated GTX 1660ti. For top gaming performance the notebook needs to be plugged in. I'm mostly playing Quake Champions and at medium settings get 80-120FPS depending on map. When the dedicated graphics card is running hard the cooling fans go into overdrive, get noise (headphones recommended) and there is a lot of heat blown out the right side of the case. Nice hand warmer if you have your mouse close. Overall solid performer and very happy with this purchase.

I do not have the space to have a full setup so I decided to invest in a gaming laptop. This has not disappointed me. It is quick and runs everything perfectly. The size is not great but I can be upgraded. I did have issues with connecting audio so I was frustrated with that. The fans can get loud but I have never really been bothered by it. Just a disclaimer that this laptop does not have a webcam so do not expect it to have one.

I thought this was a well-speced unit but I assumed all modern laptops have a webcam and I was wrong on that (my own fault) so I was not able to use this for zoom calls which was one of the purposes I had purchased a laptop for. Even my daughter's $300 chromebook has a webcam! So keep that in mind. I also used this for normal browsing (works fine) and gaming on STEAM. I don't play FPS/ fast-paced games and for the type of games I played, this ran fine. It does get hot and starts making a lot of fan noise but perhaps that is to be expected when playing games. The construction itself does not feel very high end. It feels like 'cheap plastic'. This is a tradeoff I think that is probably worth it for the Geforce graphics card, 16GB RAM, and 512GB SSD. The material catches every single fingerprint, so I covered the screen back and palm rests with a clear removable plastic wrap. The screen is just okay. It is a matte screen and isn't particularly sharp or impressive. Again, this is a tradeoff for the guts, and you should expect tradeoffs for a gaming machine under $1K. The one thing that annoyed me a lot was that the trackpad kept messing up my typing. It is very hard to type on this without touching the touchpad. I wish there was a lenovo-style button in the keyboard so I can turn off the touchpad. I turned down the sensitivity to the lowest setting and while it helped somewhat, it is still relatively often that I am typing an email and the cursor jumps somewhere else and messes the email up. Overall I think this is alright and relatively good value for the price. If you are on a budget and want to game, this isn't bad at all. I want to give it more time before I have a final verdict.

I would recommend this to anyone on a tight budget or who absolutely needs a 15.6" screen. Pros: ASUS builds decent gaming systems as reflected in the solid feel and heft of this laptop. The display is really nice to look at, and once you go synced GPU/LCD, you'll never go back. Boot-up speed is acceptable and the native AMD utilities are fairley intuitive. Plenty of ports and responsiveness of the keyboard is surprisingly good! Cons: In terms of speed, it's definitely a step-down from desktops gaming systems, even older ones, so if you're hoping to get a boost in speed do more research. Laptop GPUs of the same model are typically 20-30% than their desktop counterparts. For example, APEX Legends wouldn't run smoothly on default graphics settings, and older versions of Call of Duty ran just okay. However, for newer games be prepared to dial-back your graphics settings. The keyboard is only backlit in white, so look elsewhere for if you want a RGB model. Like all gaming laptops, it blows a ton of heat out the back when gaming and fan noise becomes very audible; that said, it's dead silent when not gaming and will outperform most productivity laptops. Overall: I bought it both for both productivity/work stuff and gaming, but ultimately returned it because the slower gaming performance wasn't worth the price. YMMV so don't be afraid to give it a whirl.

This laptop is very responsive and fast. Graphics are good and screen is a good size and very clear. However, I am disappointed in the battery life. Just browsing and checking email the battery will last about 3 1/2 hours. But playing a simple game like a hidden object game, battery dies after about 1 1/2 hours. You would have to have it plugged in to play any fast paced games. All in all it is a very good laptop. I still prefer my desktop to play games.

Overall it’s a good laptop, The fan can get a little loud at times but it’s not a big issue. One big plus is that there’s no webcam which was always a useless feature for most laptops tbh. Haven’t tested games on it yet but I’m sure it’ll definitely handle it well.

I was fortunate to buy this on sale. I exchanged asus G531GT for this laptop. The sound is much better and I play Madden 20, Steep, and Snow. the graphics are noticeably smother than the 531GT. Probably the 120hz refresh display .Also I average about 5 fps better on the forementioned games. The fan does come on more on this device but I dont hear it while playing anyway. Ilove this machine. The only thing I wish for in this price range was that I could use the USB type C port for charging the laptop. No biggy - oh the Battery life is about 6 hours playing steep. I was lucky to get 2 on the 531gt although I havent played with preformance settings on either device .

The laptop is decent for gaming obviously and other stuff; the speakers aren't the best, but they do the job. Keep in mind that it does get heated if its very high graphic games! Other simple games won't make it too hot also, I would suggest removing two specific parts that are blocking the fan's search up a video about it. Trust me; it will help it cool down better!

Amazing laptop. Very thin, great graphics, but does ramp up fans like a jet engine. But at least it doesn't weigh a ton and it doesn't run fans all the time. Even the 2020 releases make me want to upgrade.

The Zephyrus series is a must have for anyone looking to take their mobile gaming to the next level. With a powerful 2nd Gen Ryzen 7 Processor, 16GB RAM, and a GTX 1660 Ti Max-Q....this baby can crank out all the power you need to run the latest games, and then some when you overclock it. The build feels sleek and smooth yet solid and sports a modest keyboard backight. My only complaint is a lack of cooling around the palm rests which increases thermal conductivity in the areas below the keyboard, but it's a laptop, so this is relatively normal; but the powerful fan help dissipate the thermal buildup. Aside from that, I would highly recommend this product to my fellow gamers, especially if yoou can get it on sale! Happy gaming, and enjoy your new ASUS Zephyrus!

Alright, so, this is not my first gaming laptop, but definitely my first of this tier and performance. I sometimes play a game for upwards to 8-16 hours straight (Small break given of course) with no issue what so ever with that laptop. Of course, like all laptops, the keys get a little hot in some places when playing for extended durations of time, however, I have yet to know of a gaming laptop that does not do this. All in all, this laptop plays all my games on high to epic settings and has never let me down. P.S. Don't try to unplug it and pick it up mid game, something about the Asus software makes it run on lower frame rates unplugged and it kinda freaks out a little until you shut it down and let it sit for 30 seconds if you attempt to do this.

There is so much to be hopeful about this laptop. The price is incredible. Getting a 1660ti, which is an older model, but still powerful, a 512gb SSD s Ryzen laptop and 16GB of ram is a good bit of kit. But Asus really let the ball drop on some of the basics. Let’s start with the most egregious issue, the WiFi card. sure it’s an AC card, but at 1x1 it’s really hard to keep a good signal. In my mesh network the laptop performs 80% slower than other machines in the same locations. Then let’s talk about the screen...it’s washed out not crisp at all. The keyboard and trackpad are just ok... the keys feel mushy, the trackpad is just passable. Finally, with a dual video card system, you need to have some system smarts that determine which card to use, the integrated or the discrete. Now...all theses are fixable. For the WiFi I got an external WiFi card, for the keyboard, mouse and screen I use externals. And regarding the video card, I just went into settings and deactivated the internal graphics card. All of that said, it’s a $1,000 laptop! It’s fast enough, there’s enough workarounds, if you want them, to make it to fix my little niggles. Anyway, I’d buy it again if it went on sale.

This laptop is great. Performs well for productivity suites and just as well in gaming, when you're plugged in. There is a ton of throttling when your on battery power which is understandable. The laptop also gets pretty loud due to all the cooling and fans, but the speakers are even louder and more clear. For just about $1000 your getting a fantastic product.

What a great laptop for the money. Asus really didnt cut any corners on this guy as a daily driver for my work and personal use, mostly gaming on the personal side. The Ryzen 7 processor is snappy and paired with the 1660TI it runs most of my games at max settings (Witcher 3, Overwatch, etc.). If I had one gripe with it that would definitely be the display. It's a 1080p display that runs at 120hz. It is silky smooth while gaming and have no complaints there. Where it suffers is the color accuracy, which is definitely something to keep in mind if you are also a graphic design professional.

This is a great laptop to run design programs on. I would say that the battery is not as long-lasting as they say it is, but you can put it into battery-saver mode and it helps give you at least an extra hour. There is also no webcam, which I knew coming in but is good to know for anyone planning to buy this laptop. I would definitely recommend it.

It thermal throttles just like the HP Pavilion laptop I had. Although the performance is extremely great I've gotten 120+ fps in competitive shooters which matches the refresh rate of the screen and 1080p 60fps in all my favorite games. Would recommend but it gets extremely hot so if recommend also getting a cooling pad

I really wanted to keep this laptop but I will return it for the following reasons: 1- The screen's bazel is attached with a double side tape. If I apply some pressure at the top center or at the right corner of the screen, I can hear a sticky sound. 2- When I close the computer lid, there is some pressure at the bottom of screen that make the crystals change their colors and this in the long run will damage the screen. You can try it yourself. Set your background with a black image and set the screen's brightness to max and slowly close the computer lid. 3- The Intel SSD is nothing spacial and in some cases, is not fast enough to keep up with the entire system. Did I just get unlucky? I hope so... Because I do really love this laptop. Please let me know guys/ladies if you have the same issues that I had with the screen.
