if you love fan noise and coil whine look no further, this is the best laptop you can buy. definitely a skip was very interested to try this highly acclaimed laptop - the YT reviewers love this. but there are many deal breakers 1. laptop coil whine 2. runs super hot even for basic task .. just browsing and word files. 3. track pad is hit and miss - its small and doesnt recognize single and double tap properly. 4. keyboard is ok ok. backlight is worse. 5. while gaming this thing is deafening. 6. white color - just white but all said the performance is amazing as you can expect from a modern 8c + nvidia 2060 gpu.

I purchased this Laptop mostly for gaming on the go. However, now I use it mostly for work. It has a fantastic 1080p screen with 120Hz refresh rate. The RTX2060 Max-Q GPU handles most AAA games at medium to high settings with ease. I do a lot of 3D design for work and this laptop handles all my 3D rendering programs without a hiccup. The exterior design is great and the size is perfect for meeting customers at their home to show them 3D mockups of home renovation projects. I recommend this laptop to anyone seeking a mid-powered portable work station or gaming laptop.

Great 14” Laptop for gaming! Only thing I didn’t like was build quality was not great to me. I had it for only a year before the keys started to peel and even where you rest your palm got discolored. After 2 years the screen turned black and was un usable.

Great laptop for the price. I was looking for a laptop that could play Minecraft, and other online games with my daughter. Plus I was tired of getting a cheep laptop that either was too slow or didn't last very long. Looking at this laptop I was impressed with the CPU, GPU, and overall internal memory. Most that had the same specs were quite a bit more expensive. Sure there are some things you go without like a smaller screen, no number pad, and no web cam. However, having it for about a month I don't even find those a negitive. I can play games with my daughter, do work I need to do, and have a laptop that looks professional and wouldn't be embarrassed by rainbow vomit if I took it to work. The best purchase I have made this year.

I sold my XPS 13 2 in 1 for this beast and have never looked back. It's one of a kind because it's the smallest laptop to ever include a 4900HS. The processor is efficient when doing basic tasks, but cooks up a storm when put under serious load. The thermals keep everything cool and relatively quiet when idle. Benchmarking this PC gives you Macbook Pro performance for half the price in a smaller form factor. Upgrading the M.2 drive and RAM does require lots of screws, but I'm willing to do that to have the ability to service my laptop well. Asus has done an incredible job balancing cost, quality, size, specs, and upgradability. The only thing I would not recommend this laptop for is if you are doing serious gaming or very intensive GPU workloads. This is a 2060 Max Q, pretty much the bare minimum for RTX, but still a good GPU. I only play Minecraft and it's plenty for me. After all, I don't see why you would play competitively on a 14-inch laptop.

Seriously, this laptop is great. It will run any current game and most of them at very high quality. Expect 10 hours of web surfing if you know how to tweak battery settings. This would be an ideal work/game rig for on the go. The size is perfect and the performance is excellent.

First off, The construction and quality is 5 stars. The lack of a camera is annoying in today's work-from-home client, but I can live with it as laptop cameras generally provide for some unsightly views anyways. My only real complaint from a hardware perspective - these fans are LOUD! Still 5-stars though because for such a small system, to keep the Ryzen 9 and RTX 2060 sub 75C without throttling is impressive. Now for the developer pov. As a developer, I have certain views that may be unpopular, for example, Armoury Crate is annoying. I use unreal engine 4 for robotics - and when I'm trying to time sync the clock with ROS machines - I DONT WANT IT CHANGING MY CLOCK SPEEDS!!!! Secondly, this thing has ZERO linux support. Just don't try. Thankfully, WSL2 runs like a breeze so I can get around that for now. This computer is single handedly influencing the industry so I have high hopes for future support. Until then, 4-stars.

I bought this ~8 months ago to assuage the pandemic boredom, mostly with the intention of playing some steam games. I don't really play heavy duty MP games or FPS or whatever but for my purposes the performance has been really great. Hooking up a second monitor is probably the way to go because the screen on this thing is definitely on the tiny side (crisp visuals though), and I when run a couple of more heavy-duty games on it (mostly Civ 6 and Disco Elysium) it runs very very hot, which my cat appreciates at least. This doesn't seem to impact performance and it's mostly quiet. The keyboard is kinda mediocre and my enter button tends to stick a bit - thankfully I'm too lazy to write a novel and if I did I'd use a notebook anyway. It's serviceable. Definitely a good value-for-money purchase and I'll look to ASUS whenever it's time for a replacement.

I was looking for a laptop that I could use for work, gaming, general use and 3D printing. This laptop handles all of that without any issues. The Ryzen 9 is extremely quick and responsive ... though it can get warm and a little loud when using some more intensive applications, but this doesn't bother me and is expected. Works great with my USB-C Dell docking station and charges via USB-C (I have a 180w charger hooked to the dock). Display is clear and looks great, though the first one I got had a bad pixel in the middle of the Screen, but Best Buy exchanged it without an issue. There are some things to know before buying, the system only has a single memory slot, with 8GBs of RAM built onto the board, max amount that can be installed is 40GBs total with a single 32GB chip to replace the 8GB one installed. There is only room for one drive in the system ... a single M.2 slot for the SSD (would have been nice to have a second one).

This machine is incredible. Feels solid with no flex on the keyboard or track-pad. Packed with the RTX 2060 and AMD's Ryzen 9, I dont have a problem getting the refresh rate I want while still making the game graphics look great. My only grievance is that I did not read well enough on this particular product description. This model does not come with ASUS AniMe LED's on the Laptop lid. Definitely not a deal breaker for me and I absolutely would buy again. I wish I had known from the start rather than find out when I received the laptop.

Let me just say this, in 2016, when the thin, light, beautiful, and powerful Razer blade laptop came out at a cool $4000, people were raving for it to become affordable. It’s what everyone wanted, but not what they could afford. 4 years later, Asus brought us exactly what we wanted at a price that’s too reasonable to be true. This laptop as gone beyond my expectations. - Lighter than my MacBook Pro from 2018. - Stunning colors and clarity from the screen. - Games hard! Running Apex, Tekken 7, Fall Guys, all buttery smooth, and the fans do come on, but not nearly as loud as the Razer Blade series. - Insane wi-fi chip, I have no idea what it runs, I need to do research, but it was downloading Apex at 50 mb/s, while my desktop is usually 12 mb/s. - I really can’t say more, it’s beautiful, light, powerful. You can carry it wherever you go in the world and still be the same gamer you are at home :)

I bought this laptop for work (freelance animator / motion designer) more than gaming, and I have to say it's been great and should be an excellent computer that should keep me covered easily for the next few years. It's really fast and can render from After Effects really quick. (CC2019, don't use CC2020; software is weird on that version) Caching is not a problem; the 1TB ssd reads really fast and playback has been excellent. I'm throwing what-would-be some taxing projects at the machine lately and it's outperforming my old iMac by a longshot. I've been trying to learn UE4 on the G14 lately and its proving this is a computer that will absolutely help me expand my abilities. Switching from Mac to PC was my only burden, but I would say it only took 5 days to adapt to the new operating system; so if you're looking to make the switch and truly need the extra power, I recommend the G14.

This is an ultra portable yet powerful work horse. Primarily because of the beast of a cpu Asus put in this thing. Ryzen 9 is unmatched and can do almost everything a regular power user needs. Deducting 1 star for how noisy the fans are.

After months of researching, I found this to be the best laptop for gaming on the go, doing video conferencing while running multiple applications for school and can handle video editing without a hassle! I've had it bug out on me every once in a while but every laptop I've ever owned (apple, HP, Compaq and Chromebooks) has done to me and I'll shut it down and restart it and it will not do it again. It does get very VERY very hot during gaming but this is common with all gaming laptops but I forgive this laptop since its power is unmatched in my opinion by any other gaming laptop. One of the biggest complains when researching this laptop was the lack of a webcam but it gave me the opportunity to purchase a nicer webcam compared to the built in ones most other computers have and I'll say my image is far clearer than anyone else's during video conference calls due to this.

The price was a little high for what it is. The system is fairly outdated and I have been struggling with the cooling almost always running near full throttle, even when not utilizing much of the CPU or GPU. The GPU strains on RTX even with the performance mode / cooling set to turbo, but I know now that that is just a common issue with the 2000 series RTX cards. Overall I love the construction and feel, the keys are nice t type on and the laptop is firm. One caveat though is that the keyboard lighting makes it difficult to see the keys at night because the keys sit spaced so high, that the light shines out from under them.

      Dear Daphne,

I'm sorry to hear that you are unsatisfied with the keyboard design and cooling performance of this laptop. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control, testing and inspections. What you've experienced was not intentional or representative of our brand. What kind of temperatures are you seeing in game? We always recommend using a straight, hard surface as a base when gaming with a performance laptop to maximize airflow to the fans. Please reach out to me at cl-lane@asus.com and include case #N2104049433 in your email for reference. I will also forward your feedback on the keyboard to the Product team for review.

      Thank you for choosing ASUS!

I bought this laptop during the Black Friday sale for $1199, and I would say that no laptop beats this price for it's value. After changing the battery settings and optimizing some other settings, the laptop can last easily over 10 hours (just don't use your GPU expect when gaming) when non-gaming, so in this aspect, it's perfect for college. The performance is also phenomenal with the 2060 and the CPU is also absolutely great performance-wise. The only things I could complain about are: - The lack of an ethernet port - Laptop gets warm very quick (but at the same time it's pretty reasonable considering the performance) - 120Hz instead of 144Hz (but it's also not a huge difference) Overall, it's a great laptop. I would try to wait for it to go on sale for $1199 instead of the regular $1449 price to save the $250 though.
