Tons of value with Minimal compromise
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent 2-3 weeks researching a good portable and capable laptop This form factor really impressed. The Ryzen 9 4900HS sips 35w and is more powerful than my 90w I7-8700K desktop computer. This thing is blazing fast. I only play COD and Overwatch. Overwatch max settings is 120 FPS. Cod I am med -high at about 100 fps. I will say that although it is compact It is still pretty dense It feels heavier than 3.5 lbs so I can't imaging what 5lbs feels like. At first I the laptop was getting very hot around 85 degrees but redditors found that disable boost gets you almost the same performance with 10-15 degree cooler temps. It always runs quiet and cool when not gaming for me, Now it runs cooler in the 70s while gaming too. The fans will rev up but are not overbearingly loud. The laptop deck gets warm/hottish but not where I put my hand so this is acceptable to me too. I have no idea how someone figures this stuff out. My battery life was showing 6 hours on full charge but then I disabled Varibright in radeon and it changed to 10 hours There are other detailed ways to avoid the software issues on reddit regarding drivers but I did not do any of those, I only updated drivers through whatever my computer recommended (windows update, myasus, nvidia) I got the black screen twice on the first day while using chrome. I updated some drivers through windows and myasus and nvidia. I have not had it since. I never got screen flickering The screen is bright and vibrant in my opinion, it might be just marginally slower response time than my desktop gaming monitor, but unless you are a serious competitive gamer, should not bother you. Backlight sucks, I disabled it and couldnt be happier, longer battery life too, small con. There is no webcam and I actually prefer this too. Some people on reddit have mentioned build quality issues. Mine felt solid. It is not as solid as my wifes macbook pro, but I would say it doesnt feel cheap. Hoping to upgrade ram soon. Will need to check timings/speed and i think the max is adding 1 32gb dimm but only 16gb will run in dual channel as this model is stuck with 8gb soldered. Overall on reddit most people seem happy with the laptop with a few duds. Again I suggest check reddit for strategies on improving your experience with this device. Its new hardware and software combinations so there will be some bugs.

Great gaming laptop
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had a few gaming laptops before buying this one, all of them had some sort of issue after 8-12 months of normal usage (2-5 hrs daily) I purchased this laptop now just about 2 years ago and have had 0 issues playing most of todays game on either maxed out graphics or all close to it. So needless to say I highly recommend this laptop

Small but powerful!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I have very much enjoyed this laptop, While YES! when gaming DO NOT HAVE ON LAP. it will get very hot, but I got a table fan to go under it and keeps it running at peak. just a 30 buck investment and so far I am able to play all my games at ultra, and also work on graphics, videos, after effects with almost no stales.

Exceptional Hardware, mediocre software
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is a beast from a hardware point of view. R9 4900HS blows even desktops out of the water. 2060 Max-Q might not be the most power graphic card but it's definitely adequate to handle modern games at 1080p. So on paper, this is probably the best 14-inch laptop on market. Now, for the software. It's another story. Seems that the duo AMD and Asus haven't figured out their relationships yet. People on reddit have been complaining about various issue including: - abnormal fan noise - manual fan curve doesn't work - screen issues(black screen, flickering/glitches) - various driver issues - overheating - coil whine Personally my machine suffers from the screen issues. I really wish that Asus and AMD can work their way through this fast and get everything resolved. You can't have a great body without a well soul. At this moment it's a bit hard to recommend but if the situation improved I will definitely put this on anyone's wish list.

Satisfied! Great little rugged machine.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great little machine. Fast and sturdy. Doesn't come with a webcam but it took me a minute to realize that it syncs with phones and uses their webcam. So invest in a seperate webcam or a tripod for your phone. Otherwise, no regrets. A great little laptop that's going to be pretty ready for anything for many years.

Basically unusable when closed
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The performance is good, the fit and finish is good, the keyboard is good, the trackpad is good ... but ... it's basically unusable when closed. We intended to use this with it closed up underneath the monitor stand, with a USB-C dock connected to it for monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Well ... you can get it to work while closed, until it goes to sleep, or Windows reboots (which, Windows, so fairly frequent). However, once it goes to sleep, or Windows reboots, you are FORCED to open it before you can use it again. Maybe I should have checked about that before buying, but it never even occurred to me that it was even POSSIBLE to buy a premium laptop that wouldn't work when closed. If you don't ever want to use it at your desk when it's closed, it's probably a great computer. (We haven't had it long enough to see if there are any other hidden gotchas, so I could be wrong.)

Posted .Dear CairasTravis, I'm sorry you have been experiencing this sleep issue with your laptop and I would love to assist you to get this issue resolved. If you experience that the computer has been set as “PC never goes to sleep” and Screen will turn off after few minutes, however, the system still enters sleep mode after the screen turns off.
1. Please check whether your computer is with Windows 10 and supports Modern Standby mode. Here you can learn more about How to check whether my device supports Modern Standby mode: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1035447/
2. If your computer supports Modern Standby mode, it means that the symptom is normal. Due to Microsoft’s design, Modern Standby mode had been implemented from Windows 10 announced. The system will enter Modern Standby mode after the screen turns off, and it means that the system enters a quick sleep.
● Modern Standby vs S3 (Sleep)
In Windows 10, there are two power models for PCs: S3 and Modern Standby. The S3 power model is an older standard and is not capable of the instant-on that consumers expect from modern devices. Modern Standby is capable of leveraging all the capabilities of a modern chipset and can be integrated across the breadth of tablets and PCs today. The first iteration of Modern Standby was Connected Standby, which first shipped in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. Modern Standby expands upon the Windows 8.x Connected Standby concept, allowing for flexibility in component selection and the ability for the OS to manage network connectivity in standby.
On any Modern Standby system, the system remains in S0 (Working) while in standby, allowing the following scenarios to work:
1. Background activity
2. Faster resume from a low power state
On systems that can stay connected while in standby, wakes based on specific network patterns may also be set by the operating system to enable apps to receive the latest content such as incoming email, VoIP calls, or news articles.

||Posted . SO happy i returned my Razer for this. Faster and runs cooler. Cons: Screen is a little smaller, no webcam, no ethernet port Overall i feel it's worth the price though. Will be keeping this one.

Overall incredibly solid laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been very happy with this laptop. I bought it to be my everyday laptop, replacing an old Pixelbook 2, as well as a laptop to play games. I been mostly playing old school games from back in the early/mid 2000s, and it obviously been fantastic on those. I have play a more recent game a bit, and the laptop has handled it well. The fan is louder with the more recent games, but it is not deafening. The screen is great; very clear and consistent color and brightness across the whole thing. The computer boots up quickly and handles every day type tasks well. Sound output for a laptop is also really good. For a moderate gamer like myself, this laptop is fantastic. I also bought it on sale, which made it an even better value. I would recommend this laptop to casual gamers for sure. Avid, highend gamers, I can't comment since I have not tasked the laptop in that way yet.

Have fun with this.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the things I can really say with confidence is that this is a great laptop PERIOD. It is powerful with it's Ryzen 9 processor to handle everything you can throw at it. Whether it is gaming, music production, office work, school work, digital art, this laptop can do it EASY. And it has a decent battery life.

A powerhouse
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently released and widely appreciated by reviewers all around, I had my eye on this beast for a couple weeks and got it on sale. Instantly bought it. Great performance and cooling as expected. Build quality is nice. Just a heads up, this model doesn't have the anime matrix thing going. That's on a higher priced model I believe.

Best Gaming Laptop Money Can Buy!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Zephyrus G14 with RTX 2060 is probably the best gaming laptop you can buy right now because the performance is amazing for such a slim device, the battery life is amazing! But I have one complaint which is the thermal paste was bad when I got it I had to repasted everything but after that amazing results.

great laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This little laptop was amazingly powerfull. I purchased it to replace my 5 year old ROG laptop 17". I used the g14 for a couple of weeks and eventho it was powerful the screen was just to small for my taste. My fault not the laptop's. only negative about this laptop I can say is how hot it got. Then again it is tiny.

Beast laptop
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first gaming laptop and so far it has been great. I play call of duty cold war and it handled it give without crashing. There default settings say it to ultra but I like to play on low-medium. My only complaint is the fans can get loud but I feel that's with every laptop. Overall I am happy.

9.5/10 laptop for gaming and homework
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The battery life is roughly 8 hours while doing anything you'd need to for school. You can play games like call of duty at near max settings with 60fps. There's plenty of customization and even an overclocking/fan control button. Other than a webcam, it's about as close to perfect as a laptop at this price range could be.

One of the best gaming laptops for its value!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would have to say as an aspiring Computer Engineer and gamer, this computer is both a fun project to work on and very good for all the daily tasks that I have to do. There are a few thermal issues (the laptop can get very hot at times), so I would suggest looking up how to fix them for this specific laptop, which is what I am talking about when I say this is a fun project to work on. It does take a little bit of knowledge how to modify the computer settings so make sure you get a detailed guide when you try to fix them. Once you do fix them, this laptop will be the best value gaming laptop you can buy right now! Even if you don't fix them, this is still a great laptop, and if the laptop does get too hot, you could always plug in a keyboard to fix that issue. One last thing that you may want to consider is buying an external webcam if needed. Although this laptop does not have one, paying an extra $80 or so for a decent webcam is a lot better value in my opinion than paying an extra $300 or more for a laptop of this degree that has a webcam. Overall, I love this laptop and all that it offers!

Great little laptop.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great little laptop very fast but can run a little hot and i do recomend the windows registry mod to enable you to turn off the cpu turbo boost on the power profiles. That being said the laptop is still faster then most intel offerings and if you need more power turn back on the turbo for that task.

Just amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From all the reviews I watch about this laptop, I knew that it would be a good laptop. But once I got my hand on it, I was a lot better than I expected. It can run all triple-A games at high settings with 60fps. It is a great working computer, thanks to its Zen 2 CPU. I requirement people to try it.
