This is one awesome gaming laptop, ASUS really stepped up with this build and it's on par with its competitors i.e. Alienware or the Legion series. For starters the 1TB internal storage will allow you to save a ton of games and they decided to go with SSD storage which is a great choice, especially since its an improvement from the old HDD standard. The 16GB RAM and powerful processor means that this laptop will be able to handle almost any game you run on it. My favorite spec is the GPU, using a 2060 NVIDIA RTX means that this laptop will support and run the most demanding games looking crisp and smooth. As someone who was previously running a laptop with a 1060RTX, this is such a huge leap forward and I love it. I tested this out by running a couple of games on my steam account: Halo MCC ran perfectly at 1080p and finally getting to see it play at 60FPS was a dream come true, Fallout: New Vegas with a bunch of HD texture mods ran smoothly, PUBG on Ultra High, and a Golden Eye 1080HD rom. All these games ran perfectly and looked amazing something I never thought I would ever see from a laptop. Honestly I love this laptop, and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a great Gaming laptop, not a good one or a so-so one, but a great one. As someone that likes to relax by gaming during lunch breaks or in between classes I'm really happy with this laptop.

I have had this laptop since 2021 and used it throughout college. I am an interior designer and this laptop runs my demanding programs decently. I use sketchup, autocad, and revit almost daily. Sketchup runs smooth until your model starts getting larger and with lots of components. One of my main issues is whenever I am using my Ipad next to my laptop, it will randomly shut off if they touch, which I assume is due to the magnetic properties of the Ipad. I do think I expected this laptop to be more powerful, but overall it gets the job done! This computer runs games incredibly smooth, I have had absolutely NO issues with games such as Sims 4, Valorant, COD, Minecraft(even with some smaller mods!).

Fast and powerful. Brute force to achieve it's goals. Noisy as all get-out because of the fan. Old school. Can handle anything thrown at it.

I bought this when it was first released in the Spring of 2020, and it worked really well for a couple of years. I was extremely satisfied! Until I noticed the battery life was only reaching 5 hours maximum, when 10 hours was promised. Something was drawing too much power, and it heated the laptop up quite a bit. I went to Bestbuy under warranty, and all they did was replace the battery, which did not fix the problem. Other than that, it worked really well.

Hard drive crapped out in 1-year of very light use.

This laptop is a nice computer overall that is very slim and fairly powerful. This has a faster CPU, better screen, nicer GPU and better sound than you would normally expect to find in a computer this small and thin at this price point. I loaded a few different steam games to the laptop and it seamed to handle everything just fine. The picture was always nice and crisp without any lags or artifacts. The hard drive is nice and big and the charge seems to last for a good long time. The design is also very sleek and stylish, and my wife likes that it comes in white. I was actually the most surprised by the built-in sound system. This thing is better than most of the cheapo speakers I usually plug into a computer to use when I’m not on a headset. While this is a good computer overall, there were a number of things that annoyed me. This is listed as a gaming computer and so they decided that gives them a license to throw on as much bloatware and ad caring software designed to be appealing to “gamers”. I’ve started going through the computer to take stuff off, but its hard to know what I can delete without causing issues and what I have to keep. I still have a bit of trial and error to go to figure it all out and clean this off. There is also a dedicated button that links to one of the gaming specific programs. I’m not sure I’ll actually use it that much, so it’s a bit irritating and I haven’t found yet where I can hopefully remap that button to something more useful. This is kinda par for the course with any laptop now days so I'm not taking a star off for this, but its irritating enough that I almost did. They also made a few interesting choices with the design of the laptop. It’s a gaming laptop, so I guess they assume it will be used mostly with gaming accessories. The trackpad could never be used at any serious gaming application, and the non-button pad makes it even harder to get precise button pushing if you needed it for a game. The keyboard is also necessarily small for the form factor of the laptop. So if you have any serious gaming you’d need a separate keyboard. The screen is nice but again small and it does include a mic even though it does not have a webcam. Some of these handicaps are a bit unavoidable due to the size of the laptop. However, in trying to make it a gaming laptop they forced as much of the high-end features as they could in, but did so at the price of certain productivity features like a webcam. The result is a gaming laptop that needs a lot of accessories to really be able to game, or a laptop intended for only lighter gaming and so has hardware that is a bit of overkill while dropping the productivity features that would let this be a good all-around computer. Now this is an irritation for me, but maybe for some parents out there this is a bonus so they can make sure their kids have what they need to game, but aren't going to have to worry about someone hacking their kid's webcam or the more rebellious teens using the computer for less savory activities. While I do like this computer, to really get the full value you will need to have all your accessories set up to be able to do what you’d like. This makes it a decent brain for your gaming set-up at a reasonable price, then you have the added ability to take it with you if you wanted to play a bit while on the road. I still need to get a dock to see if this would help make the whole set up better and easier to switch between gaming and traveling modes.

“120 hz” screen is terrible for gaming............

So this laptop is amazing if I’m being honest. Like any other gaming laptop it gets hot, but a little too fast for my preference. For this price you might as well buy and build your own PC. BUT, if you want something to take for travel purposes, this one is super convenient and efficient. 9/10.

Amazing laptop with great performance and portability. You are getting a lot for such a great price and a 2060 is powerful enough to play most games fine. The only thing I kinda dislike is there is no webcam so for school you may want to purchase a webcam for it. Then its a great school and gaming laptop.

I think the best units are after March, mine was June. After bios update? It fixes the main display issue going dark so far I have experienced no problems with my laptop tho its still new the battery lasted some good hours tho not exactly 9+ yet but messing with settings I am sure I can get it, playing prey even metro exodus with raytracing on it works well with little lag due to tracing on, I experienced no problems playing games with the response time being high.... overall this is a beast of a laptop and well worth the money and will update if possible if something goes wrong

This laptop runs really well and is nicely built for the price, but you really need to be computer saavy to get this running perfectly. Out of the box the laptop crashed several times and had several pop ups at start-up. It wasn't until I dug into the setting and manually updated every component that it started running as well as it does. Dell's have built in programs that will update drivers, bios, etc. Asus also as has a bunch of preinstalled programs, but they don't do much. If you have all this extra bloat, they should have some sort of function/value. I'm happy with my purchase because im computer literate, but for those that just want something to run well out of the box, know that you'll have to put in some work.

Normally a big Razer fan but this machine is superior in performance in this form factor. AMD crushes it. It’s just mind blowingly fast for a CPU and solid GPU. Totally worth the purchase.

Best portable gaming laptop in 2020. I think that says it all. The SSD and 16GB RAM are perfect for silky smooth experience. Very silent laptop so no fan sounds or anything. Would recommend 100 percent if you are okay with no webcam.

Great pc for gaming and light. The lacking videocamera was almost a dealbreaker for me.

Great laptop when purchased, was able to run Cyberpunk2077 at launch with relatively few issues. Battery life was great after making tweaks to cpu boost and setting more aggressive fan profile to keep it cool

I just got this after Christmas, and I finally have a laptop that can handle multi-tasking well. The speed is great and CPU is sufficient for everything from professional tasks to running Tabletop Simulator and Discord with other programs simultaneously. You will probably need a few extras after buying this, including a USB keypad, a USB multi-port, and a webcam (yeah, it doesn't have one). I was joining a zoom meeting and it said "no camera detected". I assumed they all had them now, but the one I purchased was only $30, so no big deal. That was initially an unpleasant surprise, but I am quite happy with this computer and would recommend it.

Amazing laptop! I've been using it since 2020! and it is still amazing! for school and gaming! whatever you throw to this laptop it will take it!
