Buy beware!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You cannot buy extended warranty from ASUS if you buy a Best Buy unit!!! If you don’t buy the extended warranty at time of purchase, you only have 15 days to do so!!! Please keep that in mind! The laptop is gorgeous, light weight, and powerful. It can run really hot so don’t play games on your lap. It can only run at full power of the graphics card when it is plugged in. If on battery, it will get 1/2 the power. The battery life ranges from 8-10 hrs on light work. AMD and ASUS needs to push updates and drivers! There are so many issues at launch that users have to find work around. It is a great laptop if you can afford it.

Great gaming laptop with awful keyboard backlight
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome laptop specs for the price but the keyboard backlight is truly atrocious. I've never seen a backlight that actually makes the keyboard worse, but here it is. The Asus software is okay and it doesn't include a bunch of bloatware to slow the system down. The Nvidia GPU does a great job but you should use the left USB-C port if you run it out to a monitor. The HDMI port is run by the built in graphics and I had some issues using both the USB-C port and HDMI at the same time. Overall I love the size, price, and performance but it's definitely not a desktop replacement - too many issues.

Nice performance for your money
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After owning this computer for almost 2 months now. I feel confident to say that it is a very capable machine with nice performance no issues a at 1200 dollars nice bang for your buck. The fan noice is not as bad as other people say. I use it mostly to play games, some web browsing and watching movies. When watching movies the battery last a lot. Playing modern warfare 2019 at 1440p I'm getting more than 60 fps. I play on an external monitor so I locked my fps at 60 because that is the refresh rate of my monitor. The gpu temperature stays at around 70 degrees. Overall I'm very happy with this pc.

The ASUS Gaming/Programming/Creative Monster...
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 is a super slim and crazy powerful gaming laptop with no compromises made on quality. I researched Gaming/Programming laptops for a few weeks and everything was narrowed down to this stunning laptop. This is one of the best Gaming/Creative laptops currently on the market with excellent performance, high quality build, great audio and wonderful battery life. If you are in the market for a gaming laptop that delivers stunning performance then this is the choice for you. Even a friend on mine who owns Apple laptops/desktops and he was stunned at how this out-performs his $4000+ computers.

solid stuff from asus
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.pretty good laptop! served all my needs as a creator. swapped out the 8gb stick for 16gb for a total of 24gb. helped a lot when having tons of browser tabs + adobe open. looking to buy the next gen model. only drawback is battery life but that is expected with high power machines

I wanted this to be the one
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On paper, the Zephyrus G14 has everything going for it. Great specs, slick design, a small form factor, and a high refresh rate screen, all for a reasonable price. However, the problems start to pop up when you actually use the laptop. For starters, the fans in the G14 run constantly, every single second while the laptop is on. It doesn’t matter what power mode you’re in, or what you’re doing with it. You could be idling on the Windows desktop in silent mode and the fans are still very audible. Is it incredibly loud? No, as long as you’re not doing anything intensive. But if you were to bring it into a fairly quiet classroom, most of the room would likely hear your laptop running even if it were doing nothing. Not ideal at all. Second issue comes with the screen. While the 120Hz refresh rate sounds amazing, the display’s response time is awful. This means that despite the display indeed having a high refresh rate, you get almost none of the advantages, as you will still see noticeable blur on moving objects. Not the end of the world, and the display still looks good on the whole, but still a disappointment. Lastly, there are several details Asus missed the mark on. The lack of a webcam, particularly now in 2020, is a huge downside. The keyboard backlighting is genuinely terrible and probably the worst I’ve ever seen on any laptop. And Asus’s proprietary software preloaded onto the laptop is a confusing mess and starts to feel more like bloatware than anything. Overall, while I did like the laptop, I ended up returning it. The fans always being on and audible are what really tipped me over the edge, as my unit in particular had a whistle sound while the fans were running at low speed, making it incredibly annoying to use. The G14 seemed like my dream laptop, and I really wanted to like it. But Asus just misses the mark in too many areas.

Awesome Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just an average user, I am an architecture student at the U of A, I play video-games, and this laptop has been great to me so far. Digital modeling and graphics performance has been great, and it's simply just a beautiful laptop. Apparently the white variant is girly, however it does not bother me at all. Very clean and solid milled construction, no loose parts from what I have experienced so far. First time buying a high-end laptop, and AMD has made it a significantly cheaper experience than it would have been through intel! No webcam but just buy a better one online with the money you saved!

Great Power, Small Machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wonderful device for people looking to get an all-around powerhouse computer. There isn't anything I can't run on this laptop, and I love that it is small enough for me to travel with. The only complaint I have is the backlighting on the keyboard, which is in all honesty terrible. But, for $1500 this laptop is still a steal for the performance you get.

Almost perfect laptop
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good Laptop, The processor is the new gold standard for gaming speed. The 2060 is a little bit on the light side, but it gets over 100 fps in most AAA with adjusted settings. Battery life is out of this world for a gaming laptop.. with tweaks 10 hours or so on normal tasks. No webcam stinks. I don't think i'd actually use it, but its a bummer. There is also some claimed ghosting. and it is not very noticeable. I am a competitive FPS player and this does it in a pinch, but I wouldn't want to game on this as my main platform on the laptop screen only.

Fantastic all around computer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the keyboard. -I'd put it within spitting distance of thinkpad keyboards. love the performance. -can play Ark on high at 60 fps love the screen. -gorgeous colors, matte screen love the battery life. -got about 10 hours just piddling about on the net and watching stuff. love having a laptop as powerful than most folks' desktops. usb C charging, doesnt pull enough to play heavy games, but if you're working on say a plane or in a park and need to charge it that way it's great and handy. my only real complaint is the lack of a webcam, for thinks like interviews it's good to have one.

Excellent Product, Great Price!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an amazingly powerful machine for a bargain of a price. The performance is top-notch and compacted into a small, light frame that is put together well. I prefer to use a quality fan with my machine especially when gaming. But the internal cooling system is robust (although loud). The overall design of the case is also pleasing, the display is great, there are enough ports, and of course the specs are top tier. You cannot compete with the Ryzen 9 and Nvidia RTX 2060-Q at this price range. The 1tb SSD is icing on the cake. Would recommend to any gamer who enjoys portability.

High end work/gaming laptop-needs tech know-how
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought as a gift for a developer/gamer. It has everything you want for a high spec laptop, more than enough cpu/gpu power for demanding applications. Only negative comments i've received are thermals need to be controlled with fan curve adjustments otherwise it sounds like a 737 taking off all the time. Searching forums for additional hardware setting tweaks for its most optimal use are also suggested. End of the day, need a powerful laptop, this will fit the bill. If you are not quite tech savy with your hardware, or willing to look for information, may want to look elsewhere.

Nice and toasty :)
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reading many many reviews of this computer, and wanting to stepdown to a smaller screen / portability, I went ahead and got this. I am using it as a multipurpose computer for general browsing, office work, some 3d/video stuff, and gaming. It's working out real well so far. One negative is when gaming it does get pretty hot, but my HWMonitor shows it to be at or below the acceptable range. If I was gaming many hours a day, I might be concerned because the higher heat will shorten the lifespan of the CPU. Overall a good 14" computer

Video Production Workhorse
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is fantastic. Bought it less than a week ago and today was able to show up on a shoot, capture footage for a music video, import multiple tracks, edit inside HitFilm, and deliver the final MP4 along with some promotion stills all by 6PM. The client was ecstatic about both the final product and the quick on site turn around, and I've already secured another production with them for next Friday. The laptop paid for itself today, the next gig is all profit. That's about the best review a professional piece of equipment can receive. It really handles 4k video production like a boss; it, really, really does. If you're into photography, stills or video, this laptop is a God send. It's portability, power, and value proposition is unmatched at this time as far as I can tell. Asus, AMD, and Nvidia knocked this product out of the park, and today it knocked my product out of the park. It really is a game changer for this motorcycle riding photographer. It usually takes me a little while to warm up to a new piece of equipment, but I already love it and look forward to producing with it in the years to come.

Beast of a computer in a small package
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Magnificent combination of Ryzen 9 with superb multicore performance and RTX2060 MaxQ. I cannot believe something this powerful can be this small. Given the size it has excellent thermal performance which can be easily controlled with the specialized ROG button. Excellent keyboard as well. Queen's Gambit fans can download Stockfish and LC0 and have the latest neural network chess engines that perform superbly on this beast of a computer.

Great Machine - Fast and Powerful
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have purchased a LOT of laptops in my life. This one is one of the best. I recently sold my 2019 Razer Blade Stealth and the only thing I miss is the excellent backlight on the keyboard. The keys are dim and I don't think there is much they will be able to do about it. The keyboard and trackpad are excellent though. I took the time to do all the updates before spending any time surfing or playing games. Do yourself a favor and complete all the updates first, Windows, ASUS, Armoury Crate, Bios.... It takes a good hour or more to get the updates done, but that's any laptop you buy these days. I haven't experienced any screen flicker and it's been really quiet on silent mode even though I can tell the fans are spinning. Also, the fingerprint sensor is super finicky. When it works it is great. I going to say that it works about 47% of the time so far. That's my experience in the first 5 or so hours. There is a pretty interesting feature that lets you use your Android Phone as an extra screen either mirriored or extended. I may be able to get some use out of that....or it could be a gimmick... time will tell. I am far from being disappointed so far.

Great lightweight laptop that does everything
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is great from performance standpoint. AMD Ryzen + Nvidia is a nice combo to have. You can play most (all) modern games without a problem. One minor issue is that it does get warm and noisy when you play games at the highest settings. We were thinking about getting Mac laptop but this one is more suited for somebody who is a student and a gamer. It does not have a web cam. Not sure if this matters much given that everybody has 3-4 webcams in their pockets (smartphones) but this is something to be aware of.
