Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the ROG Zephyrus G14's impressive performance, long battery life, and its compact, lightweight design, making it highly portable. Many also praise the build quality and powerful GPU. However, some users express concerns regarding the device's tendency to overheat, the keyboard backlight, and the noticeable fan noise. The lack of a webcam is another frequently cited drawback.

I bought this for general use, with a focus on video performance. Setup was easy. So far I am happy with performance. One thing I didn't notice was that there is no built-in camera, but I'm happy enough using an external USB camera so that is not a major issue.

Great laptop been searching for awhile for the right gaming laptop. Was debating building my own but this has all the newest software and got it on sale. Runs super fast and is super light I would suggest this to anyone wanting a lot of power.

More than 11 hours of battery life, awesome performance for gaming and VR, thermal management that never gets hot to the touch, and a design that can both satisfy gamers and look at home in more professional settings. All this, plus funky personalization features.

Great performance, however, it has shut down during gaming with fans at full speed and keyboard cover too hot to touch. Asus needs too correct this, hopefully with a firmware update. Not sure if the excessive heat will shorten the life of the laptop.

I recently purchased this laptop as an upgrade/replacement for my previous one. My previous laptop was way under powered for what I primarily used it for (not gaming) but video editing/graphic design etc. This laptop is amazing and blows my old one out of the water. I'm blown away by it, I can now do my video editing in a lot less time and even rendering/exporting goes faster. I do enjoy gaming, so I can't wait to try out a few games!! About the only thing i can say so far is a negative is that it lacks an SD or Micro SD card reader - but I knew that before I purchased it and I am using a usb card reader to handle that - minor inconvenience but well worth the trade off in my opinion. Will update if anything pops up!

Came back to windows after using a macbook pro for the last few years and man....I can’t believe I gave up pc gaming for the minimalistic laptop. It’s a quality laptop for the price point. Just no webcam fyi and it does get pretty hot though.

Great laptop! Lots of power packed in to a small package. I actually like that it doesn't have a webcam built in (most built-in webcams are trash) ... I can just plug in my fancy Logitech cam My only beef is that the backlit keyboard could be brighter

Best 14" gaming notebook out there

Pros: - plenty of power - great keyboard - great touchpad - great speakers - premium look and feel - will blend in in a professional environment - doesn't come with a bunch of bloatware - small, light, & mobile - perfect balance between power, mobility, and cost Cons: - no full size numberpad (unavoidable in a 14" laptop) - keyboard backlighting isn't very good - magnesium top is fairly fragile Seriously if you're looking for a 14" notebook that you can play games on, just get this one. If you're just looking for a laptop you can game on and aren't set on 14", then read on. So far, it does everything well and only has a few quirks that aren't even that important in my eyes. Its small and packs plenty of power to get the job done. yeah, there's faster stuff out there but you're going to pay a lot more for it or sacrifice mobility. This thing is pretty much the perfect balance between power, mobility, and cost. It doesn't take long to get used to gaming on a 14" screen and it's much more convenient to carry around than a 15" laptop. It doesn't sound like much of a difference, but it really is once you get to real world use. I was concerned about buying a laptop without tying typing on it first, but it really is good. The only bad parts about the keyboard is no full-size number pad (no 14" laptop has one) and the backlighting sucks. The backlighting works and you can see the keys (mostly), but it's all uneven and doesn't match the premium look and feel of the device overall. The touchpad is fantastic. It takes something like 19 seconds to boot up from off to desktop ready to go. The speakers are surprisingly good for such a small thing. It's got a button that takes you straight into some ROG gaming software that comes on it. It doesn't come loaded down with a bunch of junk programs you'll never use either. The fingerprint sensor is just ok. It's fast, but that has probably more to do with the CPU. The trick is in the amount of pressure you apply (light touch) and it works the first time most of the time. It's also surprisingly fragile. It's got a magnesium lid, which keeps it light. I guess magnesium is kind of soft because just being in the bag the wrong way with the charger can bend the metal a little. It's easy enough to gently work it back to shape, but It's a little unnerving to be doing that to your brand new laptop. It doesn't really look like a gaming laptop, which I really like. It doesn't have all kinds of crazy shapes and colors. It looks fairly professional and wouldn't be out of place in an office environment. When I set out to get a laptop, I wasn't set on a particular size or brand. After watching and reading tons of reviews I decided on this one and have been very happy with that decision.

Laptop runs GREAT and super cool . Most games ram at 60+FPS with max settings enabled . I’m also surprised at how silent it is. My friends acer predator helios sounds like a plane about to take off. I can even use this one with the built in speakers( which are great btw) While the keyboard itself is great, the backlight is pretty bad , uneven , and the choice of white keycaps and white backlight is really bad . That being said , it does the job of letting you see the keys at night. Just don’t use it during the day . Overal, amazing laptop. Don’t forget to disable turbo boost as it gives you way cooler temps with little performance loss . (Google it for detailed guides )

Speed is there, battery life is pretty good although not the 11 hours unless you really optimize it. Better than other gaming laptops out there for sure. There really isn't a better choice out there right now if you need portability and battery life.

A great all around gaming rig at a decent price. The ASUS is fast and has great performance. Very lightweight if you need to transport it around. Well designed with good ascetics that I was able to pick up for a reasonable price.

It isnt a 4 star and it isnt a 5. The appeal was a portable laptop that I could use anywhere with the desire to play games in bed without frying eggs. I've only owned this laptop for a month and all I've done is the basic installing and updating. I dont mind the feel of the keyboard, however the lights underneath it could be better. When I say better lighting Im not talking about changing colors or anything fancy. When you look down at the keyboard the lights can blend into each other depending on the angle and brightness which makes it hard tell what key is what sometimes. A webcam would be nice because of the quarantine. At least one of my USB ports would be mouse. With phones, tablets, PCs, consoles and smart TVs, my question was "Do I need this?" 13" is too small 15.6" works I have a 17" behemoth. 14"??? It really really depends...

Great never had any issues ever. Fast for how small it is. In games it gets overly hot and always runs at 95C no matter what. So the laptop is very loud other than that complaint it's great.

Great Laptop for gaming, only issue I have found is it heats up a bit faster than it should, and runs hot, but I have seen no real adverse effects yet, could do with some new thermal paste or an extra fan or two but still runs like a champ.

Love this. It is by far my best gaming laptop. My only complaint is that it gets HOT even with the fan mode on. I can run all of my favorite games without sacrificing the image quality. Overall good by if you don't mind a hot lap.
