A PC to Meet All the Demands

Purchased the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 Gaming Laptop 10.25.2020. As a mother of three boys, one who has flown the coop and made me a grandmother of two boys at 41 years young, a gaming laptop is not my first choice. However, the power turbo features provided by the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 Gaming Laptop are exactly what I want and need to handle the extreme multitasking, photo, developiment-I am always learning, and occasional gaming my husband and I do together. Using the laptop for traditional 64-bit Windows apps is smooth and seamless, as is using 32-bit Unix, Android, and others. Running virtual machines connected by way of external hard drives the machine does not skip a beat. ROG's user center has predefined CPU and GPU system configurations or users can manipulate system settings to meet the demands of their personal usage. If you need a workhorse of a pc, this is one machine that will not let you down in performance, user options, graphics, or under the hood muscle.

2 years later I have streamed, played well over1000 hours on this laptop. I use it to do basic stuff and fake for hours… if a buddy of mine told me he was buying this I’d say good choice… minus one thing… it gets so very very hot!! I run mine on a cooling pad and still had to YouTube a work around to help it stay cooler

Fast start-up, SSD is huge capacity and fast. No issues. Light weight, easy to carry in backpack for work. Only criticism is poor design of backlit keyboard. Note: no ethernet connection; all-Wi-Fi connection, which works great with home Wi-Fi. Bluetooth has great connection to soundbar two rooms away.

So much gaming power in such a small package

It is really hard to believe so much gaming power is in this small Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 laptop. If you were to compare this laptop to other 14” laptops on dimensions alone, it isn’t the smallest or lightest. Still it is amazing how small and light this laptop is considering the specs of the hardware. The 8-core Ryzen 9 4900HS processor, 120Hz FHD display, GeForce RTX 2060 6GB GDDR6 graphics, 16GB of DDR4 system memory and a 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD is a powerful combination. Considering the small 14” display size, for gaming I prefer the 120Hz refresh rate of this FHD display instead of the 60Hz refresh rate of the QHD display in the more expensive model that includes the AniMe matrix panel. The laptop is quiet and stays cool during casual use like browsing the web, checking email or working in office apps. When you are playing games, the fans make quite a bit of noise. You won’t notice if you wear a headset while gaming. The display hinge design lifts the back of the laptop off the desk to allow better airflow under the laptop. Air is drawn in through 5 vents in the bottom of the laptop and exhausts through vents on the left and right sides and along the hinge. The angle also feels better while typing. The power button has a fingerprint scanner and it takes about 12 seconds from off to logged into windows (after setting up fingerprint sign-in). The fingerprint scanner isn’t as good as a flagship smart phone, but it recognizes my fingerprint more consistently than my Dell 2n1. A couple of gripes to get out of the way. No webcam. I hardly ever use webcams in laptops or tablets, but I’d rather have a crappy camera I could use if needed vs NO webcam at all. Quite a few people working from home given recent events and a webcam would offer flexibility. Another gripe is the keyboard backlight. When the backlight is on, there isn’t enough contrast between the color of the keyboard and the illuminated characters. It can be easier to see the characters with the backlight off. Hard to show with a photo. This is probably less of an issue with the darker gray models because those keys are dark, and the backlight should be easier to see with more contrast. The backlight has three brightness settings, but the light is uneven, some keys are better lit than others. There is also a lot of glare visible under the keys. I like the response of the keyboard but I’m not a fan of the font used on the keys. There are 4 dedicated special keys above the keyboard. Volume down, volume up, toggle microphone and Armoury Crate application launcher. The secondary actions of the function keys F1-F12 are speaker on/off, previous track, play/pause, next track, toggle fan mode, screen capture, decrease display brightness, increase display brightness, toggle display mode, enable/disable touchpad, Sleep mode and Airplane mode. Function + up arrow increases brightness for the backlit keyboard and Function + down arrow decreases brightness. Small but nice touch pad. You can move the cursor around the 1920x1080 desktop without the need to reorient your fingers often. The speakers sound good, better than average. The two 2.5W speakers each have down facing openings on the bottom of the laptop and upward facing openings on either side of the keyboard. The sound is very clear, better than two of our laptops but not as good as another one we have. When I’m listening to music, I tend to use Bluetooth speakers or headphones and when I’m gaming, I use a headset. The left side has a heat exhaust close to the hinge so the power (DC) port is dead center on the left side. Next is the HDMI port, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port and Headphone/Headset/Microphone jack. The USB Type-C port on the left side can be used to connect external monitors up to 3840x2160. It can also be used as a backup power input when the battery is above 5% but won’t provide enough power for gaming. The right side has a security slot closest to the hinge, then another heat exhaust. There are two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports (Type-A) and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port. The Moonlight White cover looks nice and stands out but nothing about the laptop screams gaming laptop. My main daily productivity laptop is a 15.6” 2n1 and I can’t get over how nice and light this Asus gaming PC is, yet it is so much faster and capable. It is tempting to use the Asus as my daily, but it will remain our dedicated gaming laptop.

Putting the Warrior into the Road.

.. SYNOPSIS: #1 Pro and #1 Con is the same thing, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 is an unapologetic GAMING beast wrapped in a svelte laptop skin. It killed all games I threw at it, often in ultra-mode, had a surprisingly good battery life, a good overall build (but no web cam), and was okay for more mundane tasks (re Microsoft Office), but if you want to take advantage of all this power for photo or video editing you will want an external monitor. Your gaming buddies will be jealous. REVIEW: You’ve devoured the specs. You probably even know that the latest 3.0GHz AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS flexing the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q with 6 Gb Vram, a 120Hz screen, 16 gb on board DDR4 memory and a 1 Tb SSD (both user upgradable) means some serious power at a reasonable, dare I say almost ‘value’ price. All in a slim, lightweight package. So what’s the catch? Do the numbers lie, or can this paperweight really play games? And almost as important, can I convince myself and/or my spouse/significant other/boss that it can do the road warrior thing (read work) too and make it my daily? THE BUILD: I was skeptical. Computers are full of choices, priorities, and compromises and yep they show up in the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14. For example, unpacking I was surprised to find the side ports (including power) pushed up near the front instead of out of the way near the back. They do this to allow cooling vents in the back. Cooling is good when you want power. In today’s world of 4k screens, the 1080 p screen is limiting for work but gold standard for gaming at 120 hz (smoother, faster). However, there is an HDMI port for that external screen. Beyond that, there is no compromise on the build, it feels solid, doesn’t flex, the quality is good and there are no screaming aliens or lights that would raise eyebrows in the board room. My wife liked the white lid and I liked the ‘ErgoLift hinge’, which tilts the keyboard for easier typing and better airflow. Speaking of the keyboard, I like it. They keys are responsive and give great feedback. Not the quietest but I didn’t get kicked out of the library. It doesn’t get too hot during normal use. The key backlight is uneven but not enough to be bothersome while gaming. Though for really demanding games you will likely use your tried and true external keyboard. Rounding out the build, 2 regular USB ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports, headphone jack, all coming in a slim 0.7 inch (height) package at 3.7 lbs. And of course, because this is all about gaming performance, WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0. What’s missing? No webcam. Bad for meetings, irrelevant to gaming. No TB3. You’ll run off the generous 1tb internal SSD, but otherwise ‘wait’ for USB 3.0 for swapping out large files if working. These were all initial impressions on setting it up. The worst part of it was Windows 10, but that can be fixed and is personal preference. All niggling doubts were forgotten and forgiven when I finally started up my first game. PERFORMANCE: Geekbeench, Cinebench, get used to leaving lesser machines in the dust. And by lesser I mean computers that cost more, like the Apple Pro 16 and Dell XPS 15 7950, more rounded machines but less gaming orientated. The AMD Ryzen 9 with discrete graphics Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q really kicked in when I started going through all my favorite games. Legacy games were never so fast (looking at you almost anything from Blizzard), and it gave me more than 60 FFS with high to ultra settings on even No Man’s Sky, Subnautica, and the Forest. And okay Fortnite. No disappointments here. But you will want to run with the power adapter, even USB C charging was too slow when the discrete graphics and turbo CPU mode were engaged. You can imagine, what that does to battery time (about 3 hours when maxed out for games for me). Finally, what’s great FPS if you can’t hear the wet sounds of monsters blowing up and guts and gore plopping down around you? For a computer its size, with two tweeters and two woofers, it has decent sound. Definitely loud enough to fill a room and maybe even annoy neighbors. Speaking of loud, some reviews criticize fan noise. Well, you are only going to get great performance with great thermals and for laptops, that’s fans. Me personally, I never found it to be distracting, but I tend to be tolerant of such. I could hear them in a silent room when I wasn’t yelling at enemies. EVERYTHING ELSE A COMPUTER IS FOR: It’s a great gaming computer, but ‘what about everything else?’ is a legitimate question. As mentioned, the build was solid and fit well in my backpack with little worries. It’s easy to type on. Peripherals were easy to attach, though the cords could get in the way being near the front. I loaded up some real-life applications, the complete Microsoft Office and Photoshop. I didn’t find the lack of TB3 to be a problem, USB C is fast enough. The battery was fine, I never got the 10 hours mentioned in marketing but then I never run in ultra-silent mode with a dark screen. In real world use I would get 6-7 hours, long enough for crossing the country by plane. In this mode, USB-C charging was fine so I didn’t need to carry the included power brick. And the battery was fine for a few hours of nighttime game playing. The 1080p screen was okay for MS office and browsing the web (and games duh). I could swap between the two and get work done. I wrote this review in word for example. If I needed multiple files visible at the same time for larger projects, I would hook up an external monitor (4K worked fine). Dongle life isn’t for everyone, but when I read my camera files off SD cards I didn’t mind. Displaying photos on 1080p was fine. But when working with the photo files, it definitely was time for that external monitor. WHO IS THIS FOR? It’s really in a class of its own in terms of small size and great gaming performance. And it’s not bad for more ordinary tasks. It plays well with peripherals expanding its usefulness. So really its for anyone that needs something that is easy to carry around, can do some serious work, but at the end of the day doesn’t compromise on gaming entertainment. Yeah I can see this being a daily. PROS: Wicked fast: high end specs across the board, processor, storage, video and ram. Build: small, compact size and weight, a class of its own. Even attractive. 120 Hz screen. Battery life. WORTHY COMPROMISES: 1080p screen. Lack of TB3 (AMD doesn’t support it) CONS: Cord Placement

You already know the hype. I’ll try not to hype it up. I have every gaming system. Name it and I either have it or had it. The only thing lacking was an updated gaming laptop. I was in search of a desktop originally to handle VR games done through my Oculus Quest. I travel so I didn’t have a desire to build a two foot tower gaming rig. I have a Nitro 5 with a GTX 1050. I’ve also owned the giant legendary 17.3 inch asus rog laptops that were the best at thermals and low fan noise. I’ve returned MacBook Pro for heat and fan noise. I’ve returned a similar MSI 14 inch gaming laptop that sported a 1060. It was plastic and the fan noise was terrible. Point is, I’m a stickler for Fan noise, I hate it. So lacking a modern laptop, I figured I’d bite the bullet and try this out. If not, I have 30 days to return being an Elite Member. right out the box, this screamed quality. Solid metal, not cheap plastic and metal. But then I worry, fan noise. No way can this be good. I install Forza 4. Ran it on the highest settings. It’s gorgeous! The heat? Yes the keyboard is hot but I’m on an Xbox controller. Fan noise? You can hear air flow but it’s not a cool whine nor does the chassis vibrate from the fan, unlike a MacBook or that MSI. It’s noticeable but I’ve heard much worse. PS4 Pro fan is either on par with the loudest of this laptop or even louder. So based on those simple items, not being loud fan noise and being so tiny but powerful, this is a keeper. If you don’t like the small fan noise it makes, the. Under volt it or manage the power. It’s not as bad as people say it is, and you are looking at a mobile cpu that rivals the fastest desktops in a tiny package that you can travel and play the best of games and VR. No returning this one, but it’s only been 2 hours. I’ll update if I see something bad. I’m gonna test the crap out of this one

So first off this pc is a beast now if you are wondering if it’s powerful enough yes it. Now the only reason I wanted to get this pc because it’s says VR READY but guess what it’s most definitely capable of many more from vr to plying games at 120 FPS to way way many more but here’s the chat make sure you update the drives and the windows software and if you are only gonna use this for Vr or gaming wise make sure you set those apps to the highest priority so windows can focus on those apps more but this little thing kick. Now I don’t know nothing about graphics or Anything you know for having a pc that can run stuff so I did some googling but this pc rocks Trust me it’s worth it it can run oculus at high resolution at the fast FPS but the only problem is that the device over heats so you are gonna have to find something to fix that

I usually don't post reviews. But if I like a product very much, then I definitely do it. This is one of the instance. I am an Engineer who uses a lot of high end industrial CAD softwares like Solidworks, Siemens and Ansys. After running it on the laptop, it works like butter. I didn't want to buy costly workstations with Nvidia RTX Quadro graphics card. This was why its perfect with every sense. Compact, powerful graphics card and AMD Processor, and light. Loved it. I am a Creator too. I make Youtube videos at 4k using Adobe Premiere Pro. I got the laptop with 16gb RAM which doesn't work for exporting good 4k videos. So, I upgraded the laptop to 40gb RAM (bought a 32gb DDR4 3200MT/S CL22 SODIMM RAM by Micron company from Amazon. This is the exact RAM config that comes inside the laptop from factory). NOTE: There are two RAM cards inside the laptop. 1x8gb is soldered and 1x8gb is removable. I removed the 8gb one and replaced with 32gb. That makes a total of 40gb RAM. It is advisable not to upgrade it if you are playing high end games on it as due to mismatch of RAM size, the laptop will have a slight decrease in performance, like 10%. For video editing and other engineering software, it works like butter. Also, increasing the RAM size doesn't violate the warranty. Just make sure you are upgrading the RAM with the correct product. CONS: 1. No camera (Why Asus? why?) 2. 8gb soldered RAM inside (very bad practice for a manufacturer like Asus) 3. Fingerprint sensor is laggy and often it doesn't work at all. 4. Missing SD card reader slot. 5. Missing atleast one thunderbolt USB-C port.

My husband and I are absolutely in love with this powerful little machine. The ROG Zephyrus G14 is a premium, lightweight (only 3.6 lbs!!), powerful gaming laptop. It is clear that this machine was built without sacrificing any shred of quality or performance. After unboxing the machine I dove right into setup. One thing I noticed was how simple it was to set up this machine in comparison to other computers I have owned. Much of the set up could even be done via voice commands! This computer comes with Windows 10. We did enjoy that it appears to be a stripped down version that did not seem to have an overabundance of useless applications and free trial programs already installed as most computers do. Function: The AMD Ryzen 9 processor is impressively fast and responsive. This is backed with 16gb of RAM which makes transitioning between programs virtually seamless. This computer is crazy fast no matter the application. Due to the current COVID situation we are spending some time working from home so this machine has gotten a good deal of use for both business and pleasure, excelling at both. For business, CAD software was downloaded and run on this machine. It ran flawlessly; which was a relief as CAD software tends to bog down most computers. All of the games we threw at it loaded quickly and played seamlessly. The picture on this 14in screen left us in awe! This laptop has a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card. The screen resolution is 1920x1080 with a 120hz refresh rate which is fantastic for this little laptop. The Rog has a super crisp and clear picture that enhances the quality of any game. We were amazed at the clarity of even the finest of details were displayed. Equipped with a 1TB SSD Hard drive which makes the computer lightweight and quiet in operation. When the laptop is opened it puts the keyboard on an incline which is a nice touch. Not only is it a more comfortable typing angle, but it also allows for better airflow keeping the machine even cooler. Aiding in keeping the machine cool is a high powered fan. The user has the ability to toggle through several fan speeds and functions right from the keypad. The modes are: Silent, Turbo, Performance, Windows, and Manual. For being such a compact machine, even on the highest fan mode it is still fairly quiet. There is also a “ROG” button that takes you to a screen where you can not only monitor the machines performance but also customize it. This was a very nice touch! I have attached a picture of this interface for reference. The battery life is incredible! Having 10 hours of battery life is unheard of for a laptop. One thing we also liked is that utilizing an XBOX controller for game play was plug and play! No configuration or set up needed. Lastly is sound. For such a compact machine this thing packs a punch! It has nice crisp and clear audio that has impressive volume levels. Cons: There is no Ethernet connection. There is no webcam There is no number pad Lastly, the keypad back lighting is not offered in RGB and is fairly weak.

I ordered this laptop with high expectations, and rightly so with a $1500 price tag after taxes. The hardware is quite good however the support I have received with my unit has been some of the worst I have ever experienced. Yes - I do understand that we are in the midst of a global pandemic and that these businesses supply chains have been massively disrupted, however this should have no bearing on the way I was treated after receiving a lemon. The Good: Great Exterior finish Great Weight Great Chassis - very rigid and structurally sound Great styling for such a powerful laptop Great Specs - 2060 and the new Ryzen 9 4900hs? Sign me up. Good Keyboard - Backlighting is subpar, and has not been fixed with my production unit. Good trackpad - Not the best out there however it is very accurate and an average size. Good Speakers - not studio quality however very acceptable Comes with very minimal bloatware The Bad: Fingerprint sensor is flaky at best - I have to be very precise in the way I use this fingerprint sensor in order to get it to register my finger print at all. My unit has a defective screen - I constantly get large portions of the screen turning into large white boxes and flickering on / off, additionally the screen has been flickering totally black then turning back repeatedly. Colors are also very off on my unit. Shipping - through likely no fault of BestBuy or ASUS I received my unit with a VERY large hole in the box and no protective packaging inside. The Ugly: Support - Due to my units defective screen I attempted to get my unit exchanged through both ASUS and BestBuy however neither support team has been able to figure this out for me. I've been through 5 Asus Support reps, 5!!! a couple of whom outright stopped talking to me mid support chat, one of whom once connected to the support chat did not respond at all. I have waited for a combine 3 hours on hold (only 2 calls) for BestBuy phone support only to never get through to an agent. The online BestBuy chat agent I spoke to was nice however clearly did not have accurate support information on this device as he told me to exchange it in store, and when I asked him to check if my store has this device realized exchanges could only be done online for this device however failed to mention how to do so (I've only found return information no info on how to exchange the defective unit for a new one). Come on guys, you are both multi-billion dollar companies this level of consumer support is unacceptable. I have been unable to arrange a solution with either of your teams over the span of a week to get this unit replaced with a new one - again I realize we are in the midst of a global pandemic - it should not be this hard to arrange an online replacement of this device. Please Improve your support services to make an exchange process easier and less painful for the consumer. To those who may recommend x y or z to fix the screen issue - I work professionally as a computer support technician, trust me, I've tried it. This is a hardware malfunction and not something that can be simply fixed by updating some drivers, windows, or the BIOS to the most recent versions. Tl;DR: Great buy for the money, Excellent hardware, Great Value. Terrible Customer Support.

I've owned Asus ROG laptops in the past and just like those this one doesn't disappoint. The quality and build of this laptop is absolutely amazing! I can't believe the amount of high end components they have been able to cram into such a small factor. Other than gaming it is whisper quiet and even during games with head phones I can't hear the fans (personally I never play games with out headphones). Great job Asus, you knocked this one out of the park!!

Seriously the reviews complaining about this he laptop are cliche and not original. “Oh no camera” well this is a gaming laptop deal with it. Don’t buy it then complain about the camera. This laptop is meant for gaming and that’s what it does. Super powerful can play basically the new Triple A titles out and then some. The laptop does get a bit hot but if placed on performance mode you won’t even notice. Keyboard light are crap I will admit just disable the lights and surprisingly they are more legible but nothing to rate lower because of. Great purchase for sure.

14 inches on a 16:9 screen works really great for me. 13.3 is too small, and 15.6 is too big. This laptop is the perfect size, weight, power, everything. The 120HZ is amazing really blew me away. The power is ridiculous, the Asus software works really well. The is one of the best, the magnesium chassis feels nicer than aluminum, the fingerprint sensor is great. Only real con is the fan will run and run often and can be load. Use headphones if your doing serious work. For everyday stuff the fan isn't an issue. Buy this laptop it is perfect.

Absolutely awesome! The performance, build quality, battery life, and portability culminate into one of the most well rounded laptops I've ever used. In terms of performance the 4900HS is truly an engineering feat the 7nm process the chip is based on sips power and packs a huge punch as for the GPU the RTX 2060 Max Q is a good pairing with the 1080p display I've been able to play any game with the graphics maxed out only exception has been cyberpunk 2077 but I found a nice balance and I'm able to have nearly everything on the high setting with ray tracing enabled for lighting, shadows, and reflections while maintaining a frame rate above 30. The 1080p 120hz ips panel is fantastic and relatively color accurate, it utilizes AMD's freesync technology which syncs the display refresh rate with the frame rate in game resulting in an extremely smooth feeling display. Keyboard I've had no issues with this far, the keys are nice and clicky and feel responsive. I knew going in the backlighting was a low point particularly on the white model but my unit has uniform lighting therefore it's not an issue for me although I do find the keys to be more visible with the back lighting disabled under certain lighting conditions. Lacks a webcam not a deal breaker for me as I don't frequently use one but if you do I'd consider buying an external cam or looking elsewhere. The finger print unlock is located on the power button and has worked the majority of the time I'd say 90% of the time when it has failed logging in is as simple as typing in your pin a mild inconvenience but in my opinion completely forgivable. The speaker are some of the best both in terms of volume and clarity plus dolby atmos although I can't speak to much on it as I haven't utilized it much this far. In conclusion I've not experienced a sliver of buyers remorse which surprised myself as the price isn't exactly budget oriented but in a way it is as it's such a performer. I'd highly recommend, 5 out of 5 stars.

Best laptop for the money. I play games in my free time and this handels titles like RDR2 easily. Only disappointment is screen, fades like white sposts can be seen.battery is average i get like 3.5/4 hrs. Sound is loud but didn't feel that much bass. For students and moderate gamers this is a perfect laptop. Also this generation doesn't have camera i think the newer ones has it.

It’s great if you’re always on the go. The cpu gets really hot but still performs well. The 2060 Max Q performs worse than a 1660 Ti in other laptops. Not bad just restricted by chassis size and power limits. The backlit keys are utterly washed out by the screen. There’s almost no reason to have white backlit keys on a silver keyboard. The 120hz display is nice but the 40ms delay cripples it. Yes. 40ms! Overall great battery life and much better than Razer’s offering for the money.

After doing so much research on purchasing a new laptop that offered great gaming experience, and also use for school and work I decided to go with Asus Z. G14 and I was not disappointed! All the reviews on youtube are true that is the best gaming laptop out there. Very portable, perfect screen, fast Wi-Fi speeds and great range too! The gaming experience is so smooth and fast! Keyboard is perfection! Trackpad is solid and smooth. No webcam but who needs it with face time and all. Plus you can always attach a webcam if needed. It includes all the ports one may need. Not to mention the battery life is outstanding. Seriously, you should not look no further in figuring out which gaming laptop to buy. "THIS IS THE ASUS Z G14 YOU ARE LOOKING FOR!"

A Powerhouse and Best Gaming Laptop So Far

This laptop is a powerhouse. You can throw anything at it and it will come out with flying colors. ASUS and AMD have done a great job. I have used it for multiple PC games as well as for my day-to-day work and in each use case it has just blown away my expectations. It's really great to see so much power packed in a 14" laptop and at this price point. Here are more details: There are multiple configuration available and I opted for $1,449 one which comes with AMD Ryzen 9-4900HS processor, 16GB memory and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q GPU with 6GB of VRAM,1TB SSD for storage and a 1080p 120Hz display. As you can see from these specs, it is a powerhouse. It has two USB 3.0 ports and 1 USB Type-C port on the right AND 1 HDMI, 1 USB-C port (it offers charging and DisplayPort for o/p to a monitor), combination audio jack as well as the power connector on the left. I didn't like the placement of the power connector as it blocks the HDMI port. It would have been ideal if it was at the end instead of middle. But this is a minor point. Also, there is no WebCam which is another minor pain point. It has got a great design. It is slim and light weight (~3.5 pounds). It comes in two colors: "Moonlight White" and "Eclipse Grey". I have got the "Moonlight White" which is a sleek looking white finish paired with metallic silver deck. The UNIQUE part about the design is that the back edge has a drop hinge lid that raises the back end of the laptop when opened. This puts the keyboard at a more comfortable angle. I think it might also help with the cooling as it should help the air flow. The keyboard is decent but the backlight is not that good. It's display is great. I have had a smooth and judder-free gaming experience with all the games (Doom, Civ6, GTA) that I have played on it. The AMD FreeSync technology combined with Nvidia GPU makes this possible. It has a pair of 2.5-W speakers and another pair of 0.7-W tweeters which offers pretty great sound for a small laptop. The sound is powered by Dolby's Atmos technology and the included app lets you choose from several preset audio mode (Dynamic, Game, Movie, Music and Voice). It also has great battery life. I was able to play Civ6 on it for almost 9 hours. It also didn't get as warm as my other laptops. The fan is quite but does a good job of keeping things cool. Overall, it's a great laptop at this price point (in my opinion probably the best portable gaming laptop so far at this size, weight and price point). If you are looking for a powerful laptop (gaming or non-gaming) but don't want to spend insane amount of money, you can't go wrong with this one.

I love this little laptop, it's powerful, it's super portable, and I haven't found a single game to throw at it that it doesn't max out at 1080 resolution. Don't expect to play modern titles at 4k without turning the settings down a bit though. All in all, I'm super happy with this device.
