Best Gaming Laptop Especially for the Price
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disclaimer: Got it discounted with my Best Buy birthday coupon. This laptop is amazing, it really puts other laptops to shame considering you can have an 8-core processer, 1-TB SDD, 16-GB RAM, and a good graphics card for under $1500 when there are some brands still trying to sell Quad-Core laptops with less RAM and Storage for close to $2000 with the same, worse, or no graphics card options. Build quality and cooling are excellent, gets great performance without going into hair-dryer like sound levels.

Gaming and Image/Video Processing Powerhouse
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I cannot get over how amazing this computer is. It's compact, light (but sturdy) and an absolutel powerhouse! The fans can get loud, but that is expected with the hardware that's running inside this thing. If you disable boost you'll lower the Temps by ~20 degrees while not losing any significant performance. I do both heavy gaming and image/video processing. This machine can do it all while powering a ton of peripherals. If you're looking into this computer, you know what you're searching for and you've found it!

Returned after 2 weeks.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After owning this laptop for a little over two weeks and debating on whether to keep it or not, I plan on returning it. The quality should be MUCH better for a laptop that costs $1500 after taxes. 1. The G14's backlit keyboard is not good. The feature is not effective at all unless you're in a pitch black room. Should be much better for a laptop at this price point. 2. The fans are active 98% of the time, even if you're simply browsing the web. I tweaked many of the settings on the laptop but it seemed like the fans wanted to run constantly. Sometimes they were quiet, other times the fans were blasting. 3. Laptop runs hot. Even after disabling the boost setting that raises the CPU temp, I was still hitting very high temperatures in games which was concerning. 4. No webcam. Major issue if you are in school or have a job that requires one. If you're only using this for gaming purposes and don't mind loud fans or care about the backlit keyboard, you'll be happy with the laptop. If you're somebody who plans on using the laptop for gaming + work / school, you'd be better off with something else.

Great! For the most part
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a great laptop, and an okay gaming laptop. I feel like that's the best you can get when trying to cram so much power in something so small. It does great, I can get a solid 100 fps when playing something like fortnite. But it gets so hot that I can barely use the keyboard. The external design is excellent, very solid. I can hold it from one corner and not hear or feel anything moving from the strain. The weight is also very well proportioned. I will be keeping it, great work asus.

Great laptop so far
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my first Asus laptop purchased from Best Buy to be used as an everyday portable computer. It is not too heavy and is lightning fast. The battery life is on par with if not better than my macbook pro. I can easily surf the web and write emails all day on a single charge. The only issue that I have with this is the fan noise, the fan never seems to stop. I have tried manipulating the fan option using the Asus tools provided and can kill the fan noise but then I get worried that the heat build up may harm the processor and so I have switched it back to normal.

Classy looking laptop with power under the hood
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s so lightweight that I forget it’s in the backpack sometimes. The machine works perfectly when playing and streaming overwatch at the same time. I now have it loaded with games and they all look great on its screen. The only reason I don’t give 5 stars is due to the very dim keyboard backlight. No biggie tho....I have a desktop PC with better graphics card and other components, however this thing is still capable of pumping out great visuals and speedy task delivery.

Great gaming in a small package
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop specifically to run Microsoft Flight Simulator. It fulfills that task admirably, although the case gets pretty warm after putting the GPU through its paces with high-end graphics. The machine is lightning quick for 'normal' computing, and has no problem driving my HDTV when I want to game on the big screen. Battery life is surprisingly good and there are a number of presets to pick from for configuration. Really glad I bought it, and I'm looking forward to many years of 'Flight'

Amazing and durable!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the best laptop I’ve ever had. I purchased it during the pandemic and it still runs perfectly fine, is as good as new. Asus didn’t disappoint. Great device for the price

Portable computer amazing specs!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was looking at different gaming laptops to buy. I fell in love with this one . I know AMD laptop processors are king right now and I couldn’t say no to it . It’s very fast and portable it’s my daily driver for school work as well as the hardcore gaming I like to do. It is a bit loud but nothing that a pair of headphones will fix . Also it gets a little hot while gaming so I bought a cooling pad to keep it fresh ! Honestly wouldn’t want to buy a different laptop. Love the white color as well !

Beast!!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very well built Machine. I have tried tons of Laptops. And Finally it fits my need of having very compact, portable and powerful machine. And If need larger screen at work or Home, connect to Monitor. The Machine is cool to touch. And Can be cooled down by doing some Regedit tweaks. Cons:- Well There are two cons which are not dealbreaker for me. 1. Keyboard lighting is poor however, It is fine. 2. Screen response time is noticeble sometimes, however freesync will compensate it.

Great Performance Glaring Problem
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am going to preface this by saying this laptop is was great. The gaming performance and everything was on point and for its price, I would recommend it and hope that whoever I recommend it too doesn't get the many defects that it can have. Some defects include: - Screen that blacks out (don't have that one) - Screen that flickers (don't have that one) - Laptop that overheats when it is TURNED OFF I have had this for two days and this has started happening. My laptop will overheat to the point where it hurts to touch in some areas and it is so annoying to have to go through ASUS's crappy customer service. (Though some are great like the guy I most recently talked to. Super nice, supportive, and actually informative) and now I have to go through Best Buys crappy customer service great. Another problem I have is silent mode is supposed to be silent. The laptop will be as lound as 35 - 40 decibles and I have had this for 2 days so no dust in the fans. Now that I have that all out of the way I will say this though. The laptop feels great to use and everything. The screen (mine at least) is amazing. Performance is amazing.

Posted .Dear JustYourAverageLaptopUser,
I'm sorry to hear that you are having overheating and fan noise problems with your machine. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control, testing and inspections. What you've experienced was not intentional or representative of our brand. Silent mode should not rise above 25Db, it sounds like you might have a fault fan. I understand that you are in contact with Best Buy customer service, but can you please send me your serial number? I'd like to investigate the fan noise and overheating issue in more detail. Please reach out to me at [email protected] and include case #N200537208 in your email for reference.
Thank you for choosing ASUS!

One of best light weight gaming laptops ever!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. An excellent gaming laptop - probably one of the best regarding price/performance/weight for this year. Keyboard lighting is a concern based on reviews but I am ok with this. Definitely generates heat when playing high end games but not surprising. Keyboard is excellent although does get slightly warm while gaming. No webcam may be considered show-stopper for some. Wish the USB ports were closer to the back of the laptop to reduce cable clutter on the sides of the laptop

Great overall laptop for any challenges
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop that is good for gaming and for sure school work. The battery on this can hit around 10 hours at idle which is really good for a gaming computer. The fan is quiet during regular use, but can get noticeably louder when gaming (can be adjusted with programs). The laptop does lack a webcam which can be quickly solved by buying a 3rd party webcam. The fingerprint scanner is a hit or miss, but not really a big issue. The laptop is very slim and has a nice build to it.

Fantastic specs for the money!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is fantastic if a 2060 max-q is suitable for what you need. The Ryzen 9 processor is faster than most desktops. A 120hz screen and 1TB SSD make this thing amazing for the price, not to mention the 14” form factor! The bad: It is AMD and therefore does NOT have Thunderbolt. If you are looking to connect this to a Thunderbolt docking station, look for something with an Intel processor.

Better than a PS5
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.it’s an awesome laptop to own! I bought this laptop because I wasn’t able to find a PS5, and I’m not regretting the decision whatsoever. This pc for great running most games at high-Ultra settings. This thing is a beast (even if it’s a year old). The only thing I recommend is buying a separate keyboard… this laptop gets very hot to the touch due to it being a solid metal build. Built quality is top notch and I love the matte screen.

BEST LAPTOP IVE EVER OWNED
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is definitely one of the best laptops I’ve ever owned. The value for the performance is spot on. I love that I can pretty much do anything I want. Work, School, Gaming, Editing, and much more. It’s also super lightweight and does not feel like a “gaming laptop. The battery life is amazing as well. It charges pretty fast too. The quality is also super good and I would 100% recommend.

Has the Specs to Learning Blender
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The G14 had all the specifications we were looking for in a laptop to use for doing 3D animation with Blender. The Ryzen 9's 8 cores and the RTX 2060's 6GB will help reduce the time when rendering in Blender. Also, the build quality of the G14 is impressive. The screen is bright, the speakers sound great, and the metal alloy case make it a pleasure to use.
