Portable but powerful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very powerful for such a small laptop, I needed something portable but strong enough to let me do some gaming on me this definitely has done that. I always have been a fan of asus products and so far this has not met me down. Not to mention the price for wha you get I picked this one up for $1300 on sale. It’s small and light enough to just throw in my backpack when I travel, but has no problems playing some of favorite games.

Great gaming laptop
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This setup is great, my son’s games would not run on our other computer but this thing has handled every game we’ve installed. It’s super fast and pretty quiet. I bought a laptop cooler and it keeps the fans in the computer from ramping up so it stays quiet while gaming. I highly recommend this computer for gaming and photo processing!

A Portable but Powerful Gaming Laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Asus ROG notebook is just a gamer’s dream comes true. It has good performance, look sleek, and most importantly it is light and compact. This is what a gaming laptop should be. Not one of those machines that are heavy and noisy. I don’t want to go technical and specific about the performance as you can go through all sorts of AMD and Nvidia benchmarking data out there. This machine is capable of running the latest AAA games, that’s what matters the most. You can run the games at 1080p resolution and the monitor is able to run them at 120hz refresh rate. Running games at 120Hz in a 14 inch gaming laptop is a feature that used to be a dream, but not anymore. The 1tb SSD capacity should be enough to cramp several AAA games and still have some space available for space consuming work like video editing. So make use of the powerful CPU and GPU to do some serious work and play. The laptop also comes with the latest wifi technology from intel. The things that I don’t really like is that firstly it does not have thunderbolt 3, although the laptop does come with USB-C. Not having thunderbolt 3 would limit the upgradeability factor should you want to upgrade your GPU by using external GPU. I don’t see the need to do so in the near future, though. Also, the laptop does not have built-in webcam. Though decent USB webcams are not expensive, it’s always nice if your laptop comes built-in with webcams. Also, you need to have your laptop charged with the ac adapter if you want the GPU to perform to its max potential. You can use a 65w usb-c charger, however, you won’t experience max frame rate when playing power hungry games if you do so. Lastly, a gaming laptop with powerful CPU and GPU is expected to be hot. There are so much to like about this laptop. This is a portable but powerful gaming laptop, a growing category in recent years but Asus nailed it in 2020 with this laptop. You can game anywhere with this laptop so convenient that you may use it to game anywhere in your house, hotel and public places as long as you can plug in your laptop. It is powerful enough to do VR gaming. Overall, a very nice product by Asus.

Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 is an impressive 14" Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 is an excellent gaming laptop, impressively powered by AMD’s newest Ryzen 9 CPU and Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics in a sleek compact 14-inch body that is beautiful to look at. Matches my daughter's room and drafting table. Best buy had it on sale and was a great value compared to competitors. Battery life is amazing. We hooked this up to a 50" LG UHD TV in her room with a media server ad couldn't be happier!

Great Light Weight Gaming Laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to admit for this being such a thin gaming laptop I am surprised at the power it offers. Movies and games both look amazing on this screen. I got a solid 4 hours of gaming at max graphics off of one charge. I do wish the fans weren't as loud as they are but it's not a deal breaker. All-in-all it's worth the money and I would definitely recommend this to anyone else looking for a small but powerful gaming laptop.

Super powerful portable power!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop for gaming, school, and work. This thing is small, and powerful. This plays Dota2, My time at Portia, Stardew Valley, Terraria, Minecraft, Phantasy Star Online 2 NGS, Satisfactory, Rogue Company, Apex Legends, COD Warzone, WoW, basically anything out there this laptop has been able to handle. Get this for anyone who wants powerful, fast gaming on the go and needs to get work done.

Overheating Terrible laptop not worth Gaming on!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not a bad laptop, lightweight, nice white color, and a good beginner type gaming laptop. However this is where the troubles start, if your buying for light office work, web browsing...etc then enjoy. However if you are going to game on this then prepare for this laptop not lasting long. As soon as u start playing hig demanding games the surface temp becomes way to hot to even touch, and according to the asus control center the heat temps for cpu and gpu are at 125C+ and this is with a 4 fan cooling tray that does 70cfm air flow!, the internal componets are stated for a max of 105C. Furthermore, that extreme heat is blowing out of the laptop and Directly onto the 13' screen! Furthermore max ram is 24gb due to only having 1 ram slot and the other soldered on the motherboard. After returning this laptop and trying one more time with no changes, I ended going for another brand of Gaming laptops.

Couldn't Ask for More
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an absolute stunner of a machine. Super fast, lightweight, stylish, and up to any gaming task. Pros: 1. Looks- The matte white case and silver keys is a welcome break from gray/black/red/green units that dominate the market. It's understated and almost elegant. If you needed to take this to a work meeting, it wouldn't look out of place. 2. Size- The 14 inch screen is big enough to immerse yourself in the game, but not so large that you can't take it with you. At 3.5 pounds, it's easy to throw it in your backpack or briefcase and take with you. I travel for work and this will make a great machine to pull double duty (work and gaming) when I'm on the road. 3. Performance- It doesn't matter how great it looks or how light it is if it doesn't perform. Fortunately, the G14 is as good as it gets for a laptop of this size. The first game I downloaded was Ori and the Will of Wisps. The graphics were gorgeously rendered and even the darkest parts of the world were crisp and not muddied, which can happen with a darker game. Movements were smooth as silk with no lag. Playing in Performance mode, I got around 2.5 hours of battery life. I also tested it for use as a secondary work computer and with multiple Office documents open and with multiple Firefox tabs running, I saw no noticeable lag and switching between windows was seamless. Battery life for standard usage (typing, basic internet, a few YouTube videos) was around 10 hours. The keyboard is good for a laptop with enough travel to make typing easy. For gaming, an external keyboard is more comfortable but the machine's keyboard is usable in a pinch. 4. Build Quality- For all that this is a thin and light laptop, it feels like a tank. Absolutely no give at all in the keyboard and the hinge feels sturdy. Cons: 1. No webcam- You can always attach an external webcam, but you really shouldn't need to. It's an odd oversight. 2. Fingerprint reader is iffy. Around 75% of the time, the fingerprint scanner couldn't recognize my fingerprint. I deleted my fingerprint and rescanned and still had the same result. Overall, this is a monster of a machine in a small, lightweight package. Excellent for gaming, but also makes a good travel and work computer due to its small size and great performance.

Good middle of the way, well priced computer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Also ran display quality, keyboard and mouse. Feels inferior to the rave performance reviews. Colors on the screen are washed out and dull, to me it feels like the performance is more in line with a highly pleasant productivity machine than I was impressed with it as a gaming machine (then again, I'm pretty spoiled by my gaming desktop). I would skip it, its tempting when its on sale, but I would try for something better. This is a very 'neither here nor there' laptop... its light, but not that light... The Ryzen chip has so much potential. I look forward to checking out the next releases from Ryzen/Asus. Other positives are the giant SSD storage capactiy, the RAM, the chip and the value. You may like it better than I, I am pretty picky about screens and only use high density, high color displays on all my other computers so this display was unbearable to me.

SoSo
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly, i still don't know. its supposed to be super fast considering the small size. I think its OK. I don't paly games, I am a Industrial Designer and do 3D Renderings, quit similar. here is a few of my issues: -I wish i would have known about the keyboard layout. a few keys i use for shortcuts all day long are missing... -The finger print unlock never works... -When keyboard backlighting is on you cant read the keys at daylight... -It has a massive AC adapter... -HDMI is on the left side, my monitor is always on the right side, because i use right hand on the mouse left on the keyboard... -gets dirty quick... -no Camera And Finally, this computer came in the most complicated cardboard box i have ever seen. based on my work experience a box like this is easily $20 Ex Factory. This means after Shipping, all other cost added in, margins, Duty and Taxes i payed at least $100-$120 for something i through into the recycling bin half an hour after leaving best buy... that's 10% of the computer price just for Trash only so some dang YouTube reviewer can talk about unpacking experience... not cool ASUS!

Excellent 'gaming" laptop and school use
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop for my family for upcoming online school year. I chose a 'gaming' cpu considering the need for video conferencing, good audio and visual display. This CPU is fast and covers the online video demand easily. It is also lightweight, seems to be built fairly durable and runs silently and cooly so far. I would recommend it for a family who will be online a lot this year due to the current situation.

Not for VR
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok, this is a super fast, super light laptop. The problem is, I purchased it specifically to use with my Oculus Quest 2 (using the link cable). This laptop has all the specs and is totally able to perform properly-on paper. The problem is, the Oculus cannot figure out which graphics card to use. And there is no way to force it. I tried all of the hacks and none of them worked. The other issue with this laptop is that the USB ports all showed as 2.0, not the 3.1 listed. I tried several different items, and they all said that the ports were 2.0 and I should plug into 3.0 instead. MAYBE it was a manufacturing error and the ports were the wrong ones. They were not blue, but not all 3.0 are. I am not sure what happened. But that is totally unacceptable to have 2.0 ports on a brand new laptop. I will say that this laptop is INCREDIBLY fast. Way faster than i7. I REALLY wish I had been able to use it. But the whole reason why I purchased a laptop is for using the Oculus Link setup. I purchased the open box, and when I got it, I actually had to clean it because it had something splashed on it. And it even had crumbs on it. It was supposed to be "open box-excellent". And the box had been taped up several times. So clearly, this laptop had been purchased and returned more than once. But like I said, if I had been able to get my stuff to work with it, I would have kept it. I will also mention that it does not run as hot as the i7 gaming laptop, and that it seems to have a longer battery life, too (well, the time that was left on the battery charge indicated it would be good. 7 hours for this one vs 2 hours for my MSI). I was reading about this laptop on other sites, and the consensus is that if you are looking for a VR/VR headset-- ready laptop, stay away from this one. The issue with the dual graphics card is a big one, and only a few have figured out how to fix it. None of the tricks I read worked. So, just keep that in mind. I do recommend this, but only for regular gaming, not VR.

Great laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, it's a good laptop. The greatest point about this laptop is its light weight but good performance. However, it could become very hot when playing games. Meanwhile, the earlier AMD driver has some issues, which may cause screen shutdown when you watching videos.

||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When new i had problems with the fingerprint reader and the led of the backlight keyboard. The fingerprint reader issue have been solve via bios update, the backlight is not perfect but you get use to it. Overall: is a great portable gaming station Note: you will need to have the original charger plug on for better gameplay performance. (Turbo Mode) 65watts from the USB-c isn't enough.
