I love this computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful computer, white option is great. Very fast. I would improve the keyboard backlighting. Setup was easy and packaging was great. I love the way the box lifted the computer up when opening. Great presentation.

Great Laptop! Great Specs in a Compact Package!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop! This is my first laptop in this price range. I typically stayed in the $800 price range but I'm glad I splurged. The specs are good enough for high to ultra high settings in games and has an RTX for raytracing. The keyboard has chiclet keys and is very responsive with backlighting (3 light brightness options). It has keys for easy access of things like graphical settings and even quick access to different performance modes. The power button doubles as a fingerprint reader, which was a nice surprise. The screen is a 120Hz screen and gets fairly bright. Build quality is mostly plastic, but is definitely a premium plastic. No problems so far with this laptop at all. Runs great with anything I throw at it including Adobe Premiere Pro and other Adobe software.

Pretty great laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent powerful unit; I returned for a more powerful GPU at a higher price; I would definitely recommend this for gaming (warzone had smooth graphics); runs somewhat hot though so figure that out but could be fine

Excellent and versatile device!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A great laptop. I use it to remote desktop for work during the day and play games/video call after work hours. Battery life is amazing and the keyboard feels great. No webcam may be a deal breaker for some, but it was not for me.

Portable laptop with impressive performance
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: - One of the most powerful laptop processors you can buy right now. - 2060 Max-Q graphics card gives decent performance in most games. There are Youtube videos with specific game benchmarks if you are wondering about a particular title's performance. This laptop can also run VR fairly. - Smaller form factor and weight makes this laptop much easier to carry around compared to mainstream 15.6 inch gaming laptops. The power bank and cord are also more compact. - The screen is decent. Good colors and 120 hz refresh rate. Your mileage may vary with the high response time screen. For me, the amount of ghosting does not bother me in games and day to day use. Cons: - Heat. Laptop gets very hot in the upper middle portion of the laptop when gaming. While not unusually hot compared to other gaming laptops, it still can cause discomfort. Thankfully, most of the heat is away from the general area of the WASD keys. - Fan noise. The fans are always on, even in "silent" mode, though personally it's not a huge deal. On "turbo", the fans get loud. I would recommend a pair of noise-canceling headphones while gaming. No fan noise issues while doing day-to-day tasks. - The keyboard backlighting is horrible. The lighting is uneven and dim. Trust me when I say that the keys are easier to see in the dark with the backlighting OFF rather than ON. If you're looking for the perfect do-it-all laptop, then this laptop... almost hits that mark. The G14 strikes a great balance between a gaming laptop and an ultraportable laptop. It can run modern titles decently while still maintaining a low-profile, non-"gamer-y" look. A few nuances hold this laptop back from being the ultimate all-purpose laptop, but overall, I would recommend it if you are looking for a more portable gaming laptop.

Best gaming laptop currently available
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is nearly perfect. It's handled every modern game I've thrown at it with ease, including VR games like Half Life Alyx. However, it does get hot. Very well constructed of aluminum. Not too big or heavy but solid.

Good build quality for a gaming laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My main concern with this laptop was the build quality because I was transitioning to this laptop from a Macbook Pro (Early 2015, Retina). Surprisingly, the build quality is better than I expected. The keyboard doesn't flex and the screen is flex-resistant enough for me to be comfortable with its durability. After changing the touch pad settings to make the mouse work similar to a Macbook Pro, the mouse is fairly precise, although not better than the Macbook Pro. I like to use the mouse with my thumb resting on the touch pad so I can click and with my index finger to move the mouse. If you use touchpads like I do, the mouse is precise enough to be comfortable. However, the mouse is a little smaller than I'd like and it sometimes (but very rarely) registers a click as a right click because my index finger is too close to my thumb. Other than build quality, this laptop excels at everything else. After fixing heating issues with a windows update, this laptop handled everything I threw at it (it was a little hot during games like Fortnite on epic settings but I assume this is normal for gaming laptops) and lasted an entire day with Microsoft office and google chrome running.

4 Stars
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I am pleased with this laptop. The reason why I give 4 stars is the fact that it doesn’t have a webcam and it does get hot pretty fast. I haven’t encountered any performance issues at this point.

Great choice for student
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop was the best choice I could have made, it's a perfect hybrid between working as a gaming laptop, but having a long enough battery life and weight to use for school as well. Would highly recommend it.

Great compact gaming laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for an all around laptop with portability. This kind of hit the nail on the head for me after watch numerous review videos. My only complaint is the fans get a little loud when you're working the GPU.

You need to tweak it to make it work
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It gets extremely hot when gaming even for a short period (15min reaches high 90s[Celsius] and an hour reaches 105) so you have to undervolt for longevity. It also suffers from screen freezes so you have to do some tinkering with that as well to fix it. Some other issues: - speaker sound pops - static when streaming videos - Fan noise for daaaays - battery drains quite fast even on normal use - headphone jack was not working properly Though, I have to say that AMD Ryzen Chip is Amazing and the form factor is cool at a great price point. In the end, I had to return it due to issues but It might be just the unit.

Great laptop!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely great machine! Works fast and flawless. The only concern I have is that it gets a little hot after using it for a while but it happens with majority of the laptops. Besides that, it is a great laptop for its price.

Can't Beat it
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Price was unbeatable at the time, Was torn between the 15" Dell G7 and this laptop. For the price, and size this will do exactly what I need it to. Something portable for trips, yet powerful enough to get me though.

Screen Randomly Goes Black.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After comparing price and specs of powerhouse notebooks, I purchased the ROG Zephyrus G14 thinking it was the best bang for the buck. My main use for the notebook was for photographic image processing and Blender modeling. No gaming. Upon arrival, I made sure all the drivers were updated. The first day, the notebook performed as expected. Strong. That night, I was extremely disappointed that the back light on the keyboard made reading the keys nearly impossible. I read in a couple reviews that the back light was bad, but they should have been more honest, The back light glare makes seeing the keys near impossible. I like to listen to music while I process images, but I never could get the speaker volume to preform as expected. Moving the windows sound volume slider up, I did not hear the chime until the level was at 10, and level 100 sounds like level 50 on most other systems. Only work around is to adjust the Dolby custom setting to their highest settings, but that added distortion. The next day is when the real problem began. first few times that the screen went blank, I thought that it must have gone into sleep mode. Except the notebook would not just wake back up. I press and hold the power button about a minute to get the screen back. Yesterday I made sure that all the drivers were up to date. I ran the install.bat files in administrator mode. Then I started receiving a grant asus applications access to change the computer settings each time I restarted the notebook. After doing a clean recovery install of Windows, I called Asus support/ They advised me to use the task manager to change one of the asus applications to run as administrator. The ROG Zephyrus G14 is a powerhouse that ran Blender well, and batch modifications of large raw camera files with ease. However, the screen going blank combined with the atrocious back light on the keyboard on top of the poor sound quality all added up to be a deal breaker, so I returned the ROG Zephyrus G14 Not sure I will ever buy another Asus product again.

Great for video editing...with fast external SSD
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I got this because of the great reviews in terms on gaming. I do play games but I mainly wanted this machine for video editing. While the specs can definitely handle a basic 4K timeline, it does start to struggle once you add effects, optical flow and color grading. But I found that editing off an external SSD that’s faster than the one built in made my workflow so smooth and buttery. I purchased a Sandisk 500GB SSD that I plug into the USB port, and now it changes and renders playback like a dream, as opposed to relying on the built in SSD. I supposed you to could simply upgrade the internal SSD, but I’m not a techy and this just seemed much easier. I would highly recommend this for video editing as long as you get a an external SSD or if you only do basic edits.
